Two goals in Friday's AHL loss Bains scored twice in AHL Abbotsford's 6-3 loss to Henderson on Friday.

Impact Bains has split time between the NHL and AHL this season. He's been productive for Abbotsford with eight goals and six assists in 17 contests, including eight points in his last 12 outings. Should the Canucks sell off forwards ahead of the trade deadline, Bains would be a top candidate for a call-up.

Impact Bains' promotion comes as Marco Rossi (lower body) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. If Bains gets into the lineup during the Canucks' back-to-back against the Kraken and Bruins on Friday and Saturday, respectively, it will likely come at the expense of Aatu Raty or Liam Ohgren.

Impact Bains snapped a seven-game slump with the helper. He was also scratched five times in that span, but the injury to Conor Garland (upper body) has opened the door for Bains to play regularly again. For the season, Bains is at four helpers, 20 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 22 appearances in a fourth-line role.

Impact Bains set up the second of Filip Chytil's goals in the contest. The two have started the year on the Canucks' second line alongside Conor Garland. It's not a particularly notable trio, but it's encouraging for Bains that he's seeing middle-six minutes. He's a tough customer, but fantasy managers shouldn't be expecting the 24-year-old to produce much offense -- prior to Thursday, he had just one goal, 12 shots and 24 hits over his first 21 NHL appearances across the last two seasons.
