Set to face Kings Georgiev is expected to start at home against Los Angeles on Thursday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Impact Georgiev has a 27-13-5 record, 2.60 GAA and .919 save percentage in 45 contests this season. He's coming off a 13-save shutout over San Jose on Tuesday. Los Angeles has the 10th-ranked offense with 3.32 goals per game in 2022-23.
MARCH 9, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Easy work in shutout win Georgiev stopped all 13 shots he faced in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Sharks.
Impact Georgiev ended a two-game skid, and he didn't have to work all that hard to do it. The 27-year-old picked up his 12th career shutout, and it was his fourth goose egg of the season. He's up to 27-13-5 with a 2.60 GAA and a .920 save percentage through 45 starts this season. The Avalanche continue their homestand Thursday versus the Kings.
MARCH 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Facing Sharks Georgiev will guard the home goal versus the Sharks on Tuesday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Impact Georgiev has lost his last two appearances, allowing eight goals on a combined 54 shots versus the Stars and the Kraken over the weekend. He'll have a much better matchup on tap for Tuesday, as the Sharks have won just one of their last six games.
MARCH 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Can't hang Sunday Georgiev allowed three goals on 35 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kraken.
Impact Georgiev never had to play from behind in the contest, but he failed to make a pair of one-goal leads stand. Brandon Tanev tied the game at 2-2 with 2:30 left in the third period, and the Avalanche never touched the puck in overtime before Yanni Gourde scored 1:24 into the extra session. It was a tough weekend for Georgiev, who went 0-1-1 with eight goals allowed on 54 shots over back-to-back appearances. The 27-year-old is down to 26-13-5 with a 2.66 GAA and a .918 save percentage through 44 contests overall. He'll likely get the chance to right the ship Tuesday versus the Sharks.
MARCH 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Guarding crease Sunday Georgiev will face the Kraken at home Sunday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Impact Georgiev was crushed for five goals on 19 shots before getting pulled Saturday against Dallas, halting his five-game winning streak. It was his seventh time allowing at least five goals this season and the third time in his last nine outings. Still, he's 26-13-4 with a 2.66 GAA and a .918 save percentage through 43 appearances on the year.
MARCH 5, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Pulled after five get past Georgiev allowed five goals on 19 shots before he was pulled mid-way through the second period of a 7-3 loss Saturday to Dallas.
Impact It was a tough game for the guy named the NHLPA Player of the Week on Friday. The Stars were in peak form and played like a dominating playoff team. The Avs? Not so much. It was Georgiev's first loss since Valentine's Day and first regulation loss since Feb. 9. He's been playing well recently, as the NHLPA honor attested. But it's also hard not to notice that he's allowed five goals three times in his last nine starts. Georgiev should be fine, but the team around him needs to tighten things up before the playoffs begin.

Perfect in Monday's win Georgiev posted a 31-save shutout in Monday's 3-0 win over the Golden Knights.
Impact Georgiev stretched his winning streak to five games with another impressive performance. The Avalanche took the lead 14 seconds into the game on a blunder by opposing netminder Adin Hill, and Georgiev made it stand for his career-high third shutout of the season. He's now at 26-12-4 with a 2.57 GAA and a .921 save percentage through 42 appearances. Georgiev continue to see the lion's share of the starts in goal with Pavel Francouz (lower body) out.
FEBRUARY 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Going back-to-back again Georgiev led the Avalanche onto the ice, indicating he'll start at home versus the Flames on Saturday, Ryan Boulding of NHL.com reports.
Impact Georgiev continues to be leaned on heavily with Pavel Francouz (lower body) out. The Avalanche have had three back-to-backs in February, and Georgiev has started five of the six games within those sets. He's on a three-game winning streak and will face a Flames team that is right behind the Avalanche in the wild-card race.
FEBRUARY 25, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Wins fourth in a row Georgiev stopped 28 of 29 shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
Impact Georgiev logged his fourth straight win, limiting the damage to a Tyler Toffoli power-play goal from the thinnest of angles at the goal line. During the winning streak, Georgiev has given up 10 goals -- he's been sharp as the Avalanche weather the absence of regular backup Pavel Francouz (lower body). For the season, Georgiev improved to 25-12-4 with a 2.63 GAA and a .919 save percentage in 41 outings. The Avalanche are set for a tough home matchup with the Golden Knights on Monday.
FEBRUARY 25, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting Friday Georgiev was the first goaltender off the ice at practice Friday, meaning he'll guard the visiting crease in Winnipeg, Avalanche play-by-play announcer Conor McGahey reports.
Impact Georgiev will make his sixth start in the last seven games as Pavel Francouz has been on the sidelines with a lower-body injury. Georgiev is 23-12-4 with a 2.72 GAA and .917 save percentage this season, the best campaign of his NHL career. He will face the Jets, who are 18th in NHL scoring, averaging 3.10 goals per game.
FEBRUARY 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Steady in win Georgiev stopped 26 of 27 shots in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.
Impact Georgiev looked sharp after a four-day stretch between games. The Avalanche's offense helped his cause, scoring four times in the first period to establish a big cushion. The 27-year-old has won four of his last five outings, improving to 24-12-4 with a 2.67 GAA and a .919 save percentage through 40 starts this season. It's still possible he plays again Saturday at home versus the Flames, as the Avalanche haven't shown much trust in deploying Jonas Johansson with Pavel Francouz (lower body) out.
FEBRUARY 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Survives with win Georgiev stopped 35 of 40 shots to pick up the win in Sunday's 6-5 overtime victory over Edmonton.
Impact The Avalanche didn't play well in front of Georgiev, allowing free-roaming Oilers to get off uncontested shots on the goalie. Midway through the second period, Colorado was down, 3-0, but the offense made up for defensive misgivings and stole a win for Georgiev, who has two straight victories. The Avs are off until Friday when they play at Winnipeg.
FEBRUARY 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Leads Avalanche to victory Georgiev turned aside 41 of 43 shots in a 3-2 victory over Minnesota on Wednesday.
Impact Georgiev faced 17 shots in the first period alone, but he got out of that frame without surrendering a goal. The 27-year-old is 22-12-4 with a 2.64 GAA and a .919 save percentage in 38 contests this season. He had struggled over his previous three starts, posting a 3.57 GAA and a .902 save percentage over that stretch.
FEBRUARY 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Expected to start Wednesday Colorado head coach Jared Bednar said Georgiev will start Wednesday against the Wild, Evan Rawal of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
Impact Bednar simply responded "yeah" when asked after Tuesday's shootout loss to Tampa Bay if Georgiev would start Wednesday. Back-to-backs are not ideal, but the Avalanche are operating without backup netminder Pavel Francouz. This will be the first back-to-back this season for Georgiev.

No help from his teammates Georgiev made 27 saves in a 5-0 loss to the Lightning on Thursday.
Impact Georgiev deserved better -- the Avs paraded to the penalty box 10 times, leaving the netminder as the last line of defense to keep his team in the game. The Bolts scored twice on those power plays. The loss snapped Georgiev's four-game win streak.
