Shut down for season
The Cardinals placed Knight (ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday, Zach Gershman of the team's official site reports.
Impact
Knight played just one snap in this past Sunday's 40-20 loss to the Texans before exiting the contest with a left ankle sprain. While follow-up tests revealed no structural damage to Knight's ankle, his sprain is significant enough to sideline him for the final three games of the season. With Knight joining James Conner (foot) and Trey Benson (knee) on injured reserve, Arizona will be left with Michael Carter and Emari Demercado as its primary backfield options for the remainder of the campaign. Knight will be a restricted free agent this offseason after he carried 82 times for 269 yards (3.3 YPC) and four touchdowns to go with 160 yards and another score on 22 catches over 12 appearances for Arizona.

Believed to have sprain, getting MRI
The Cardinals believe Knight (ankle), who is set for an MRI after having been carted off the field during Sunday's 40-20 loss to Houston, is dealing with a sprain, Adam Schefter of...
Impact
Knight appears to have avoided a severe injury, with league sources telling Schefter that the running back is nursing "a bad sprain," but that could still notably impact his availability for the last three weeks of the regular season. Emari Demercado and Michael Carter will be positioned as Arizona's clear backfield leaders if Knight misses any time, with James Conner (foot) and Trey Benson (knee) both already having been lost for the year. Knight's first opportunity to attempt to prove he's healthy enough to play Week 16 against the Falcons will come during Wednesday's practice.

Won't return Sunday
Knight (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game versus the Texans.
Impact
Knight logged just one carry for negative two yards before exiting and being carted to he locker room in the first quarter. The 24-year-old has been the Cardinals' starting running back with James Conner (foot) and Trey Benson (knee) both out for the season. Over the last eight games prior to Week 15, Knight recorded 77 rushes for 260 yards and three touchdowns to go along with 21 catches (on 30 targets). His next opportunity to return will come Week 16 versus the Falcons on Sunday, Dec. 21. In Knight's absence, Emari Demarcado and Michael Carter will carry the load at running back.

Suffers ankle injury
Knight exited Sunday's game at Houston due to an ankle injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact
Knight had his left ankle pinned under a Texans defender as he was tackled to the turf early in the first quarter. Per Urban, Knight was carted to the locker room and soon after was deemed questionable to return. Michael Carter and Emari Demercado are left as the likeliest candidates to carry Arizona's backfield for as long as Knight is sidelined.

Abysmal showing Sunday
Knight was held to 16 yards on seven carries while catching three of six targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 45-17 loss to the Rams.
Impact
Knight failed to take advantage of lead-back duties with both Trey Benson (knee) and Emari Demercado (ankle) still missing in action Sunday. The 24-year-old Knight struggled to generate much running room early on, falling victim to the blowout game script in the second half. The journeyman backup failed to mask his poor production with a trip to the end zone like we saw in Weeks 11 and 12. With the aforementioned teammates potentially nearing returns, Knight's brief run of fantasy utility could come to a close in short order, assuming it hasn't run dry already.

Receiving TD in Sunday's loss
Knight rushed 11 times for 62 yards and brought in all three targets for 36 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' 20-17 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Impact
Knight was the clear lead back with Emari Demercado (ankle) sidelined, and the journeyman put together a season-high yardage total while logging double-digit carries for the second straight game and fifth time in the last seven contests overall. Knight also averaged a season-high 5.6 yards per carry, and he recorded the first receiving touchdown of his career on a 15-yard grab during a broken play late in the third quarter. Despite the encouraging performance, Knight's role could be diminished significantly in a Week 14 home matchup against the Rams if Trey Benson (knee) returns from injured reserve.

Active in Week 13
Knight (knee) is listed as active Sunday in Tampa Bay.
Impact
Knight has battled lower-body injuries at times over the last month and a half, with a knee issue limiting him at all three Week 13 sessions and leaving him questionable for Sunday's contest. Now that he's confirmed to be available, he appears poised to get a majority share of the Cardinals' backfield reps considering Trey Benson (knee) remains on injured reserve and Emari Demercado is sitting out a second straight game due to a high-ankle sprain. Over the last five outings with various RB personnel available for Arizona, Knight has tallied 221 yards from scrimmage and two rushing TDs on 62 touches. Michael Carter is Knight's greatest threat to take on snaps.

Likely to play Week 13
Knight, who is officially questionable to play Sunday against the Buccaneers due to a knee injury, is expected to suit up, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
Knight was limited in all three practices this week while managing a knee issue. He was deemed questionable to suit up on Friday's final injury report, but it sounds like he's going to give it a go against Tampa Bay. Trey Benson (knee) and Emari Demercado (ankle) have both been ruled out for the contest, so Knight should serve as Arizona's top RB, though Michael Carter should get a fair amount of offensive snaps as well.

Status in question for Week 13
Knight (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.
Impact
With Trey Benson (knee) and Emari Demercado (ankle) ruled out for Week 13, Knight now is the only question mark among the Cardinals' running backs that are dealing with injuries. Knight's knee issue limited him in all three practices this week, and his status will be clarified about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Assuming he's able to suit up this weekend, he and Michael Carter likely will split the backfield reps in some fashion, but Jermar Jefferson also may be on hand for his first touch of the season.

Stays limited Thursday
Knight (knee) was listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Meanwhile, Trey Benson (knee), who remains on injured reserve, and Emari Demercado (ankle) were listed as non-participants, leaving Knight and Michael Carter as the healthiest of the Cardinals' top options at running back at the moment. Friday's practice report will reveal who among the quartet has a chance to suit up Sunday at Tampa Bay.

Tending to knee issue
Knight was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a knee injury, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact
Knight dealt with an ankle issue in advance of the previous two games, but he was active for both and combined for 23 touches for 77 yards from scrimmage and two rushing TDs. With a new health concern in tow, his activity level in practice remained the same Wednesday, while backfield mate Trey Benson (knee) also was limited, and Emari Demercado stayed sidelined due to a high-ankle sprain. The status of the trio will continue to be monitored, especially Benson, who will need to be activated from injured reserve in order to have a chance to play Sunday at Tampa Bay.

ROTOWIRE
Cashes in early TD
Knight rushed 10 times for 12 yards and a touchdown while catching four of five targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Jaguars.
Impact
Knight overcame a minor ankle injury in order to serve as the Cardinals' lead back sans Trey Benson (knee) and Emari Demercado (ankle). The 24-year-old Knight struggled with his efficiency yet again, but he managed to reward committed fantasy managers by punching in Arizona's only rushing score of the contest. Backup Michael Carter (5-28-0) finished as the team's leading rusher on half as many carries than Knight received, as the team continues to deploy multiple backs to help replace the early-season loss of James Conner (ankle). It will be important to monitor both Benson's and Demercado's status prior to next Sunday's tilt against Tampa Bay, as the return of either tailback could noticeably eat into Knight's potential workload in Week 13.
