Wil Lutz - NFL News, Rumors, & Updates

Misses lone FGA in Week 3 win Lutz missed his one field-goal attempt and went 2-for-2 on PATs in Sunday's 30-26 win over the Rams.

Impact With the Broncos trailing 16-0 in the first half, coach Sean Payton went for two after each of the team's first two touchdowns instead of using Lutz for the point-after attempts. Prior to that, Lutz missed a 43-yard field goal try when he hit the left upright. On the season, Lutz has attempted just four field goals and five extra points, making him an uninspiring fantasy kicker.

Answers when called in loss Lutz made his sole field-goal attempt and sole PAT in Monday night's 31-10 loss to the Chiefs.

Impact Lutz converted a 31-yard field goal and scored the extra point on the Broncos' second-drive touchdown. The kicker had a short night without much action as Bo Nix and the offense couldn't get out of its own way enough to get into field goal range.

Has solid hold on No. 1 kicker job Lutz, who signed a contract extension with Denver last November, enters the 2026 campaign as the team's clear primary kicker, Bob Morris of SI.com reports.

Impact Lutz has been very reliable since joining the Broncos in 2023, playing in all 51 of the team's regular-season games and making 89.0 percent of his field-goal tries. He's converted 12 of 18 attempts from 50-plus yards during that time and hasn't missed any extra points over the past two years. Morris notes that Lutz's contract includes no guaranteed money in 2028, but with most of his salary guaranteed from 2026 to 2027, the veteran kicker is essentially locked in as Denver's starting kicker for at least the next two years.
