Andy Dalton - Set to join Atlanta Dalton agreed to a one-year contract with the Falcons on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact Per Schefter, Atlanta plans to release Cooper Rush to make room on the 53-man roster for Dalton, who will likely slot ahead of undrafted rookie Jack Strand but behind Michael Penix and Tua Tagovailoa on the depth chart at quarterback. While he was with the Eagles earlier this season, Dalton beat out Tanner McKee for the No. 2 job coming out of the preseason. However, he had dropped to third on the depth chart and was ultimately cut after throwing a red-zone interception in his lone pass attempt with the Eagles while briefly filing in for starter Jalen Hurts in a Week 3 loss to the Bears.

Impact Penix and the Falcons faced a 28-7 deficit going into the fourth quarter, but he helped bring Atlanta back with 10- and five-yard scoring tosses to Kyle Pitts and subsequent two-point conversion passes to Zachariah Branch and Drake London, respectively. Penix also connected with Jahan Dotson for 13-yard scoring strike in the latter portion of the second quarter, and Sunday's game served as Penix's first multi-TD-pass effort of the season. The third-year signal-caller had also visited the medical tent in the first quarter for an undisclosed issue, but Penix appears to be healthy heading into a Week 7 home showdown against the 49ers on Sunday.
