Impact In particular, Shanahan told Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle that he's "hoping for better signs" that Mitchell is able to suit up Week 4 against the Seahawks after sitting out this past Sunday versus the Packers with what he considered "worse than a stinger" in the running back's right shoulder. With Mitchell sidelined and Raheem Mostert (knee) and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) on IR, Trey Sermon (59 percent of offensive snaps) and Kyle Juszczyk (69 percent) handled all the running back work, while Trenton Cannon and Kerryon Johnson saw action on special teams. Assuming Mitchell is able to return Sunday, it'll be interesting to see how the 49ers backfield will break down.

George Kittle - Managing calf injury Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Kittle has a sore calf and will be day-to-day, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Impact Kittle logged all 70 offensive snaps during Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Packers en route to team highs in catches (seven) and receiving yards (92) on nine targets. He almost doubled up his stat line (8-95-0) on the season prior to Week 3 in the process, but he also emerged from the contest with a health concern. Considering Shanahan's comments, Kittle likely will be limited in practice when the 49ers post their first injury report of the week Wednesday, after which his status bears watching for next Sunday's divisional showdown with the Seahawks.
