Tershawn Wharton - Missing two-to-four weeks Head coach Dave Canales told reporters Monday that Wharton (hamstring) is expected to miss two-to-four weeks, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Impact Wharton, who signed a three-year, $54 million deal with the Panthers in March, played just 18 defensive snaps before sustaining a hamstring injury in the Week 1 loss to the Jaguars. The first-year Panther made a major impact while on the field, recording four total tackles. This is likely a substantial loss to a new-look Panthers defensive line that allowed a whopping 5.2 yards per carry in 2024 -- the worst mark in the NFL. Expect Jaden Crumedy to see increased work as a rotational defensive lineman while Wharton remains sidelined.

Tommy Tremble - Likely backing up Sanders Tremble caught his only target for two yards in Sunday's 26-10 loss to the Jaguars.
Impact Tremble was dealing with a back injury prior to the Panthers' Week 1 loss and played just 29 offensive snaps -- 10 fewer than second-year tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders. Sanders also outpaced him in targets (three to one) and receptions (two to one), making it seem as if Tremble will serve as Carolina's No. 2 tight end this season. Impact The 2025 fourth-round pick from Georgia appears firmly behind both Chuba Hubbard and Rico Dowdle in Carolina's backfield, as Etienne played just two offensive snaps Sunday. However, the 21-year-old served as the Panthers' top kick and punt returner, logging 43 kick-return yards. Etienne is expected to remain a depth option in Carolina's backfield ahead of a Week 2 matchup with the Cardinals.
