INJURIES

Not practicing Wednesday Coach Brian Daboll said that Robinson (knee) won't practice Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact Robinson was forced out of the Giants' Week 1 win over the Titans due to a right knee injury, and he's currently considered day-to-day but has made progress since Sunday. The rookie second-round pick will have two more opportunities to upgrade to at least limited activity before the Giants take on the Panthers in Week 2.

It's time for Giants to unleash receiver Kadarius Toney

Saquon Barkley was a one-man show on Sunday, but he needs help. Ralph Vacchiano has a suggestion for the Giants: Play Kadarius Toney.

It's time for Giants to unleash receiver Kadarius Toney
Can't find room against Cincy Robinson caught all three of his targets for minus-3 yards in Sunday's 25-22 preseason win over the Bengals.
Impact New York made a conscious effort to get the ball into the rookie second-round pick's hands with short passes around the line of scrimmage, but the Cincinnati defense closed quickly, and Robinson failed to make people miss. Robinson brings a similar skill set to 2021 first-round pick Kadarius Toney, who sat this one out with a leg injury, but Toney's extra year of experience presumably puts him ahead of Robinson in the pecking order when both are healthy.

NFL odds: Mid-Round receivers that can contend for OROY
No targets in pro debut Robinson was listed as a starter but wasn't targeted in Thursday's 23-21 preseason win at New England.
Impact Fellow starting wide receiver Kenny Golladay and No. 1 quarterback Daniel Jones played the first two possessions of the game, so Robinson likely logged at least as much action as the established pair. A second-round pick in the 2022 Draft, Robinson impressed throughout the offseason program and training camp and was listed on the first-team offense on the Giants' first unofficial depth chart, putting himself in good standing in a receiving corps that's injury prone. At the moment, second-year pro Kadarius Toney (leg) isn't practicing, and Sterling Shepard (Achilles) remains on the PUP list, leaving Golladay, Robinson and Darius Slayton as the team's top healthy options.

On depth chart as first-teamer Robinson is listed as a first-team wide receiver on the Giants' first unofficial depth chart.
Impact New York has yet to play its first preseason game and Sterling Shepard is listed at the end of the depth chart since he is on the PUP list while recovering from a torn Achilles, so Robinson's placement is far from set in stone. Still, it's an indication that the Giants think highly of the 21-year-old rookie receiver, who they selected in the second round of the draft in April. Should Robinson carve out significant playing time this season, he could prove to be a steal for managers selecting him at the back end of fantasy drafts.

Avoids injury scare Robinson left Thursday's practice early after getting hit in the back and landing hard, but he was able to practice Friday, Dan Benton of Giants Wire reports.
Impact Robinson appears to have avoided an injury Thursday and should continue to take valuable reps in training camp. The rookie second-round pick out of Kentucky will be jostling for playing time in a Giants receiving corps that also includes Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, Sterling Shepard (Achilles) and Darius Slayton.

Breaking Down Giants Second-round Pick WanDale Robinson The Giants’ selection of Kentucky receiver Wan’Dale Robinson isn’t so surprising considering what he brings to the table.
APRIL 30, 2022 • STAR-TELEGRAM.COM
Big Apple-bound The Giants selected Robinson in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 43rd overall.
Impact This is an interesting pick for the Giants as Robinson is a versatile piece who was not quite expected to go this high. Robinson began his career at Nebraska, where he split time between running back and receiver. He transferred to Kentucky for 2021 and was the engine of the Wildcats' passing game, catching 104 of 144 targets for 1,334 yards and seven touchdowns. Robinson is on the smaller end at 5-foot-8 and 178 pounds, but he's a tough runner with 4.44 speed. Per PFF, Robinson forced 22 missed tackles at Kentucky. Kadarius Toney, who is reportedly being shopped by the Giants, has a similar skill set where his best trait is running after the catch, so Robinson could be a viable replacement if the latter is moved before the season.
