Inks deal with New England The Patriots signed Vizcaino on Friday.

Impact Vizcaino worked out with the Patriots during the team's minicamp practices this week and apparently did enough to supplant Quinn Nordin, who hasn't been practicing this spring, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. With Nordin let go, Vizcaino will likely head into training camp as the primary backup to Nick Folk, who signed a two-year, $5 million deal this offseason.

Impact It's a significant development for Vizcaino and the Chargers, as kicker Dustin Hopkins tested positive for the virus Tuesday. Hopkins still has a chance to clear the health and safety protocols in time to play Sunday against Denver, but Vizcaino is set to take over if Hopkins is unavailable.
