INJURIES

TE snap leader in loss Quitoriano failed to catch any of three targets in Sunday's 27-14 loss to Cleveland in Week 13.
Impact Quitoriano remained the leader in snaps from the tight end position, receiving 40 plays with Jordan Akins (34) and Brevin Jordan (24) following. O.J. Howard was inactive for the first time this season. Quitoriano is seen as the Texans' best blocker at the position, which is useful for a team that's had issues at quarterback and relies on rookie running back Dameon Pierce for much of its offense.

Collects two catches in loss Quitoriano caught two of two targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 30-15 loss to the Dolphins in Week 12.
Impact Quitoriano led Houston's tight ends in snaps for a second consecutive game, establishing himself as the starter. Jordan Akins is the one with the most fantasy potential, but Quitoriano is the more trusted blocker on a team that wants to run more than pass. It's conceivable the Texans re-introduce Brevin Jordan -- inactive for three straight weeks -- but that playing time would likely come at the expense of O.J. Howard.

Leads position in snaps Quitoriano led all Houston tight ends with 37 offensive snaps in Sunday's 23-10 loss to Washington.
Impact Quitoriano did not catch his lone target -- a red zone look -- but he was in the starting lineup and was used more than other TEs, a strong a sign the coaching staff wants to evaluate him down the stretch. The 2022 fifth-round pick missed the season's first eight games due to a knee injury.

More snaps, no targets Quitoriano was not targeted over 27 snaps in Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Giants in Week 10.
Impact After scoring a touchdown in his season debut Week 9, Quitoriano was given more snaps -- up from 18 -- but it didn't translate into targets. An interesting development, however, was that Brevin Jordan was made a healthy inactive, suggesting Quitoriano may be one of the three active tight ends on the roster going forward.

Poised for more snaps Quitoriano could play an expanded role in Sunday's game against the Giants, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Quitoriano made his season debut in Week 9, catching a touchdown pass while playing 18 snaps. The 2022 fifth-round draft pick out of Oregon State can bolster the "Y" position -- the in-line blocking tight end that is most often considered an extra tackle -- against the New York defense the blitzes more frequently than any other NFL team and pressures quarterbacks at the ninth-highest rate.

Scores in season debut Quitoriano caught his lone target for a two-yard touchdown reception in Thursday's 29-17 loss to Philadelphia in Week 9.
Impact Quitoriano made his season debut after managing knee swelling since training camp. His TD came on Houston's first drive and was a contested 50-50 ball. It was an odd night for targeting, as the Texans' top two receivers -- Brandin Cooks (personal) and Nico Collins (groin) -- were inactive. There's no reason to believe Quitoriano will play a large role going forward.

Officially activated The Texans restored Quitoriano (knee) to the active roster Thursday.
Impact Quitoriano sustained a knee injury in the preseason and was placed on the Texans' IR ahead of the regular season. The fifth-round rookie was then designated to return to practice Week 7, and he will now be available to play for the first time ahead of Thursday's game against the Eagles. Quitoriano will jostle with Brevin Jordan, O.J. Howard and Jordan Akins for playing time in Houston's crowded tight-end room moving forward.

Nearing return Quitoriano (knee) will be added to the 53-man roster Thursday, Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com reports.
Impact Quitoriano is expected to make his NFL debut Thursday against the Eagles. The rookie, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 Draft, has been recovering from a knee injury suffered during training camp. How big of a role he may see out of the gate is hard to say, as currently Brevin Jordan, O.J. Howard and Jordan Akins seem to be in a three-way timeshare at the position.
NOVEMBER 3, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Designated to return Quitoriano (knee) was designated to return from the Texans' injured reserve Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Impact Quitoriano missed the first six games of the season after being placed on Houston's IR ahead of the regular season. Now, the rookie tight end will have a 21-day window to practice and return to the active roster; otherwise, he will be placed on season-ending IR. Quitoriano's first chance to play will come in Sunday's game against the Raiders, though he may start out in a limited role with tight ends Brevin Jordan, O.J. Howard and Jordan Akins already on the roster.

Scores in preseason win Quitoriano caught his lone target for a six-yard touchdown in Friday's preseason win over the Rams.
Impact Quitoriano made his professional debut Friday after being held out of last week's preseason opener. With injuries to tight ends Pharaoh Brown (hamstring) and Antony Auclair (knee), Quitoriano was able to make a case for a spot on the final roster. The fifth-round draft pick is currently listed fourth on the depth chart. Houston is expected to be run-heavy and may keep four tight ends, but a decision may come down to whether Houston wants a fourth tight end or a fullback, such as Andy Janovich.
AUGUST 20, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Activated from PUP list Quitoriano (undisclosed) was activated from the active/PUP list Monday, Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reports.
Impact Quitoriano spent less than a week on the active/PUP list to begin training camp. The rookie fifth-round pick out of Oregon State will compete for a depth role at tight end with the Texans.
AUGUST 1, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Added to PUP list Quitoriano (undisclosed) was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list by the Texans on Tuesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact It's unclear for what reason Quitoriano will start the first training camp of his career on the PUP list, but he is still eligible to practice and play at any point this preseason. When healthy, the fifth-round pick out of Oregon State should compete for a depth role at tight end behind Brevin Jordan and Pharaoh Brown heading into the regular season.

Another George Kittle?: Texans Rookie TE Teagan Quitoriano Hopes So Teagan Quitoriano wants to be the Texans’ version of San Francisco’s stellar tight end
MAY 5, 2022 • STAR-TELEGRAM.COM
H-Town bound The Texans selected Quitoriano in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 170th overall.
Impact Quitoriano wasn't heavily utilized in the passing game at Oregon State but he was efficient when targeted, catching 40 of 54 career targets for 512 yards and six touchdowns. He has a basketball background and could just be scratching the surface of what he can be on the gridiron. He gives Houston a more conventionally sized option at tight end behind Brevin Jordan.
