Effective in spot start Michel ran for 121 yards and one touchdown on 24 carries and caught three passes for eight yards on four targets in Sunday's 37-7 win over Jacksonville.

Impact Darrell Henderson (thigh) was active but available only in an emergency, leaving just Michel and undrafted rookie Mekhi Sargent (two carries for five yards) to suit up at running back for the Rams. The Jaguars unsurprisingly stood no chance in this game, and Michel was one of the main beneficiaries as he saw his usage spike upward against the vulnerable defense. That elevated usage was dependent on Henderson's absence, though, so if Henderson can play against Arizona in Week 14 then Michel will likely return to an abbreviated bench role.

Impact Henderson's injury isn't thought to be serious, but he was held out of practice Wednesday and Thursday, which likely puts him on the wrong side of questionable ahead of a game in which the Rams are heavy favorites. There's also a scenario where Henderson is active and starts, but shares more of the workload with Michel than usual. When healthy, Henderson typically has handled a three-down role, with a large portion of Michel's snaps either coming in garbage time or when Henderson was banged up. That said, head coach Sean McVay made it clear he trusts Michel to lead the Rams' rushing attack and keep the team on schedule, even making a comparison to 2018 when C.J. Anderson stepped in for the more explosive Todd Gurley and helped the Rams reach a Super Bowl. The team doesn't expect Henderson to miss an extended period the way Gurley did that season, but it sounds like Michel could be busy for the next week or two.

Impact It was another quiet showing from Michel. He's accumulated just seven touches and three targets over the past two games while playing only 26 offensive snaps. As long as Darrell Henderson is healthy and receiving the bulk of work out of the backfield, there isn't a lot of opportunity left over for the former Patriot. It will probably take an injury to Henderson for Michel to make a fantasy impact the rest of the season.

Impact While Michel continues to play second fiddle to No. 1 running back Darrell Henderson, the latter has missed time in each of the past two games. Henderson was evaluated for a concussion Monday, and last week he sustained an ankle injury that cost him most of the second quarter. Michel has filled in admirably when given opportunities, but head coach Sean McVay remains steadfast in sticking to a go-to rusher, and Henderson has the role secured for the time being. Still, Henderson has been anything but a beacon of health through his first three seasons in the league, so Michel should remain rostered in most fantasy settings.

Impact With the Rams in cruise control for the majority of Sunday's game, Michel's played 20 of 67 offensive snaps and had one of his most productive fantasy games of the campaign. However, it's important to note Michel's uptick in playing time was likely more to do with game flow than anything else. The first-year Ram remains firmly behind No. 1 running back Darrell Henderson in the pecking order, and Michel is a tough start in the majority of fantasy settings as long as Henderson is healthy.

All said, Michel remains a risky start in the majority of fantasy settings as long as No. 1 running back Darrell Henderson is healthy.
