Back at practice
Michel (quad) has returned to practice, Doug Kyed of NESN.com reports.
Impact
Michel's 21-day window to be activated off IR thus commences, and if the running back has a setback-free week of practice he could return to the Patriots' backfield mix as soon as Monday night against the Jets.

Removed from COVID-19 list
Michel (quad/illness) was removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact
Michel is still on injured reserve for at least one more week, but it's encouraging to see the running back removed from the COVID-19 designation after landing on the list two weeks ago. The combination of Damien Harris, James White and Rex Burkhead will continue to shoulder most of the running back load while Michel continues to recover from a quad injury that landed him on injured reserve earlier in the month.

Placed on COVID-19 list
Michel (quad/illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Impact
It's worth reiterating a player can be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list without necessarily testing positive for the virus, particularly after the NFL added a new "high risk" close contact category to the protocol earlier in the week. Michel, who was placed on injured reserve in early October due to a quad injury, was likely a few weeks away from being activated off injured reserve anyway, so this designation does little to change his fantasy stock for the immediate future.

Goes on IR
Michel (quad) has been placed on IR by the Patriots, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
The move corresponds with Damien Harris (finger) being activated off IR by the team, with Michel now slated to miss at least three games. On the plus side, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggests that Michel "could come off (IR) relatively quickly. So, not a season-ending injury." Upon his return, which could come as soon as New England's Nov. 1 game against the Bills, Michel's role will hinge largely on how well Harris is performing at that juncture, as well as the health of the remainder of the team's backfield, which also includes James White, Rex Burkhead and J.J. Taylor.

Ruled out for Monday
Michel (quadriceps) has been downgraded to 'out' for Monday's game in Kansas City, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Impact
The extra day wasn't enough for Michel to recover from his quad injury. Meanwhile, the Patriots have until 4:00 p.m. ET on Monday to announce if they're activating Damien Harris (finger) from injured reserve. James White, Rex Burkhead and J.J. Taylor are the other running backs on the roster.

Listed as questionable
Michel (quad) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs after practicing in a limited fashion this week, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.
Impact
Michel, who carried nine times for 117 yards against the Raiders this past Sunday, is one of five players listed as questionable by the Patriots this week. One thing that could provide a clue as to his chances of playing this weekend is how the team proceeds with Damien Harris (finger), who's now eligible to return from IR after returning to practice, but has yet to be added to New England's active roster. In any case, if Michel is able to suit up Sunday, he's not guaranteed a big workload in Week 4, despite his strong effort against Las Vegas. In addition to Harris' possible return, Week 3 star Rex Burkhead is in the mix, while James White (personal) is back with the team and rookie J.J. Taylor is also on hand.

Logs another limited session
Michel (quad) remained limited at practice Thursday.
Impact
Michel is trending toward being officially listed as questionable for Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff against the Chiefs. If Michel does suit up this weekend, he'll be part of a crowded New England backfield that also includes Week 3 star Rex Burkhead, change-of-pace ace James White and possibly even Damien Harris (finger), who returned to practice Wednesday.
