Snaps back with productive effort Succop successfully made field-goal attempts of 31, 30 and 26 yards and also drilled his only extra-point try in the Buccaneers' 27-22 loss to the Ravens on Thursday night.
Impact The veteran kicker was back to his usual level of production after a lackluster Week 7 during which he had only one kick attempt. Succop's field-goal makes were all from very manageable distances, but that doesn't take away from the fact the 14-year veteran currently boasts a career-best 95.0 percent success rate on field goals and has missed just one of 29 total kick attempts all season when factoring in PATs.

Frustrated Brady, skidding Bucs seeking answers to tailspin

Tom Brady sat in front of his locker in full uniform for several minutes, his head buried at times in his hands

Held down by offense Succop parlayed his only kick attempt into a 27-yard field goal during the Buccaneers' 21-3 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.
Impact The veteran kicker generated his lowest output of the season in Tampa Bay's forgettable performance. The offense's inability to drive down the field consistently and the decision to go for it on fourth down on two occasions inside field-goal range conspired to make it a near washout of an afternoon for Succop, who'll hope for more opportunities in Thursday night's Week 8 battle versus the Ravens.

Brady: Struggling Bucs need to look in mirror, play better

It’s not difficult to see why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are off to a disappointing 3-3 start
OCTOBER 17, 2022 • Associated Press
Busy afternoon in Week 6 loss Succop converted field-goal attempts of 30, 27, 54 and 24 yards in the Buccaneers' 20-18 loss to the Steelers on Sunday.
Impact Succop didn't have a chance to attempt an extra point for the second time this season, as the Buccaneers went for a two-point conversion after their one touchdown. However, Succop's perfect tally on field goals served as an extension of what is turning into a potential career-best season for the veteran, who's only missed one attempt all season back in Week 1 and has been perfect on eight PATs as well.
OCTOBER 17, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Another seven-point tally Sunday Succop converted field-goal attempts from 21 and 44 yards and also drilled his only extra-point try in the Buccaneers' 21-15 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Impact The veteran kicker turned in another unblemished performance, and he was shorted one PAT opportunity when the Buccaneers went for two points following a Leonard Fournette one-yard receiving score in the third quarter. Succop hasn't been as productive a fantasy kicker overall as was expected coming into the season due to some of the struggles of the frequently short-handed offense, but he's sitting on a 91.7 percent success rate across his 12 field-goal attempts and has been perfect on eight extra-point tries.

Notches seven points in loss Succop hit his only field-goal attempt from 45 yards and drilled all four PATs in the Buccaneers' 41-31 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday night.
Impact Succop made good on all his chances to put points on the board, continuing the strong start to his season in the disappointing home loss. The veteran boasts a 90 percent success rate on field goals and remains perfect on his seven extra-point tries, and a Week 5 home matchup versus the Falcons could yield an abundance of scoring opportunities given Atlanta's defensive deficiencies.

Patriots face Packers with Hoyer at QB for injured Jones

Patriots QB Mac Jones made a surprise return to practice but was ruled out for the game with an ankle injury
SEPTEMBER 29, 2022 • Associated Press
Solid showing in low-scoring loss Succop made a pair of field-goal attempts of 45 yards apiece and did not attempt any extra points in the Buccaneers' 14-12 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Impact Succop made the most of his scant opportunities Sunday, managing to produce a serviceable six-point tally for fantasy managers with another strong day on field goals. The Buccaneers' offense didn't provide Succop anywhere near the usual number of chances to put points on the board, and Tampa Bay went for two points after its sole touchdown with 14 seconds remaining in the game. Succop's outlook for a Week 4 showdown against the Chiefs is seemingly much brighter, considering the Buccaneers project to have Mike Evans (suspension) and Julio Jones (knee) back, at minimum, to shore up the receiving corps.

Perfect on four kicks in Week 2 Succop drilled a pair of 47-yard field goals and both of his extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 20-10 win over the Saints on Sunday.
Impact The veteran's contributions were key on a day when Tom Brady was dealing with a short-handed receiving corps and a Saints defense that's consistently given him fits in recent seasons. Succop quickly has validated the Buccaneers' decision to roll with him for another season after a training camp/preseason battle with Jose Borregales, going 6-for-7 on field goals and converting all three PATs through two games.

Tom Brady in middle of skirmish as Bucs win in New Orleans
Impresses with opportunity Saturday Succop made his only kick of Saturday night's 13-3 preseason loss to the Titans, a 52-yard field-goal attempt.
Impact The veteran placekicker likely doesn't have much to prove anyhow, so the sparse number of opportunities on a lackluster night for the Buccaneers offense won't really affect his overall outlook in his job battle with Jose Borregales. However, the fact Succop was able to drill a kick of impressive distance with his one chance certainly does nothing but help his standing, yet the final chapter of the competition should unfold over practice this coming week and Saturday night's road exhibition finale against the Colts.

Remains in heated job battle Succop, who went 7-for-7 on field-goal attempts in Thursday's joint practice with the Dolphins, remains in a very close competition with the equally impressive Jose Borregales for...
Impact The veteran and Borregales have typically been alternating days where they serve as the sole placekicker in practice, and each seemingly continues to run neck-and-neck with the other. Succop's perfect day Thursday followed a 6-for-7 performance by Borregales on Wednesday, but both kickers have had their share of unblemished and near-perfect efforts thus far. Succop seemingly enjoyed an advantage coming in due to his incumbent status, but if each player performs very similarly during preseason games, the fact Succop's cap hit of $4.5 million significantly outpaces Borregales' $870,000 figure could be the tiebreaker.

Healthy and competing in camp Succop, who dealt with an undisclosed offseason injury, has been participating fully in practice since the start of training camp and is attempting to hold off Jose Borregales for...
Impact Succop's 83.3 percent accuracy on field goals last season left something to be desired, and his 70.0 percent success rate from 40-49 yards was his lowest in that range since 2014. Succop is therefore going to have to fight for his roster spot this summer, and although the 35-year-old did go a perfect 6-for-6 in Wednesday's practice, Borregales has gone a combined 14-for-16 himself over his first two kicking sessions.

APRIL 30, 2022 • SPORTINGNEWS.COM
Getting competition this summer Succop is expected to compete with Jose Borregales for the starting placekicker job in training camp, Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Succop finished 23rd in field-goal percentage in 2021, going 25-for-30 for a success rate of 83.3 percent. The veteran has undoubtedly been a key to the team's success over the last two seasons, and he produced the second-highest point tally of his career (131) in 2021. However, the 35-year-old's accuracy on field goals saw a seven-percentage-point drop compared to 2020, and the Buccaneers are clearly high on Borregales' potential after putting him on the practice-squad protected list every week last season before signing him in January to a reserve/future contract that keeps him on the books through 2023.

Closes season with nine points Succop drilled field-goal attempts of 45 and 31 yards, missed wide right on a 48-yard try and connected on all three PATs during the Buccaneers' 30-27 loss to the Rams in their NFC...
Impact Succop's miss came early in the second quarter but loomed large later, considering the Buccaneers' final margin of defeat. The veteran otherwise was productive in the season-ending loss and drilled nine of his 10 postseason kicks following a reasonably successful regular season in which he posted the second-highest point tally of his career (131). Succop is under contract for 2022 at a cap hit of $4 million, but if the Tampa Bay offense is helmed by a quarterback other than Tom Brady, the 35-year-old could see his fantasy value take a hit.

Makes all five kicks Sunday Succop connected on his sole field-goal attempt from 34 yards out and drilled all four extra-point attempts during the Buccaneers' 31-15 wild-card win over the Eagles on Sunday.
Impact With the Buccaneers offense operating at near-peak efficiency, Succop only was called upon for one field-goal try. The seven-point tally wasn't much to write home about for fantasy managers rolling with Succop in postseason contests, but he could be afforded more field-goal opportunities when Tampa Bay goes up against the Rams' tough defense in Sunday's divisional-round matchup.
