Impact Patterson was an exclusive rights free agent, who spent time with the Vikings and Patriots before finding a home with the Lions in his rookie season. The 22-year-old served as Detroit's kicker for seven games, making 13 of 14 field goal attempts and all 16 of his extra-point attempts. With Austin Seibert (hip) and Aldrick Rosas still on the Lions' roster, Patterson will still have to earn the starting job next season.

While it may seem hard to trust a Detroit team that lost or tied each of its first 11 games of the year, the offense seems to have turned a corner with head coach Dan Campbell calling plays, and Patterson could continue to benefit in Week 17 against Seattle.

Impact A wounded Lions team found an unbelievable amount of success against a Cardinals team that entered the week fourth in scoring defense. Patterson was a direct beneficiary and he did well to convert two kicks from 45 yards out and beyond. However, with Jared Goff (COVID-19) uncertain to play in Week 16 against Atlanta, Detroit may be hard pressed to build on this performance.

However, no fantasy managers should have been starting Patterson anyway. That should remain the case in Week 15 against Arizona even if Detroit gets closer to full health.

While Patterson is now locked in as the top kicker in Detroit with Austin Seibert (hip) on injured reserve, it will remain a challenge to bet on the Detroit offense down the stretch. Despite the recent success, Patterson will be a risky fantasy option in Week 14 against Denver.
