Sees 11 carries
Stevenson recorded 11 carries for 23 yards in Sunday's win over the Texans.
Impact
Stevenson saw an increased role in the offense throughout the game as Damien Harris battled both chest and rib injuries. Stevenson didn't do much with the opportunity, as his longest rush went for only nine yards. He also wasn't involved at all in the passing game, with Brandon Bolden instead logging four targets and four receptions. Though this wasn't a particularly impressive performance for Stevenson, it is worth noting that in addition to battling injuries, Harris also lost a fumble at the goal line Sunday. Both could contribute to an increased role for Stevenson in Week 6 against Dallas.

Back in lineup Sunday
Stevenson is active for Sunday's game against the Texans.
Impact
Stevenson will draw back into the lineup for the first time since Week 1, while J.J. Taylor is inactive. Look for Stevenson to mix in behind top back Damien Harris and change-of-pace option Brandon Bolden, but until the 2021 fourth-rounder logs steady playing time, he'll profile as a speculative fantasy option.

Logging another healthy scratch
Stevenson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
Impact
With James White (hip) on IR and Stevenson inactive, the Patriots' Week 4 backfield will be headed by Damien Harris, while Brandon Bolden and J.J. Taylor are candidates to absorb the bulk of White's vacated change-of-pace snaps.

Could rejoin backfield mix
With James White (hip) expected to miss the rest of the season, Stevenson is a candidate to reenter the Patriots' backfield mix after being a healthy inactive for the team's past t...
Impact
In the immediate aftermath of White's injury, it was Brandon Bolden -- normally a core special teamer -- who handled the bulk of the team's change-of-pace duties behind lead back Damien Harris. However, in the coming weeks as the Patriots look to fill the void created by White's absence, Stevenson and/or J.J. Taylor could have an opportunity to log extra snaps as well, especially if one or both can prove capable of handling blocking assignments. In any case, Stevenson seems likely to be active for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, though he'll remain off the fantasy radar until he solidifies a steady role in New England's offense.

Inactive Sunday
Stevenson is is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Impact
With Stevenson, who logged just one carry and a fumble in the Patriots' season opener, the odd man out in Week 2, J.J. Taylor - who was inactive last weekend - will draw into the team's lineup and work in a complementary role versus the Jets. Meanwhile, Damien Harris is in line to serve as New England's lead back and James White will handle pass-catching/change-of-pace duties.

Five snaps in Week 1
In his regular-season debut, Stevenson logged five of a possible 75 snaps on offense in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Dolphins, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Stevenson recorded just one carry for two yards and one catch for nine yards in the contest, while also losing a fumble. Meanwhile, top back Damien Harris logged 40 snaps and ran 23 times for 100 yards and caught two passes for 17 yards, with a fumble of his own. For his part, change-of-pace back James White (28 snaps) carried four times for 12 yards and hauled in six of his seven targets for 49 yards. For now, Stevenson's complementary role is evolving, and Reiss suggests that come Week 2, it's possible that J.J. Taylor, who was a healthy scratch Sunday, could sub in for Stevenson versus the Jets. In time, it's not hard to imagine Stevenson's early-down/short-yardage role in the offense increasing, but for now he's clearly behind Harris and White in the team's RB pecking order.

Not on injury report
Stevenson (thumb) isn't listed on the Patriots' Week 1 injury report.
Impact
Jeff Howe of The Athletic previously noted that Stevenson dislocated his thumb during practice last week, but the 2021 fourth-round pick looks like he'll be available for Sunday's season opener against the Dolphins. Though the Patriots in the past have tended to ease rookie backs into the equation, Stevenson -- who possesses a nice blend of power and nimble feet -- has a chance to mix in on early downs and perhaps short-yardage situations behind top option Damien Harris.

Impact
The 6-foot, 231-pound back looks like a candidate to serve as a short-yardage/goal-line option for the Patriots to begin the season after the team released quarterback Cam Newton and traded away Sony Michel to the Rams, but Stevenson's thumb injury suddenly threatens his availability for Week 1. Though the Patriots believe he might be OK for the season opener, Stevenson will have to prove in practice this week that the thumb issue doesn't affect his ability to securely handle or catch the football. Later Wednesday, New England will release its first official practice report of the season, which will reveal the extent of Stevenson's participation.

Scores once again
Stevenson rushed five times for 23 yards and a touchdown and caught both his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 22-20 preseason win over the Giants.
Impact
Stevenson capped his excellent preseason with another standout performance. Although he failed on a two-point conversion attempt in the third quarter, Stevenson responded by scoring from nine yards on New England's next drive. The rookie fourth-rounder now will aim to keep his considerable momentum going in Week 1 against the Dolphins, when he'll likely be the Patriots' second rushing option behind Damien Harris.
