Gerald Everett - Targeted four times Everett caught two of four targets for 10 yards in Saturday's preseason win over the Bengals.
Impact Everett got a lot of playing time on the first-team offense for a second straight week, including as the lone tight end in three-wide formations. Everett's usage has led to concern about Cole Kmet failing to match his near-every-down role from the past three season, but even if that happens, it's unlikely Everett would get enough snaps/routes to achieve mainstream fantasy utility of his own.

Cole Kmet - Rotates with Everett Kmet caught his lone target for nine yards in Saturday's 27-3 preseason win over Cincinnati.
Impact Kmet and Gerald Everett rotated on the first-team offense for a second straight week, with the latter catching two of four targets for 10 yards in Saturday's win. Everett's involvement -- after signing a two-year, $12 million contract -- creates reasonable concerns about Kmet not matching his robust snap shares from the past three seasons, but Kmet could still take the lion's share of playing time once the games actually matter.

Dante Pettis - Catches two TDs Pettis caught each of his three targets for 53 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-3 preseason win over the Bengals on Saturday.
Impact A 2018 second-round pick, Pettis was the Bears' No. 3 receiver as recently as 2022 but didn't play in 2023 after suffering a back injury last August. He's now battling for one of the final roster spots, having caught each of his three passes Saturday in the third quarter after starting QB Caleb Williams was pulled from the game.

Jermaine Burton - Hauls in lone target Burton caught his lone target for a 19-yard gain in Saturday's 27-3 preseason loss to Chicago.
Impact Burton started and got a lot of playing time early, while Ja'Marr Chase (contract), Tee Higgins, Andrei Iosivas and Trenton Irwin all were rested. Higgins, Iosivas and Irwin all worked ahead of Burton in the previous preseason game, but Burton came on strong in the second half to finish with a 3-82-1 receiving line on four targets in a loss to the Bucs. While he had a quieter game Saturday against Chicago and may enter Week 1 as a backup, Burton has at least done enough to give the Bengals some reminder of why they took him in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Starting the season lower on the depth chart doesn't mean he'll stay there all year.
