Impact: The report also notes that Williams' collarbone "checked out fine," offering hope that the wideout avoided a serious injury. If Williams ends up missing more than a few days, however, the Chargers may be forced to add some wide receiver depth, given the team's lack of proven options behind Keenan Allen and Williams.

Davante Adams GB - WR

News: Adams (foot/ankle) returned to practice Saturday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Impact: It took only three days for Adams to return from a foot/ankle injury that was deemed to be a minor issue by head coach Matt LaFleur. The 27-year-old remains the top pass catcher in the Packers offense among a smattering of other unproven or unreliable options.

Miles Sanders PHI - RB

Rotowire: Aug 19, 11:22a ET

News: Sanders is considered "week to week" with an unspecified lower-body injury, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Impact: Everything coming out of Eagles camp to date has fed the breakout hype surrounding Sanders, who enters his second pro season as the clear leader of the Philadelphia backfield. This injury should temporarily slow down the enthusiasm, though John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports the issue is "not too serious" and shouldn't keep Sanders out for Week 1 at Washington. If things were to take a turn for the worse, it likely would be Boston Scott and Corey Clement handling most of the backfield snaps in the season opener. The Eagles might also consider a veteran RB signing, something that was discussed earlier this offseason but never ended up happening. In any case, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network supports the notion that Sanders' injury isn't serious.

Nick Chubb CLE - RB

Rotowire: Aug 17, 4:19p ET

News: The Browns are evaluating Chubb for a possible concussion after he was on the receiving end of a hard tackle from teammate Mack Wilson during Monday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Impact: The incident occurred when Chubb reeled in a short pass before being met by Wilson, who hit him around the shoulder area. Chubb walked off the field with a trainer by his side and didn't return to practice, the Browns' first padded session of training camp. He'll presumably go through testing over the next day or two as the Browns look to confirm whether or not he sustained a concussion.

Travis Kelce KC - TE

News: The Chiefs and Kelce agreed to terms of a four-year extension Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Impact: The exact parameters of the deal haven't been revealed, but Rapoport notes the deal is worth between $14 and $15 million per year. With Kelce signed through the 2025 season, Patrick Mahomes has his top targets -- also, Tyreek Hill -- on hand to work with for the next three campaigns.

George Kittle SF - TE

Rotowire: Aug 13, 11:00a ET

News: Kittle and the 49ers have reached agreement on a five-year, $75 million extension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Impact: Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Kittle reported for the start of training camp with confidence his agent would work out a deal. This easily sets the record for a tight end contract, but it doesn't come close to the top of the market for wide receivers, which would've been a reasonable goal for a player who is known for his strong blocking and also is coming off back-to-back seasons with more than 75 receiving yards per game. In fantasy terms, Kittle remains locked in as a top-two tight end, perhaps ready to challenge Travis Kelce for the No. 1 spot. The 26-year-old could even see extra targets early in the season while Deebo Samuel (foot) works his way back from June surgery.

Derrius Guice WAS - RB

News: Guice has been released by the Washington Football Team following an off-field incident.

Impact: In a statement Friday, the team announced the running back's release in the wake of an alleged potential domestic violence-related incident that led to multiple charges being filed against Guice.

Matthew Stafford DET - QB

News: Stafford was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Impact: Stafford joins a number of other big-name Lions players that were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list over the past week. The designation means either Stafford tested positive or was in close proximity to someone who texted positive for COVID-19, so until more information is provided, speculation regarding his return timeframe is baseless.

Antonio Brown NE - WR

News: The NFL has suspended Brown eight games for violating the personal conduct policy, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Impact: According to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com, Brown's suspension will begin Sept. 5 and run through Week 8 of the regular season or his team's eighth game (assuming he signs with a team). He should be able to participate in training camp if he signs within the next couple weeks.

Kenny Golladay DET - WR

Rotowire: Jul 29, 5:49p ET

News: Golladay was placed on the Lions' reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Impact: Along with Golladay, tight end T.J. Hockenson was added to Detroit's COVID-19 list, with the duo's placement meaning both have either tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in close contact with an infected person. Golladay approaches the 2020 season as the Lions' top wide receiver.

Damien Williams KC - RB

News: The Chiefs announced Wednesday that Williams will opt out of the 2020 season.

Impact: Several players have already chosen to opt out of the 2020 season, but no player's decision to date has as significant fantasy implications as Williams'. With Williams slated to be unavailable this season, rookie first-round pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire is now on track to serve as the undisputed top running back in the Chiefs' high-powered offense.

Tua Tagovailoa MIA - QB

News: Tagovailoa (hip) passed a physical exam Wednesday and will practice without limitations once the Dolphins begin training camp, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.

Impact: The No. 5 overall pick enjoyed a smooth rehab process after undergoing surgery to address the hip dislocation he suffered Nov. 16 during his junior season at Alabama. The spring rumor mill suggested Tagovailoa might essentially redshirt his rookie year with the Dolphins, but it now seems he'll see the field at some point in 2020. It's less clear exactly when that will happen, with the cancellation of offseason programs and preseason games making it difficult for the rookie to unseat Ryan Fitzpatrick before Week 1. The Dolphins likely will open the season with the 37-year-old handling snaps, but they should turn to Tagovailoa if or when Fitzpatrick struggles, or if the team falls out of playoff contention.

Deebo Samuel SF - WR

News: 49ers general manager John Lynch acknowledged Tuesday that Samuel (foot) could miss multiple games, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. "Not going to put an exact timeline on it," Lynch said. "But it's fair to say [Samuel] may miss some games at the start of the year."

Impact: Samuel had surgery June 18 to address a Jones fracture, with early reports putting his recovery/rehab timeline at anywhere from eight to 16 weeks. Matt Barrows of the Athletic has mentioned a narrower window of 10-to-12 weeks, which still would put Samuel's Week 1 availability in serious question. With the second-year pro in danger of missing games, the Niners may need significant September contributions from Brandon Aiyuk and Kendrick Bourne, among others.

Dalvin Cook MIN - RB

News: Cooks' agent, Zac Hiller, refuted a report indicating that Cook told running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu he was planning to report to training camp Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact: Saturday has been a mess of miscommunication between Cook and the team through the media, which started with coach Mike Zimmer saying in the morning that Cook told him he would be reporting to camp Tuesday, which Hiller refuted later in the day. Another report indicated Cook relayed said information to Polamalu instead of Zimmer, which Hiller also says did not happen. Cook previously indicated he would hold out until he receives a "reasonable" extension, but Saturday's back and forth has been an unexpected curveball with training camp on the horizon. We'll find out Tuesday if Cook plans to follow through on the holdout.

News: Cook told running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu he plans to report to training camp Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Impact: Coach Mike Zimmer said earlier Saturday that Cook told him he would report to camp on time, but Cook's agent, Zac Hiller, refuted that information from Zimmer later in the day. The 25-year-old apparently had a similar conversation with his position coach, who then talked to Zimmer. Cook previously said he wouldn't report until he receives a "reasonable" extension, but the holdout penalties under the new CBA are much harsher than the previous agreement. Regardless of Saturday's "he said, he said" situation, things should receive some clarity soon with the Vikings only a couple days from the start of camp.

News: Cook's agent, Zac Hiller, said that Cook did not tell head coach Mike Zimmer that he would report to training camp Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact: Zimmer told the Minnesota media earlier Saturday that Cook told him he would not hold out and would report on time when Minnesota's training camp beings Tuesday. Heading into the final year of his rookie deal, in which he would play under a $1.3 million salary if not extended, Cook previously said he would hold out until he receives a "reasonable" extension. We'll have to see if Cook reports Tuesday or if he plans to hold out.

Jamal Adams SEA - S

Rotowire: Jul 25, 4:10p ET

News: Adams was traded from the Jets to the Seahawks on Saturday in exchange for safety Bradley McDougald and several draft picks, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Impact: The star safety wasn't making progress with the Jets in contract negotiations over the offseason and had expressed his desire to be traded. Adams voiced his displeasure with the Jets this week and will now head to the Seahawks ahead of the 2020 season. The 24-year-old will take over as Seattle's starting strong safety during the upcoming season after recording 75 tackles, 6.5 sacks and one interception over 14 games last season.

Dalvin Cook MIN - RB

News: Cook told Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer that he will report for the start of training camp Tuesday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Impact: Heading into the final year of his rookie deal, in which he would play under a $1.3 million salary if not extended, Cook previously said he would hold out until he receives a "reasonable" extension. It's not clear if he received a contract offer or had a change of heart. Either way, it looks far more likely he'll be on a regular schedule for Week 1.

Dak Prescott DAL - QB

News: Prescott will play under the Cowboys' franchise tag during the 2020 season after failing to reach a long-term extension with the team prior to Wednesday's deadline.

Impact: Prescott is now slated to earn $31.4 million in 2020 after signing the franchise tender back in late June, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com The two sides won't be able to open up extension talks until after the coming season, and it's possible that Prescott could play under the franchise tag again in 2021. In any case, the 26-year-old -- who logged a career high 4,902 passing yards in 2019 -- will continue to helm a Dallas offense that also features a strong wideout nucleus featuring Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and first-round draft pick CeeDee Lamb, as well as a top-tier running back in Ezekiel Elliott.

Derrick Henry TEN - RB

News: Henry agreed Wednesday with the Titans on a four-year deal worth $50 million, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact: Henry's new deal with Tennessee includes $25.5 million guaranteed and comes on the heels of the organization inking quarterback Ryan Tannehill to a long-term pact earlier this offseason. With that, Henry, who was the NFL's leading rusher in 2019 with 1,540 yards, will continue to head the Titans' backfield and remains a top option at his position in both real-life and fantasy terms. The Titans invested a third-round pick this spring into Darrynton Evans, who is slated to serve as a change-of-pace option behind the newly extended Henry.

Patrick Mahomes II KC - QB

News: Mahomes agreed Monday with the Chiefs on a 10-year contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact: The initial report doesn't provide details beyond the length, but there's no doubt it will be the largest contract in NFL history for both total value and guaranteed money. Mahomes is entering his fourth pro season and will turn 25 in September.

Cam Newton NE - QB

News: Newton has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact: Newton, who turned 31 last month, finally finds a home after he was released by the Panthers in March. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network notes that his incentive-laden one-year deal is worth up to $7.5 million, and it seems likely the contract includes a small guaranteed amount. In any case, Newton will enter a nice situation to maximize his talents in New England, and his combination of talent and experience should make him the favorite to enter the season as the starter. However, sophomore signal-caller Jarrett Stidham could still get a chance to compete, given the confidence coach Bill Belichick has expressed in him throughout the offseason.

Odell Beckham Jr. CLE - WR

News: Coach Kevin Stefanski says Beckham (abdomen) is fully recovered from offseason surgery, Andrew Gribble of the Browns' official site reports.

Impact: Beckham played through a sports hernia injury all of last season, suiting up for every game but producing a career-low 64.7 yards per contest. It sounds like he'll be ready to practice whenever the Browns are able to start training camp, while fellow wide receiver Jarvis Landry is facing a longer timeline in his rehab from February hip surgery. Beckham is a good bet to rebound in 2020, though his history of lower-body injuries suggests it may be a challenge to play all 16 games again.

Dak Prescott DAL - QB

News: Prescott signed his franchise tag from the Cowboys on Monday, David Helman of the team's official site reports.

Impact: The Cowboys extended the exclusive version of the tag, which gave Prescott no chance to talk with other organizations as a bargaining tool. With that figure at $31.4 million for the 2020 season, his representatives have until July 15 to reach agreement on a contract extension, but those talks have stalled as the Cowboys are aiming to lock Prescott into a five-year deal, while the quarterback is seeking four more years. In any case, Prescott now is obligated to report for the start of training camp.

The 26-year-old has been in communication with new coach Mike McCarthy despite not participating in the team's offseason program, but due to the offseason restrictions from COVID-19, he hasn't missed any on-field activities.

Deebo Samuel SF - WR

News: The 49ers revealed Thursday that Samuel suffered a Jones fracture in his left foot while training with teammates earlier this week, ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports.

Impact: Per the report, Samuel's injury -- which will require surgical repair -- entails "a break between the base and the middle part of the fifth metatarsal of the foot." While Ian Rapoport of NFL Network previously suggested that Samuel "should return within 12-16 weeks," a timetable that would presumably result in missed regular-season action for the wideout, ESPN's Adam Schefter offers the more optimistic take that Samuel is expected to be available for Week 1 action. Supporting that notion is that Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area relays that Samuel believes he'll be back in 10 weeks.

Ezekiel Elliott DAL - RB

News: Elliott is reportedly among the multiple Cowboys and Texans players who have recently tested positive for COVID-19, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.

Impact: Per the report, Elliott's agent relayed to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport that the running back is "feeling good." Gordon adds that none of the players who reportedly tested positive are thought "to have been in their team facilities and the Cowboys and Texans teams followed proper health protocols." In a statement that Rapoport obtained, the Cowboys noted "due to federal and local privacy laws, we are unable to provide information regarding the personal health of any of our employees."

Sony Michel NE - RB

News: Michel underwent foot surgery in May, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Impact: The procedure reportedly was "maintenance-based" to relieve lingering discomfort, rather than addressing a severe injury. It isn't clear if Michel will be ready for the start of training camp, though he's already back in Foxborough for rehab work. Damien Harris and Rex Burkhead should get more snaps with the first-team offense if Michel isn't available this summer. The 2018 first-round pick has a troubling history of right knee injuries -- he also dealt with ankle, arm and shoulder injuries in college -- but this is the first report of any issue with his foot.

News: Cook announced Monday that he intends to exercise a holdout from team activities until he receives a "reasonable" extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact: Heading into the final year of his rookie deal, in which he would play under a $1.3 million salary if not extended, it's not surprising to see Cook make use of what leverage he has and hold out from all team-related activities. Schefter reports that the Pro Bowler "will not be showing up for camp or beyond" until the Vikings offer him an extension, a hint that Cook could tentatively carry his holdout into the regular season should it come to that. The 24-year-old was one of the premier ball carriers in the league through 14 regular-season contests last season, accruing 1,135 yards on 250 carries (4.5 YPC), in addition to 13 touchdowns. He also showcased top notch receiving abilities, hauling in 53 passes for 519 yards. Behind Cook, Alexander Mattison and Mike Boone are next up on Minnesota's depth chart.
