Jets aren't ready to send Aaron Rodgers to the sideline as a lost season reaches the home stretch

Aaron Rodgers celebrated his 41st birthday with the news he’s still the New York Jets’ starting quarterback

Kene Nwangwu - Signs to active roster The Jets signed Nwangwu to their active roster Monday.
Impact The fourth-year pro from Iowa State made his Jets debut in a Week 13 loss to the Seahawks, returning three kickoffs for 157 yards, including a 99-yard touchdown. Nwangwu's performance Sunday was enough to land him a spot on the Jets' active roster, likely serving as the team's top kick returner and a depth piece in their running back room for the remainder of the season. In a corresponding move, the Jets waived 2023 fifth-round pick Israel Abanikanda.

Sauce Gardner - Status is murky Gardner's status for the week ahead is uncertain after suffering a hamstring injury in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Gardner appears in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Dolphins, although a firmer stance on his availability likely won't come until later in the week. In the meantime, his practice status in the days ahead will be worth monitoring.

Anders Carlson - Minimal volume in loss Carlson didn't attempt a field goal and made one of two PAT attempts in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact Carlson's PAT attempt was blocked after the Jets' first touchdown, so the Jets went for two after one of their other two scores. He also recovered a fumble by Seahawks kickoff return man Laviska Shenault. Greg Zuerlein (knee) is eligible to come off IR in Week 14 against the Dolphins, but if the veteran isn't ready to return, then Carlson would continue to kick for the Jets.

Kene Nwangwu - Scores 99-yard return TD in debut Nwangwu returned three kickoffs for 157 yards, including a 99-yard touchdown, in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact Nwangwu made an instant impact in his Jets debut after being elevated from the practice squad. His 99-yard kickoff return touchdown gave the Jets a 21-7 lead in the second quarter, but Seattle scored 19 unanswered points from there to drop the Jets to 3-9. Given Nwangwu's success in this game, he'll likely be elevated from the practice squad to return kickoffs again in Week 14 against the Dolphins.
DECEMBER 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Xavier Gipson - Cedes slot job to Corley Gipson caught his only target for minus-1 yard in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks. He also returned two kickoffs for 81 yards and added a punt return for no gain.
Impact Gipson played just 19 snaps on offense compared to Malachi Corley's 41, suggesting that Corley has surpasses Gipson as the Jets' preferred option in the slot. While Gipson remained involved as a return man on special teams, he also faces increased competition for that role, as Kene Nwangwu logged three kickoff returns in his Jets debut Sunday, one of which went for a 99-yard touchdown.
DECEMBER 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Jeremy Ruckert - Another one-catch outing Ruckert caught one of two targets for three yards in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact Ruckert saw a 25 percent snap share while starter Tyler Conklin had four catches and played 82 percent of snaps on offense. With 17 yards or fewer in every game this season, Ruckert remains firmly off the fantasy radar ahead of a Week 14 road game against the Dolphins.

Jets are sticking with struggling Aaron Rodgers as their starting quarterback

Aaron Rodgers will remain the Jets’ starting quarterback despite speculation the team could bench him for backup Tyrod Taylor.

Jets are sticking with struggling Aaron Rodgers as their starting quarterback
Tyler Conklin - Signs of life in loss Conklin caught four of five targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact Conklin's production in this game doesn't jump off the page, but it's still a clear improvement after he had just three catches for 12 yards over the previous three games combined. He has unsurprisingly struggled to find consistency as a secondary option in the underwhelming Jets passing offense. Heading into a Week 14 clash with the Dolphins, Conklin has caught 33 of 49 targets for 284 yards and two touchdowns.
DECEMBER 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Malachi Corley - Does little with decent snap share Corley didn't catch either of his two targets and added an eight-yard run in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact Corley played 41 snaps on offense (60 percent) to Xavier Gipson's 19, suggesting that the rookie third-round pick has become the Jets' preferred option in the slot for the stretch run. While the increased playing time is encouraging, Corley has yet to capitalize. He has just 42 career scrimmage yards, and Corley's most notable play to date was an 18-yard run on which he celebrated prematurely and threw the ball away just before crossing the goal line back in Week 9.
DECEMBER 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Isaiah Davis - Scores first NFL TD Davis rushed once for four yards while catching all three of his targets for 28 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact Davis got more opportunities in practice coming out of New York's Week 12 bye since Breece Hall missed practice reps due to a knee injury. The rookie out of South Dakota State capitalized on the field Sunday, scoring his first NFL touchdown on a four-yard shovel pass in the second quarter. Davis also set a career high with four touches on offense, though that was third-most among Jets running backs behind Hall (12) and Braelon Allen (seven). While Davis showed some promise as a pass catcher in this game, he'll be tough to trust from a fantasy standpoint as long as both Hall and Allen are available.
DECEMBER 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Braelon Allen - Seven touches against Seahawks Allen rushed five times for 11 yards and caught both of his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact Breece Hall got only 12 touches while playing through a knee injury, but third-stringer Isaiah Davis saw a bigger uptick in usage than Allen, as Davis scored his first NFL touchdown on one of his career-high four touches. With Hall still firmly entrenched atop the depth chart and Davis pushing for a larger role, Allen continues to have minimal short-term fantasy value ahead of a Week 14 trip to Miami.

Aaron Rodgers - Will retain starting job Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Monday that Rodgers will retain the Jets' starting quarterback job for the team's Week 14 game at Miami, Eric Allen of the team's official site...
Impact Ulbrich reaffirmed Rodgers' standing atop the depth chart after the veteran signal-caller endured another disappointing outing in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks, dropping the Jets to 3-9 on the season and putting the team on the brink of elimination from playoff contention. Coming out of a Week 12 bye, the Jets offense initially looked sharp with two first-quarter touchdowns, but Rodgers struggled to lead productive drives thereafter and threw a back-breaking pick-six midway through the second quarter that kicked off a stretch of 19 unanswered Seattle points to close out the game. Through his 12 starts this season, Rodgers has completed 62.5 percent of his passes for a career-low 6.3 yards per attempt, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions. While Rodgers will remain the Jets' starter for at least one more week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Sunday that the 41-year-old signal-caller is viewed as a longshot to return to the team in 2025. As such, it wouldn't be surprising if Rodgers was benched at some point down the stretch in favor of Tyrod Taylor.

Rodgers and the Jets stall after a promising start and now there are more questions about his future

Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets were driving for another score, a touchdown that could have sent the struggling squad to a big lead and perhaps a much-needed victory

Morgan Moses - Returns to contest Sunday Moses (shoulder) returned to Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv
Impact Moses briefly exited the game with a shoulder injury, ultimately returning to action afterwards. The offensive lineman's status at practice will still be worth monitoring ahead of the team's contest against Miami in Week 14.
DECEMBER 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Sauce Gardner - Suffers hamstring injury in loss Gardner suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Impact Gardner picked up a hamstring injury in the team's Week 13 loss, finishing his day with three solo tackles against Seattle. The cornerback's status at practice will be worth keeping an eye on ahead of New York's matchup with the Dolphins in Week 14.
DECEMBER 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Brandin Echols - Exits early in Week 13 Echols suffered from dehydration during Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Echols failed to record any stats on the day before his departure, but his status heading into Week 14 is likely not in question. His status at practice during the upcoming week will be worth monitoring, but the concern level is likely minimal at the moment.
DECEMBER 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Garrett Wilson - Does little with 10 targets Wilson caught five of 10 targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact Wilson dusted the Seattle cornerback with a slant-and-go route in the second quarter, but Aaron Rodgers missed him wide open in the end zone, and Rodgers threw a pick-six on the very next play while Wilson was still left searching for his first catch of the game. The standout wide receiver finished the first half with just three yards but got involved coming out of the locker room with a 17-yard catch on the first play of the third quarter. Wilson ultimately finished second on the team in receiving yards, 25 behind Davante Adams, as Rodgers threw for only 185 yards. Up next for Wilson is a Week 14 road game against the stout Dolphins secondary.
DECEMBER 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Breece Hall - Just 12 touches in loss Hall (knee) rushed 12 times for 60 yards and ran in a two-point conversion in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks. He didn't catch his only target and fumbled twice, losing one.
Impact After the Jets' PAT was blocked following their first touchdown, Hall ran in a two-point conversion to extend the lead to 14-0 after New York's second score. Hall tied his season low with just 12 touches, though, and he fumbled at the end of an 11-yard run in the third quarter. He was nursing a knee injury heading into the game, which likely explains why Hall ceded more touches than usual to backups Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis, who combined for 59 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on six carries and five targets. If Hall manages to avoid the injury report as the Jets prepare to face the Dolphins in Week 14, that could portend a larger workload against a Miami defense that has been more vulnerable to the run than the pass.
