INJURIES
Leaves Sunday's game
A back issue forced Williams to exit Sunday's game against the Falcons, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Williams wasn't targeted prior to his departure, and if he's unable to return to the contest, he'll look to bounce back in time for the Chargers' upcoming Thursday night tilt against the Raiders.

ROTOWIRE
Inefficient with nine targets
Williams caught four of nine targets for 43 yards during Sunday's 45-0 loss to the Patriots.
Impact
Williams tied for second on the team in targets but grabbed less than half the passes thrown his way and finished with a lackluster average of 10.8 yards per catch. He has now been held under 50 yards in three of the last four games and has just one touchdown in his last five. The downturn in production comes just after Williams seemed to be hitting his stride. He'll look to get back on track in an inviting matchup with the Falcons next Sunday.

Returns to full practice
Williams (non injury-related) practiced fully Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Williams missed practice Wednesday for a non-injury reason, but his return to a full session Thursday indicates that he's good to go for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Williams, who caught three of his five targets for 26 yards in this past Sunday's loss to the Bills, has been a hit-or-miss fantasy option over his last few games, but overall his floor is decent, as the wideout has averaged 3.2 catches and 52.9 yards to go along with four TDs in 10 games to date.

ROTOWIRE
Non-injury absence
Williams won't practice Wednesday for reasons unrelated to injury, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Williams will have two more chances to return to practice ahead of Sunday's contest against the Patriots, so there's not yet any real reason to worry about his availability.

ROTOWIRE
Records three receptions
Williams caught three of his five targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Bills.
Impact
While Williams saw more offensive snaps (67) than Jalen Guyton (63), they put on a similar performance, both catching three passes for little yardage. Williams' opportunities were limited by a talented Bills secondary, and a massive bump in production next week against the Patriots may not be likely.

Scores on four receptions vs. Jets
Williams caught four of seven targets for 72 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 34-28 win over the Jets.
Impact
Williams created one of the highlights of the game in the second quarter when he caught a pass across the middle and broke through defenders before racing for a 39-yard touchdown. He has now surpassed 70 yards in four of the last six games and has four touchdowns in that span. Williams seems to be developing beyond the feast-or-famine label he had earned over the last few seasons thanks to his improving rapport with Justin Herbert, and the duo will have a chance to continue its recent success in next Sunday's matchup with the Bills.

ROTOWIRE
Two receptions in loss
Williams caught two of his five targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Dolphins.
Impact
Williams was overshadowed by Jalen Guyton this week as the No. 3 receiver caught double the number of passes. Quarterback Justin Herbert didn't seem to look for Williams a lot until the fourth quarter, when he dropped two passes and one of his targets got intercepted. Williams also has not registered a touchdown in three consecutive weeks, but he could be poised for a nice outing with the lowly Jets on tap for Week 11.

ROTOWIRE
Dropped touchdown in final seconds
Williams registered five receptions off seven targets for 81 yards in the 31-26 loss to the Raiders on Sunday.
Impact
After just one game with 60-plus receiving yards through the first four weeks of the season, Williams now has three such games (and two in back-to-back weeks) in his last four contests. The nice day will be overshadowed by what amounted to a dropped touchdown from four yards out in the waning seconds as quarterback Justin Herbert lofted a pretty fade route near the right side of the end zone only to have Raiders cornerback Isaiah Johnson break up the pass at the last moment. Williams was escorted off by trainers following the play, but he did walk off under his own power. Provided the big-bodied wideout is healthy, Williams should see another favorable matchup next week when the team travels to take on the Dolphins.

Provides big plays
Williams recorded five receptions on eight targets for 99 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Broncos.
Impact
Williams bounced back from a one-catch performance in Week 7 to provide a number of big plays. The most notable came on a 24-yard one-handed touchdown catch in the corner of the end zone. He also added a 36-yard reception and was tackled at the two-yard line, falling just short of a multi-touchdown performance. Williams has been extremely inconsistent through six games, recording under 20 yards in three games and over 65 yards in the other three. He'll look to build on this strong performance in Week 9 in a matchup against the Raiders.

ROTOWIRE
Held in check by Jags
Williams secured one of three targets for four yards during Sunday's 39-29 win over the Jaguars.
Impact
Despite quarterback Justin Herbert throwing for 347 yards and three touchdowns, Williams was barely involved on offense. Keenan Allen accounted for 13 looks in his return to action, solidifying his status as Herbert's favorite target, but it's nonetheless disappointing to see Williams shut down after he went for 109 yards and two scores Week 5. The 2017 first-rounder will look to bounce back on the road against Denver in Week 8, lest he resurrect his former label as a 'boom-or-bust' fantasy option.

Big performance against Saints
Williams caught five of eight targets for 109 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 30-27 overtime loss to the Saints.
Impact
Williams turned in a stellar performance in his return from a hamstring injury, which actually coincided with teammate Keenan Allen exiting early Monday with a back issue. As the Chargers' top perimeter option, Williams hauled in a four-yard touchdown to begin the second quarter, then ran free for a wide-open, 64-yard score late in the fourth. While that play gave Los Angeles the lead, Williams still needed to make an acrobatic catch on a jump ball to put his team in field-goal range just before the end of regulation. Although his incredible effort wasn't rewarded by his kicker, Williams nonetheless made a great impact Monday, and whether Allen returns or not, Williams could be in store for a similarly strong showing in Week 6 versus the hapless Jets.

ROTOWIRE
Returning to action Monday
Williams (hamstring) is active for Monday's game at New Orleans.
Impact
Williams sat out Week 4 due to a hamstring injury suffered one game prior. In preparation for this contest, he followed a DNP/LP/LP practice regimen, after which Tom Pelissero of NFL Network noted Williams was "trending upward" toward a return. Indeed, Williams is back in the lineup Monday, but his in-game reps could have a cap in order to preserve his health. In any case, he'll aim to break through against a Saints defense that has given up 9.6 YPT and four touchdowns to wide receivers this season.

ROTOWIRE
Looking good for Monday night
Williams (hamstring) is trending in the right direction for Monday's game against the Saints, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Williams is officially listed as questionable after putting together back-to-back limited practices, but it looks as though he's got a fair shot at taking the field. A final word on the big-bodied wideout's status may not come until the Chargers' inactives are released ahead of Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.

ROTOWIRE
Draws questionable designation
Williams (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Saints, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Williams managed to string together limited participation in Friday's practice so it certainly appears as if the big-bodied wideout is trending in the right direction. Fantasy managers will want to monitor Williams' status ahead of Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff, with Jalen Guyton and Jason Moore likely to see a bump in playing time once more if the wideout is unable to play.

ROTOWIRE
Officially listed as limited Friday
Williams (hamstring) returned to practice in a limited fashion Friday, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Williams' return to practice is important, but his activity in Saturday's session will reveal more about his status for Monday's game against the Saints. If he misses a second straight game, Jalen Guyton and Jason Moore will likely see most of the snaps in three-receiver sets alongside Keenan Allen.

ROTOWIRE
Back at practice
Williams (hamstring) returned to practice Friday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Impact
The Chargers won't reveal until after the session whether Williams was a limited or full participant, but his return to practice in any capacity suggests that he could suit up Monday night against the Saints after sitting out the team's Week 4 loss to the Buccaneers.

ROTOWIRE
Misses practice Thursday
Williams (hamstring) is not practicing Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Coach Anthony Lynn said that Williams is "slowly working his way back" after having missed the Chargers' Week 4 contest against the Buccaneers due to a hamstring injury, per Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register. Williams will have two more chances to resume practicing before being tagged with an official injury designation for Monday's upcoming game against the Saints, but for now it looks as though he's trending in the wrong direction.

ROTOWIRE
Won't play Week 4
Williams (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest in Tampa Bay.
Impact
Williams didn't play much during the second half of the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Panthers. Late in the contest, he was deemed questionable to return due to a hamstring injury, an issue that kept him off the practice field this week. As such, it's no surprise Williams won't suit up Sunday. Look for Jalen Guyton to receive most of the reps at outside receiver as long as Williams is sidelined.

ROTOWIRE
Not practicing Friday
Williams (back) wasn't spotted at practice Friday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Impact
That's not a good sign with regard to Williams' Week 4 status and if he's ruled out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, added opportunities behind top wide receiver Keenan Allen would be available for Jalen Guyton and KJ Hill.

ROTOWIRE
Another missed practice
Williams (hamstring) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Back-to-back absences have set the stage for what Williams does at practice Friday to be pivotal with regard to his Week 4 status. If the wideout is limited or out Sunday against the Buccaneers, added work behind top wide receiver Keenan Allen would be on tap for Jalen Guyton and KJ Hill.

ROTOWIRE
Sits out practice Wednesday
Williams (hamstring) won't practice Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Williams' status will thus need to be tracked in advance of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. If he's limited or out this weekend, added snaps and targets behind behind top wide receiver Keenan Allen would be available for Jalen Guyton and KJ Hill.

Picks up hamstring injury
Williams injured his hamstring during Sunday's contest against the Panthers.
Impact
Williams spent much of the third quarter and some of the fourth in the sideline medical tent before the Chargers issued a diagnosis. The severity of the injury is unknown, but now the oft-injured wideout will need to be watched to determine whether he's in danger of missing time. If Williams needs to sit out a game or games, Jalen Guyton and Joe Reed would be the candidates to take on reps at outside receiver.

ROTOWIRE
Does little in Week 2
Williams recorded two receptions on four targets for 14 yards in a 23-20 overtime loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
Impact
It was a lackluster outing for Williams, particularly after re-asserting his deep-game prowess in the Week 1 win over the Bengals. That's in large part thanks to a game script that emphasized getting 2020 No. 6 overall pick Justin Herbert comfortable in his first career start, with Keenan Allen (seven catches for 96 yards) and Hunter Henry (six for 83 yards) racking up most of the team's passing yardage. It's still a bit troubling Williams only received four targets in a game where the Chargers attempted 33 passes, especially considering Herbert's deep ball should in theory aid Williams much more than that of nominal starter Tyrod Taylor.

ROTOWIRE
Trending closer to full health
Williams, who was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, is feeling "more explosive" after emerging from Sunday's win without aggravating his shoulder or 2019 knee injury, Dan...
Impact
Williams' shoulder injury was reportedly set to keep him out for three-to-four weeks, but after a week's worth of questionable designations, the big-bodied wideout managed to play Sunday and comfortable asserted himself as one of Tyrod Taylor's top targets. It's all the more impressive given Williams was limited by a knee injury for much of 2019 as well, sapping the Clemson product of some of his trademark leaping ability along with his speed after the catch. Williams heads into next week's matchup against the Chiefs closer to full health, which could be important considering he averages 54.2 yards and 5.4 targets in five career games against his division foe.
