Fantasy football inside info: Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Palmer and the top breakout pick on every team We asked our NFL writers to give us a breakout candidate for the team they cover, including Jacob Harris, Josh Palmer and more!

Role could expand With T.Y. Hilton potentially in line to multiple games due to an upper back or neck injury, Pittman, Zach Pascal and Parris Campbell appear poised to head the Colts' wide receiving...
Impact Also in the team's wideout mix battling for depth slotting are Mike Strachan, Ashton Dulin, Dezmon Patmon and DeMichael Harris. As a rookie, Pittman caught 40 passes for 503 yards and a TD in 13 games, but with Hilton now expected to miss time, the 2020 second-rounder has a chance to assume an expanded role with the team to start the coming season and in the process solidify his standing as a fantasy lineup option.

Snags one pass Saturday Pittman posted one catch (on two targets) for seven yards during Saturday's preseason victory at Minnesota.
Impact Even with veteran T.Y. Hilton taking a seat, Pittman wasn't targeted by starter Sam Ehlinger until the first play of the second quarter, and his only catch went for seven yards. Meanwhile, all of Mo Alie-Cox, Zach Pascal, Parris Campbell, Nyheim Hines and even Farrod Green earned targets before Pittman. Pittman seems to be vying with Pascal and Campbell for slotting on the wide receiver depth chart, but Carson Wentz's foot injury has led to uneven quarterback play from Ehlinger and Jacob Eason, the primary competitors for a potential Week 1 start.

Headed for second-year breakout? Colts GM Chris Ballard sees "breakout potential" in Pittman, according to Zak Keefer of The Athletic.
Impact Confidence in Pittman is one explanation for the Colts having a quiet offseason at the WR spot, despite having plenty of cap space and no clear No. 1 receiver. Granted, the Colts aren't putting everything on Pittman's shoulders, as they re-signed T.Y. Hilton to a one-year, $8 million contract, gave Zach Pascal a second-round RFA tender and still have hope that 2019 second-round pick Parris Campbell can finally stay healthy. Pittman, the 34th overall pick from the 2020 Draft, is the upside play for fantasy purposes, especially after he had 101 total yards in the playoff loss to Buffalo. It remains to be seen if he can develop good chemistry with new Colts quarterback Carson Wentz, who was an outright disaster in his final year with the Eagles.

Colts' comeback bid falls short in 27-24 loss to Bills

Colts coach Frank Reich was unable to manufacture another comeback in Buffalo as Indianapolis fell short in a 27-24 loss to the Bills in a wild-card playoff game

USC's Michael Pittman Jr. shines in playoff debut, Colts loss Trojan Michael Pittman Jr. ends his rookie NFL season with a solid playoff debut.

Leading receiver in playoff exit Pittman caught five of 10 targets for a team-high 90 yards and added an 11-yard carry in Saturday's 27-24 wild-card round loss to the Bills.
Impact Pittman racked up 102 scrimmage yards in the first half, but he also dropped a difficult but makeable catch in the end zone on 4th-and-goal late in the second quarter. He was a non-factor in the second half, losing one yard on his only catch. The rookie second-round pick topped 100 scrimmage yards only once in the regular season while reaching 50 in just three of 13 games, but hopefully Pittman will be able to build on this strong postseason debut heading into his sophomore season.

Just two grabs Week 17 Pittman secured both of his targets for 28 yards during Week 17's 28-14 win over the Jaguars.
Impact Pittman managed to clear the league's five-step concussion protocol in time to suit up Week 17, and he handed his usual starting role alongside T.Y. Hilton and Zach Pascal. The rookie second-round pick appeared in 13 regular-season games with the Colts, securing 40 of 61 targets for 503 yards and a touchdown. He'll look to continue his steady production in the postseason, beginning with Indianapolis' wild-card matchup in Buffalo on Saturday.
JANUARY 6, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared for Week 17 Pittman (concussion) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Impact Pittman was deemed questionable Friday, but he has since cleared the league's five-step concussion protocol. The rookie second-round pick is slated to start at wide receiver in the crucial divisional tilt. Pittman hasn't produced big plays lately, as he's failed to post more than 50 yards or a touchdown in a game since Week 11.
JANUARY 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Listed as questionable Pittman (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars after practicing fully both Thursday and Friday.
Impact Per Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis, the wideout still needs clearance from an independent neurologist in order to play this weekend. That said, Bowen relays that Pittman appears on track to receive the green light to play ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
JANUARY 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Logs full practice Pittman (concussion) practiced fully Thursday.
Impact Pittman was limited Wednesday, so his full participation Thursday would appear to give him a good chance of clearing the NFL's concussion protocol in advance of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Friday's final injury report of the week will confirm whether or not Pittman heads into the weekend with any questions regarding his Week 17 playing status.
DECEMBER 31, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Opens week with limited practice Pittman (concussion) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
Impact Pittman will need to fully clear the league's five-step concussion protocol in order to participate in Sunday's must-win season finale against Jacksonville, but it's good to see him practicing in some capacity after sustaining the head injury in last week's loss to the Steelers. The rookie second-round pick appeared to be breaking out in November with three consecutive games over 50 yards, but he hasn't reached that mark in his five appearances since.
DECEMBER 30, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Concussion confirmed Coach Frank Reich said Monday that Pittman is in the league's five-step concussion protocol, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Impact Pittman hauled in three of five targets for 38 yards before being force out of last weekend's loss to the Steelers due to the brain injury. He'll need to garner full medical clearance in order to suit up against the Jaguars on Sunday, with the Colts still competing for a playoff berth.
DECEMBER 28, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Possible concussion Pittman exited Sunday's game against the Steelers with a possible concussion, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Impact Prior to leaving the contest to be evaluated for a possible concussion, Pittman caught three of his five targets for 38 yards.
DECEMBER 27, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Tough outing against Texans Pittman caught two of three targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Texans.
Impact Pittman finished third among wide receivers in targets and receiving yards, as Zach Pascal and T.Y. Hilton both garnered six targets and recorded more than 70 yards. The rookie out of Arizona State is in a bit of a cold spell, as he has caught more than two passes just once over the past four games, failing to surpass 50 receiving yards or score a touchdown in any of those outings.
DECEMBER 22, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Posts 45 scrimmage yards Pittman caught two of five targets for 42 yards, adding a three-yard rush during Sunday's 44-27 win against the Raiders.
Impact The rookie posted two receptions of 19-plus yards during Week 14, however, he continues to endure a down stretch of fantasy production. Pittman racked up 14 catches for 223 yards and a touchdown between Weeks 9 and 11, but he's now been held under 50 receiving yards with no touchdowns over each of his past three outings. Workload remains consistent for the USC product, as he's attracted five-plus targets in five of his past six contests heading into a Week 15 matchup against the Texans.
