Lions feeling good about themselves after big win for Bevell

No matter what happens for the rest of his tenure as Detroit’s interim coach, Darrell Bevell has a memory he can treasure

Browns claim WR Marvin Hall Fourth-year pass-catcher has 17 receptions for 290 yards and 2 TDs this season
DECEMBER 7, 2020 • CLEVELANDBROWNS.COM
Claimed by Browns The Browns claimed Hall off waivers from the Lions on Monday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Impact Hall has 17 catches for 290 yards and two scores across 11 games with the Lions this season, and he could slot into a similar situational deep role with Cleveland once he's up to speed on the new playbook. Speaking of speed, the 27-year-old reportedly ran a 4.28-second 40-yard dash back at his pro day, so he'll bring an intriguing skill set to the Browns' roster. He also boasts some experience on special teams.

Lions cut Hall and downgrade Swift to doubtful to play Bears

The Detroit Lions have released receiver Marvin Hall and tight end Isaac Nauta
DECEMBER 5, 2020 • Associated Press
Officially waived Hall was officially let go by the Lions on Saturday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Hall has primarily filled in for Kenny Golladay (hip) since Week 8. While the latter remains out in Week 13, the Lions have opted to go in a different direction. As a result, rookie Quintez Cephus figures to be in line for more opportunities Sunday in Chicago. Hall will now look for a new opportunity.

Report: Lions waiving wide receiver Marvin Hall The Lions are waiving wide receiver Marvin Hall, according to an NFL Network report.
DECEMBER 5, 2020 • DETROITNEWS.COM
To be cut by Lions The Lions are expected to waive Hall, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Impact Hall has filled in for Kenny Golladay during the latter's current absence, subbing in for him when he injured his hip Week 8. In that contest against the Colts, Hall reeled off 113 yards on four catches and seven targets. However, in four games since then, he surpassed 30 receiving yards once and compiled a 10-121-1 line on 15 targets during that span. Once the move is official, the Lions seemingly will give rookie Quintez Cephus more chances with Golladay out again Sunday in Chicago.
DECEMBER 5, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Two catches against Texans Hall caught two of four targets for 16 yards during Thursday's 41-25 loss to Houston.
Impact Hall was a starting wideout in the absence of both Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip), but the speedster surprisingly wasn't much of a factor in this high-scoring affair. Instead, Detroit attacked the middle of the Texans defense, allowing T.J. Hockenson and the Lions' running game to fill up the stat sheet. While it's not clear if Golladay or Amendola could return for a Week 13 matchup against Chicago, Hall doesn't seem to be a reliable fantasy option regardless of the opportunity in front of him.

Sheds injury tag Hall (toe) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against Houston, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Impact Hall began the week with back-to-back limited practices, but he managed to practice fully Wednesday. With Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip) both sidelined, Hall should serve as one of Detroit's top three receivers versus the Texans.
NOVEMBER 25, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Remains limited Hall (toe) was listed as a limited participant for Tuesday's walkthrough, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The 27-year-old was also limited on Monday's practice estimation after playing 68 offensive snaps during Sunday's loss to Carolina. Hall could avoid an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Texans if he puts in a full practice Wednesday.
NOVEMBER 24, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Pops up on injury report Hall (toe) was listed as a limited participant on Monday's practice estimate, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Impact Hall showed no signs of an injury during Sunday's loss to the Panthers, as he played 68 percent of the snaps on offense and posted three receptions for 16 yards. If he's able to play through the injury in Thursday's game against the Texans, he could continue to handle a sizable workload with Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip) also on the injury report.
NOVEMBER 23, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Held in check Hall caught all three of his targets for 16 yards during Sunday's 20-0 loss to Carolina.
Impact Each of Marvin Hall, Quintez Cephus and Jamal Agnew saw expanded roles in the absences of Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip), but none of them were able to do much on a day Matthew Stafford struggled through a thumb injury. Should Golladay and Amendola remain sidelined in Week 12, Hall could get another shot to produce against a Texans defense allowing the sixth-most yards per pass attempt (7.8) in 2020.

Larger role on tap Week 11 Hall is expected to occupy a larger role in the Lions' passing game Sunday against the Panthers with Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip) ruled out for the contest, Kyle M...
Impact Hall had already played north of 60 percent of the offensive snaps in each of the Lions' past three games with Golladay having been sidelined since exiting early in the Week 8 contest, but Amendola's absence now leaves even more volume in the passing game up for grabs. Marvin Jones still projects as the Lions' top weapon in the passing game, but Hall and Quintez Cephus could both see enough targets to make for intriguing speculative plays in DFS tournaments or deeper season-long leagues. Hall has demonstrated some big-play ability in Golladay's stead the last three weeks, turning 15 targets into 202 receiving yards (13.4 YPT) and a touchdown.

NOVEMBER 16, 2020 • DETROITNEWS.COM
Scores second touchdown Hall caught two of three targets for 61 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 30-27 win over Washington.
Impact It looked like Hall was in for a big day after he opened scoring on a 55-yard touchdown in the first quarter, but D'Andre Swift and Marvin Jones ended up commanding roughly two-thirds of the Lions offensive touches. While it's disappointing Hall wasn't able to get more looks in the absence of both Kenny Golladay (hip), Danny Amendola (hip) might need to miss time as well now, which would position Hall as a top-two receiver for Detroit in the short term, with Quintez Cephus and Jamal Agnew also on hand. Next up is a Week 11 matchup against a declining Carolina team that has allowed the seventh-highest completion rate (68.8) in 2020.

Prater's 59-yard FG lifts Lions to 30-27 win over Washington

Matt Prater made a 59-yard field goal as time expired, lifting the Detroit Lions to a 30-27 win over Washington
NOVEMBER 15, 2020 • Associated Press
Five targets in Golladay's absence Hall caught three of five targets for 28 yards during Sunday's loss to Minnesota.
Impact Hall again saw a solid handful of targets in the absence of Kenny Golladay (hip), but most of them, surprisingly, weren't deep shots. On one occasion where Hall did get open deep, Matthew Stafford underthrew him. Given Hall's typically low-volume role, he'll probably need to connect on one of those bombs in order to provide significant fantasy value. Next up is a Week 10 matchup with Washington, though it's not clear if Golladay has a chance to play in it.
NOVEMBER 9, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Set to replace Golladay Hall could have a regular role in three-receiver sets Sunday against the Vikings with Kenny Golladay (hip) ruled out for the contest, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact Hall was the clear beneficiary when Golladay missed the second half of last week's loss to Indianapolis, hauling in four of seven targets for 113 yards. However, it was Quintez Cephus who filled in as the starter when Golladay missed Weeks 1 and 2, with the rookie catching six of 13 targets for 97 yards while playing 79 and 66 percent of snaps. Cephus was a healthy scratch the past three games, but he'll likely be active Sunday with both Golladay and Jamal Agnew (ribs) ruled out. Furthermore, it isn't yet clear if Matthew Stafford (reserve/COVID-19 list) will play.

As Cook thrives, Vikings turn strong-arm strategy to Lions

The Minnesota Vikings have rarely shied from a ground-oriented approach on offense in seven seasons under coach Mike Zimmer
NOVEMBER 5, 2020 • Associated Press
Tops century mark Hall caught four of seven targets for 113 yards during Sunday's 41-21 loss to the Colts.
Impact Hall set a new career high in receiving yards on a day Kenny Golladay (hip) left due to injury. While starting wideouts Danny Amendola and Marvin Jones are probably better bets to see heightened workloads as a result of Golladay's potential absence in Week 9 - and it was fellow reserve wideout Quintez Cephus who saw 10 targets in Golladay's absence in Week 1 - Hall could still get a chance to prove this performance wasn't a fluke. The deep threat will benefit from an inviting Week 9 matchup against a Minnesota defense that has allowed the third-most yards per pass attempt (8.5) in 2020.
