Sensational versus Jaguars Callaway caught all five of his targets for 104 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 23-21 preseason win over the Jaguars.

Impact Callaway was the star of the show, hauling in a 43-yard touchdown while being interfered with to cap New Orleans' opening drive. He then made an incredible, one-handed catch while outstretched for a 29-yard score two series later. In doing so, the second-year pro showed a great connection with quarterback Jameis Winston, which should bode well for Callaway as he approaches the regular season. With Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (undisclosed) sidelined to this point, Callaway has operated as the Saints' top wideout and impressed in that role. Smith seems a safe bet to be ready to play Week 1, but Callaway certainly has capitalized on his recent opportunity, putting his stock on the rise as coach Sean Payton likely embraces a more vertical passing game this season.

Hot start in preseason opener Callaway caught three of four targets for 61 yards in Saturday's 17-14 preseason loss to the Ravens.

Impact Callaway has been the favorite practice target for both Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston, and his rapport with the former was evident on the opening drive, when Callaway caught all three of his targets for 61 yards. His only other target over the next two possessions resulted in an incomplete pass, though. With Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (undisclosed) both sidelined by injuries, Callaway has established himself as the Saints' top healthy receiver, and he could retain that title over Smith for the duration of Thomas' absence, which is expected to last well into the regular season. Callaway will look to strengthen his case in Week 2 of preseason against Jacksonville.

Impact With Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (undisclosed) sidelined while Deonte Harris faces a possible suspension for off-field conduct, Callaway seems to have a solid chance to open the regular season as the team's clear top receiver.
