Going to South Beach
Brown agreed to a contract Tuesday with the Dolphins, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Brown was serviceable when called upon during six seasons with the Rams, averaging 4.0 yards per carry overall and scoring 10 touchdowns the past two campaigns. Miami may continue to upgrade its backfield as the offseason goes on, but for the time being Brown slots in as the primary backup to current No. 1 option Myles Gaskin.

Could be done with Rams
Brown isn't expected to sign an extension with the Rams, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Brown spent six years with the Rams after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2015. 2020 was his most productive season with 419 rushing yards, 162 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He was utilized primarily in obvious passing and third-down situations late in the season and during the playoffs, as rookie running back Cam Akers ascended to the top of the depth chart and proved capable of handling the majority of the workload. Brown's fantasy value will obviously depend on where he signs, but he's capable of being a valuable complementary option in a real-world backfield because of his versatility and ability to pass block.

Bulk of work in fourth quarter
Brown rushed nine times for 30 yards and caught his only target for nine yards during Saturday's 30-20 win over Seattle. He played 20 of 73 offensive snaps.
Impact
The Rams leaned on rookie Cam Akers early and often Saturday, so there wasn't much work left over for Brown. It's worth noting that while Brown didn't receive a carry until the third quarter, he out-touched Akers, 8-3, in the fourth quarter. Head coach Sean McVay trusts Brown, and the sixth-year running back has been involved consistently in the offense all season. Still, Brown hasn't been receiving enough opportunities -- just 29 carries and 11 targets over the past eight games -- to make a major fantasy impact, and it will likely be Akers in the lead-back role again versus the Packers in the divisional round Saturday.

Runs behind rookie in win
Brown rushed three times for 20 yards and caught his only target for negative two yards during Sunday's 18-7 win over Arizona.
Impact
The veteran running back was limited all week in practice with a shoulder injury, so it was encouraging to see him suit up for the regular-season finale. However, it was rookie Cam Akers who started and saw most of the work out of the backfield. Akers played 48 offensive snaps to Brown's 23, and it wouldn't be surprising if a similar timeshare continues against Seattle in the wild-card round. Brown's unlikely to make a major fantasy splash as long as Akers is healthy.

Closes week with full practice
Brown (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cardinals after practicing fully Friday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
After being passed up by Darrell Henderson and then Cam Akers on the depth chart this season, Brown suddenly looks like he could be in store for a three-down role with a playoff spot on the line for the Rams in Week 17. Henderson was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after sustaining a high-ankle sprain, while Akers missed Week 16 with the same injury and hadn't practiced in any capacity this week before logging a limited workout Friday. The Rams are listing Akers as questionable for the regular-season finale, but given the strong possibility that he'll only handle a small role if he suits up, Brown projects as the better fantasy option Week 17. The Rams have valued Brown mostly for his work as a pass blocker this season, but he's been reasonably efficient as a runner (4.1 yards per carry) and pass catcher (5.1 yards per target) while reaching the end zone five times.

Logs limited practice
Brown (shoulder) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Impact
The Rams capped Brown's reps at Wednesday's walk-through and did the same during a regular session one day later. Due to high-ankle sprains hindering both Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson -- the latter of whom won't play Week 17 -- the team may be managing Brown to get him to game day intact. In any case, Akers has yet to be ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Cardinals, so Brown may still have some competition for reps if the former surprisingly gains clearance to suit up. In the five outings in which Brown has earned at least 50 percent of the snaps on offense this season, he averaged 13.2 touches for 61.2 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring three TDs.

Limited by shoulder issue
Brown was limited on Wednesday's practice estimate due to a shoulder injury, Kevin Modesti of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Impact
Not only are Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson tending to respective high-ankle sprains, but Brown is banged up as well. The Rams have placed Henderson on injured reserve, ruling him out for Week 17 and potentially the first two rounds of the postseason (if the Rams lock up a berth). Meanwhile, Akers was listed as a non-participant Wednesday, leaving Brown to handle theoretical backfield reps. Fortunately for Brown, he would have practiced if a session was held and still seems poised to be the Rams' starting running back Sunday versus the Cardinals.

Likely Week 17 starter
Brown will likely start Sunday's game against Arizona with Darrell Henderson (ankle) and Cam Akers (ankle) both injured, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN reports.
Impact
The Rams placed Henderson on injured reserve Tuesday, and while Akers appears to have a shot at returning Week 17 his availability is currently iffy at best. Both Akers and Henderson are dealing with high-ankle sprains. With a playoff spot on the line for Los Angeles, and Jared Goff (thumb) already ruled out for the regular-season finale, the backfield situation will warrant close monitoring as the week continues. Rookies Xavier Jones and Raymond Calais will stand to work behind Brown if Akers can't go.

Produces 35 scrimmage yards
Brown carried seven times for 27 yards and caught one of three targets for eight yards during Sunday's 20-9 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact
While Darrell Henderson (ankle) received 12 carries in the absence of Cam Akers (ankle), the former opened the door for Brown to play a larger role when he left with an injury of his own. Brown averaged just 3.9 yards per carry and managed a modest gain on his only reception while the offense as a whole struggled to move the ball against a beatable Seattle defense. The team's backfield situation is quite murky ahead of next Sunday's matchup with the Cardinals, but Brown is currently the healthiest option and could be in for more touches if his teammates are unable to suit up.

More work likely sans Akers

Impact
Before Akers emerged as the team's clear top back over the past three games, the lead option out of the Los Angeles backfield had been a difficult one to predict in any given week. Expect that to be the case this weekend, as McVay was unwilling to anoint either Brown or Henderson as the No. 1 option, nor was he willing to divulge how the reps may be divvied up between the two. Brown earned double-digit touches in five of the Rams' first eight games of the season, but he's taken a back seat in terms of both playing time and usage in the second half of the Rams' schedule, logging no more than 46 percent of offensive snaps while averaging 6.1 touches per contest between Weeks 10 and 15. Henderson has seen his role decline similarly in the wake of Akers getting more work of the late, but the second-year player has been a more explosive runner and receiver than Brown in the opportunities they've received this season. Brown's skills as a pass blocker should allow him to see plenty of reps Week 16, but Henderson probably represents the more fantasy-friendly option of what will likely be a timeshare arrangement.

Just two touches in loss
Brown rushed once for four yards and caught his only target for six yards during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Jets.
Impact
With just 10 rushes for 25 yards and five receptions for 59 yards over the past five weeks, Brown's usage has taken him almost completely off the fantasy radar. The veteran should continue to see the field and receive a handful of opportunities in each of the next two regular-season games, but his recent numbers probably shouldn't inspire managers to turn to him in any fantasy format.
