Impact Shakir posted his second-lowest yardage figure of the season, but the talented veteran recorded his first touchdown of the campaign on a nine-yard grab just past the midway point of the second quarter. Shakir's target total also tied for his second highest of the campaign, a figure he'd reached on two other occasions. The fifth-year pro should continue to garner his fair share of Josh Allen's attention moving forward, although Shakir's targets could take a slight hit if DJ Moore (shoulder) returns for a Week 8 home matchup against the Ravens on Sunday, Nov. 1, following a Week 7 bye.

Impact On a night when Josh Allen completed just 12 passes, Shakir led the Bills in receiving yards with a figure that marked his second straight 80-yard-plus effort. However, Shakir needed overtime to get there, as he recorded a game-long 57-yard catch and run during Buffalo's first drive of the extra period. Shakir otherwise didn't seem much benefit from the absences of DJ Moore and Joshua Palmer due to shoulder injuries, but he is now averaging an impressive 14.2 yards per catch heading into a Week 6 road matchup against the Raiders.

Season-best production in Week 4 loss Shakir turned seven catches (on eight targets) into 82 yards during the Bills' 29-26 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.

Impact Shakir's final stat line Sunday nearly matched the 8-94-0 receiving line (on 15 targets) across the first three games of the regular season. Most of the veteran slot receiver's yards came on a 51-yard connection with Josh Allen late in the second quarter, with the latter finishing the drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown. Unfortunately for Shakir, he also had the ball ripped out of his hands by Robert Spillane within the final seconds of the first half, though the Bills avoided any damage after the defense intercepted Patriots quarterback Drake Maye on the very next play. DJ Moore aggravated a previous shoulder injury during Sunday's loss, and while the shoulder is not considered a long-term issue, Bills pass catchers like Shakir, Keon Coleman and tight end Dalton Kincaid would all see more targets from Allen if Moore cannot play in Week 5 against the Rams on Monday, Oct. 12.

Impact Shakir played a complementary role once again, and although he did finish tied for second in targets on the Bills, he was only third in receptions and fourth in receiving yards. Shakir has seen Dalton Kincaid take on a much bigger role in the passing game over the first two games of the season, but the wideout is still averaging 6.0 targets over that same span and could be due for a boost in workload if DJ Moore misses any games with the shoulder injury that knocked him out of Thursday's contest late in the second quarter.
