Avoids long-term injury
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Hill (hamstring) didn't suffer a long-term injury, but the running back still will miss some time, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com repo...
Impact
Hill rushed eight times for 45 yards before exiting Sunday's loss to the Bills. While the backup running back doesn't have a return timetable yet, Harbaugh said the team feels like it "dodged a bullet." In Hill's absence, Mike Davis is expected to garner an increased role behind J.K. Dobbins, who continues to work his way back to a full workload following a devastating lower-body injury. Per Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun, the Ravens may get Gus Edwards (knee), who's eligible to be activated off the reserve/PUP list ahead of Week 5, back soon, so he potentially could help fill the hole left by Hill's absence.

Questionable to return
Hill is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Bills due to a hamstring injury, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact
Hill was productive prior to Sunday's second-half departure, rushing eight times for 45 yards. If he's forced to miss additional time, Mike Davis will likely see an increased role in the backfield behind starter J.K. Dobbins.

Impressive showing in Week 3
Hill had six carries for 60 yards Sunday against the Patriots.
Impact
Despite J.K. Dobbins returning from his knee injury, Hill managed to turn in the best rushing performance of his career. Hill not only set a career-high in yards, he did so while averaging 10 yards per carry. A 34-yard rush did a lot of the heavy lifting for his average, but it was a strong day from Hill nonetheless. Dobbins played just eight snaps in the second half, and Hill stepped up with 22 snaps to help carry the backfield. Though Dobbins eventually will start seeing larger workloads as he rounds into form, this is a run-heavy offense that will get usage out of multiple backs. Veteran signings Mike Davis and Kenyan Drake have had minimal returns thus far, so perhaps it will be Hill who takes the No. 2 role behind Dobbins while Gus Edwards (knee) is sidelined.

Effective in limited role
Hill had three carries for 16 yards Sunday against the Dolphins.
Impact
Hill's 16 rushing yards paced the Ravens' running backs, which is a good snapshot of how this position group has performed through two weeks. Baltimore's running backs have combined for 29 carries for 74 yards with Hill accounting for five carries and 20 yards through two games. Hill has been the most effective on a per-carry basis, but five carries in two games is hardly an indicative sample. It appears Baltimore's run game will continue to struggle as long as J.K. Dobbins (knee) is sidelined.

Struggles in preseason win
Hill rushed five times for five yards and caught his lone target for eight yards in Sunday's 24-17 preseason win over the Cardinals.
Impact
Mike Davis (undisclosed) got the first-unit snaps with both J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards still recovering from serious knee injuries suffered just before Week 1 last season. Hill -- a raw prospect taken in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft -- had a prime opportunity to earn some serious starting consideration should the aforementioned players miss the start of the regular season, but his lackluster showing will make the increasingly important third spot on the Baltimore running back depth chart come down to the wire between him and Davis. That final preseason showcase for the Ravens before rosters are trimmed will take place against the Commanders on Saturday.

Three carries in preseason opener
Hill rushed three times for 11 yards and didn't draw a target during the Ravens' 23-10 preseason win over the Titans on Thursday night.
Impact
Seeing his first game action in just under a year, Hill put together modest numbers, but the biggest takeaway was his ability to get back on the field following the Achilles tear that wiped out last season. Hill has reportedly looked quick and back to pre-injury form in training camp practices, and he could see a bump in workload in a road exhibition matchup against the Cardinals a week from Sunday night as he aims to lock in a spot as a speedy change-of-pace option behind the presumptive top running back duo of J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Gus Edwards (knee).

Impact
With J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Gus Edwards (knee) still on the mend, the door has been opened for Hill to make an impression early in camp. Mike Davis and rookie Tyler Badie add competition for limited roster spots in the Baltimore backfield once Dobbins and Edwards return. Hill, who has fully recovered from his own season-ending injury, appears to be making the most of his chances thus far.

Healthy again
Hill was listed as one of five healthy running backs for the Ravens on Thursday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.
Impact
Hill was a limited participant during Baltimore's voluntary workouts in May while recovering from a torn Achilles suffered late last preseason. The 24-year-old running back missed the entirety of the 2021 campaign as a result of this injury, but his status as one of the team's few available tailbacks in training camp should give him a leg up heading into this coming regular season. Hill had just 12 rushing attempts for 60 yards in 2020, and he should compete with Mike Davis, Corey Clement and rookie Tyler Badie for the team's No. 3 running back spot this preseason.

Participating in voluntary workout
Hill (Achilles) participated in the Ravens' OTA workout Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Hill tore his Achilles at the end of last year's preseason, so he appears to be well ahead of schedule in his recovery. However, Hill is far from certain to be back to 100 percent by the start of the regular season. The 2019 fourth-round pick ran for 225 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie but faces an uphill battle for playing time heading into Year 4. J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Gus Edwards (knee) are also coming off season-ending injuries, so free-agent pickup Mike Davis is currently the top healthy back on Baltimore's depth chart.

Waived/injured by Ravens
Hill (Achilles) was waived/injured by the Ravens on Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact
Though previous reports indicated that Hill was already on IR, he'll now need to clear waivers in order for that to become official. In the wake of Hill's season-ending injury, the Ravens added running back Trenton Cannon to their 53-man roster, while Le'Veon Bell joined the team's practice squad.

Lands on IR
Hill (Achilles) has been placed on IR by the Ravens.
Impact
Meanwhile, Ryan Mink of the team's official site relays that the Ravens have signed fellow running back Trenton Cannon to their 53-man roster, while adding Le'Veon Bell to the practice squad. Hill lands on IR after having suffered a season-ending Achilles tear, which currently leaves Gus Edwards and Ty'Son Williams as Baltimore's top two healthy backs.

Hill reportedly has suffered a torn Achilles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
