Shipped to Dallas
The Cowboys acquired Mingo and a 2025 seventh-round draft pick from the Panthers on Tuesday in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round draft pick, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact
The No. 39 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Mingo struggled to find his footing during his one and a half seasons in Carolina, turning in a 55-539-0 receiving line on 111 targets over nine games. Though he was never a high-end producer during his time in college at Ole Miss, Mingo was a coveted pre-draft prospect thanks to his good size (6-foot-2, 220 pounds) as well as the intriguing athleticism he displayed at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine (4.46-second 40-yard dash time, 39.5-inch vertical leap). The Cowboys are hoping that a change in scenery will help Mingo unlock some of his potential, but his immediate outlook isn't promising with Cooper Rush slated to take over at quarterback with Dak Prescott (hamstring) likely to go on injured reserve and miss at least four games. Mingo will likely slot in behind at least CeeDee Lamb and Jalen Tolbert on Dallas' depth chart at receiver, but he could push 2023 seventh-round pick Jalen Brooks for the No. 3 role.

Afterthought vs. Falcons
Mingo caught his only target for one yard in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Falcons.
Impact
The Ole Miss product had the opportunity to step up and serve as the Panthers' No. 3 wide receiver while Adam Thielen (hamstring) was sidelined in Week 6. However, Mingo was out-produced by both Jalen Coker (30 yards) and David Moore (17 yards) in addition to Diontae Johnson (78 yards) and Xavier Legette (23 yards), so it appears he's an afterthought in Carolina's wide receiver corps. Mingo will look to rebound in the Panthers' Week 7 matchup against the Commanders.

Struggles again in Week 5
Mingo caught two of his five targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Bears.
Impact
Mingo tied Ja'Tavion Sanders for the second-most targets and saw increased snaps in the second half while Xavier Legette (shoulder) was sidelined during Sunday's loss. However, it didn't lead to increased production, as the second-year wideout was able to haul in just two of his five targets. If Legette is forced to miss Carolina's Week 6 matchup against the Falcons, Mingo could have a chance to break out and serve as the Panthers' No. 2 wide receiver.

Catches three passes in loss
Mingo caught three of his five targets for 24 yards and no touchdowns during Sunday's 34-24 loss to the Bengals.
Impact
Mingo served as the Panthers' No. 3 wide receiver Sunday with Adam Thielen (hamstring) on injured reserve, but that still didn't lead to increased production. Andy Dalton targeted Diontae Johnson or Xavier Legette on 23 of his 40 pass attempts, and those two combined for 149 of Dalton's 220 passing yards. Despite Mingo's increased playing time over the next couple of weeks, he still appears to be an afterthought in the team's offensive gameplan, with Johnson, Legette and Chuba Hubbard handling almost all the work in Week 4.

Locked into three-wide role
Mingo is expected to take on a regular role in three-receiver sets after the Panthers placed Adam Thielen (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday, Alex Zietlow of The Charlotte Obse...
Impact
In the Panthers' Week 3 win over the Raiders, Mingo played 49 of the team's 74 offensive snaps (66 percent) and logged a 3-18-0 receiving line on four targets. While Thielen left the game in the second quarter with the injury, Mingo didn't benefit from a major spike in playing time in the second half, as rookie Xavier Legette was instead the preferred No. 2 wideout alongside top target Diontae Johnson when the Panthers fielded two receivers and two tight ends. Mingo may not be in store for a notable uptick in his snap count if the trend from the second half of Week 3 holds, but his route participation and opportunities to earn targets could still increase to some degree with Thielen temporarily out of the picture.

Four touches vs. Las Vegas
Mingo caught three of his four targets for 18 yards and rushed once for two yards during Sunday's 36-22 win over the Raiders.
Impact
The second-year wideout saw increased opportunities with Adam Thielen (hamstring) missing the second half of Sunday's contest. Mingo played the second-most snaps (49) of any Panthers wide receiver in Week 3, which bodes well for his fantasy value moving forward, especially if Thielen is forced to miss time. Andy Dalton taking over as Carolina's top signal-caller changes the Panthers' offense entirely, and Mingo will have the opportunity to continue building rapport with his new quarterback in Week 4 against the Bengals.

Just one catch in Week 2
Mingo caught one of his two targets for one yard during Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Chargers.
Impact
The 23-year-old wideout has had an unimpressive start to his sophomore campaign, logging just three catches for 41 yards over the first two games. Mingo did out-snap rookie Xavier Legette (30 to 20) after playing behind him in Week 1, but it ultimately won't matter much if Carolina's offense continues to struggle. Expect Mingo to have a hard time finding fantasy relevance working as the Panthers' No. 3 or 4 wide receiver when the team travels to Las Vegas in Week 3.

Struggles Week 1
Mingo caught two of his five targets for 40 yards and rushed once for three yards during Sunday's 47-10 loss to the Saints.
Impact
Mingo's sophomore campaign is off to a rocky start, as the 2023 second-round pick fumbled on his first touch of the regular-season after taking an end-around in the second quarter of Sunday's loss. He rebounded fairly well, as Mingo caught two passes for 40 yards in the second half, including a 35-yard reception that helped set up Carolina's only touchdown. Despite finishing second on the Panthers in receiving yards, Mingo played just 33 offensive snaps, fewer than Adam Thielen (41), Diontae Johnson (39) and Xavier Legette (35), indicating Mingo is likely the fourth receiving option on a Carolina offense that struggled to score 10 points in Week 1.

First catch of preseason
Mingo recorded one catch on one target for four yards in Saturday's 15-12 preseason loss to the Jets.
Impact
None of Diontae Johnson (groin), Xavier Legette or Adam Thielen suited up, which left Mingo as one of the starting receivers. The Panthers made a clear effort to get him the ball early, as he tallied a four-yard catch prior to having an 18-yard gain negated by an offensive pass interference penalty on the first drive. Mingo had a very disappointing rookie season in 2023, and he's likely to begin the new campaign as the team's fourth receiver.

Fails to corral sole target
Mingo failed to bring in his only target in the Panthers' 17-3 preseason loss to the Patriots on Thursday.
Impact
The second-year pro's quest to secure the No. 3 receiver role with a strong preseason didn't exactly get off to a rousing start. Mingo has been making a strong impression during training camp practices and drew the start Thursday with Diontae Johnson, Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette (foot) all sitting out, but he couldn't capitalize on his one opportunity while playing with Jack Plummer as his quarterback. Mingo did put some solid play on film as a rookie despite Bryce Young's struggles under center, however, so his spot in the wide receiver pecking order should remain stable heading into the team's second preseason game against the Jets on Aug. 17.

Initially listed as starter
Mingo is listed as one of the first-team wide receivers on the Panthers' initial depth chart released ahead of the team's first preseason game Thursday against the Patriots.
Impact
Mingo has been turning heads with his impressive play throughout Panthers camp, and it seems he's earned himself a spot as one of Carolina's starting wide receivers for the time being. He's slotted in ahead of 2024 first-round pick Xavier Legette (foot), who's dealt with a couple injuries now and has yet to make his presence felt. Mingo was listed as a starter on the Panthers' first depth chart during his rookie season as well, but he went on to struggle, posting 43-418-0 receiving line while appearing in all 17 of Carolina's games. The Ole Miss product seems to have built more of a rapport with Bryce Young in their second offseason together, and he'll have the chance to continue turning heads as the preseason progresses.

Standing out at camp
Mingo has been impressive during the first week of training camp, according to David Newton of ESPN.com.
Impact
Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer supports the notion that Mingo and fellow wideout Terrace Marshall have been two of Carolina's standout performers so far. The former was a second-round pick in 2023 and the latter a second-rounder in 2021, but both seemed to be fantasy afterthoughts after struggling last season -- even more so once the Panthers traded for Diontae Johnson and drafted Xavier Legette at No. 32 overall. With Johnson and Adam Thielen locked in for top-three roles, it sounds like there could be lively competition between Mingo, Legette and Marshall for the third spot.

Catches one pass
Mingo caught one of six targets for six yards in Sunday's 33-10 loss to the Cowboys.
Impact
Mingo finished second on the Panthers in targets yet barely gained any yardage. Although Mingo is playing more than veteran wideout DJ Chark, rookie quarterback Bryce Young's usual struggles to connect with anyone other than Adam Thielen leaves Mingo's value lukewarm at best heading into Week 12's game versus the Titans.
