Concussion confirmed Bosa is in the league's five-step concussion protocol Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Impact Popper notes that the Chargers don't intend to shut Bosa down for the season, but given that the star defensive end is dealing with his second concussion in eight weeks, it would seem unlikely that the team rushes him back either. He missed two games due to a concussion earlier this season, and the Chargers have already been eliminated from playoff contention.

Impact Bosa was clearly playing through injuries Thursday, and he had four tackles (two solo) to begin overtime. If he's indeed placed in the concussion protocol, the star defensive end won't be eligible to retake the field. Earlier this season Bosa missed two games due to a concussion suffered Week 8.

Upgrades in practice Bosa (shin) was a limited participant during the Chargers' practice session Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Impact Bosa racked up nine tackles, three sacks, one pass deflection and a fumble recovery while fielding 85 percent of the defensive snaps last Sunday in a loss to the Bills. The two-time Pro Bowler was not declared to have inherited an injury postgame, so a DNP on Wednesday raised eyebrows. He's dealt with a myriad of health issues in 2020, including injuries to his triceps, ankle and knee in addition to a concussion, but the shin injury is a new development. Given that he's already upgraded to limited participation in practice, Bosa is seemingly on the right track toward suiting up Week 13 against the Patriots. His availability Friday will go a long way towards confirming as such.
