Low usage Sunday
Dobbins had two carries for 48 yards Sunday against the Texans. He added one 13-yard reception on one target.
Impact
Dobbins' usage was surprisingly low Sunday after his impressive two-touchdown debut in Week 1. He played 20 snaps, which the same amount as Gus Edwards, but Edwards had 10 carries for a team-high 73 yards. The Ravens have deployed a fairly even backfield rotation thus far with Mark Ingram leading the way with 48 percent of the snap share while Dobbins has played 43 percent of the snaps and Edwards checking in at 35 percent. Dobbins did not see his first carry until midway through the third quarter. The rookie has plenty of talent, but consistent volume could be hard to come by with the Ravens using such a deep running back rotation, not to mention Lamar Jackson's contributions to the run game as well.

Scores twice in NFL debut
Dobbins ran for 22 yards and two touchdowns on seven rush attempts during Sunday's 38-6 win against the Browns.
Impact
Veteran Mark Ingram may have garnered 10 of Baltimore's 21 running back carries, but Dobbins was the benefactor of the ever-valuable goal-line carry, scoring on touchdown plunges of two and three yards during Sunday's contest. Ingram was handed two red-zone carries after ranking 10th in the category during 2019, but Dobbins handled both of Baltimore's RB rush attempts within the 5-yard line. If Dobbins can gradually overtake Ingram for first-team snaps, he has potential to become a fantasy superstar for a Ravens offense that last year set the NFL record in team rushing yards (3,296). Heading into Week 2, Dobbins and Ingram are expected to split reps against a Texans defense that surrendered 166 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown to Kansas City on Thursday night.

Should have Week 1 role
Dobbins should be active for Sunday's game against Cleveland, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Impact
The Ravens' PR staff put Dobbins fourth on the unofficial depth chart that was released Monday, which led to a bit of concern that the rookie might be lightly used -- or even inactive -- in the season opener. Zrebiec said he would be "shocked" if Dobbins is a healthy scratch, adding that the depth chart posted on the team website means nothing with regard to coach John Harbaugh's plans for Week 1. The longtime Ravens beat writer also mentions that Dobbins has seen a lot of practice reps on special teams, suggesting Baltimore is planning on the rookie being a key contributor on that unit. Mark Ingram is still expected to be the starter, but Dobbins should remain in the mix for some touches out of the backfield.

Listed at bottom of depth chart
Dobbins is listed as the No. 4 running back on Baltimore's depth chart.
Impact
Fellow 2020 draft pick Patrick Queen is listed as a starter at inside linebacker, so it can't be said that the Ravens are universally deferring to veterans on their initial depth chart. However, reports from training camp suggested Dobbins was both busy and impressive on the practice field, and coach John Harbaugh said last week that he expects the rookie to have a significant role on offense. In all likelihood, Dobbins is still in line to take some carries Week 1 against the Browns, presumably mixing in behind starter Mark Ingram. Just to be safe, fantasy managers should check back Sunday morning after inactive lists are released, as there's a decent chance Baltimore will have one of its four running backs among the healthy scratches. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill are the other options, but it is possible Dobbins could be the scratch if the offensive gameplan revolves around Ingram while the other two guys are scheduled for significant work on special teams. Either way, Ingram is the smarter fantasy choice for Week 1.

Gearing up for Week 1 role
Coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that he expects Dobbins to have a significant role on offense, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Harbaugh generally lets his coordinators and position coaches make decisions on playing time, but there's no doubt he has a pretty good idea how things will break down. While Mark Ingram is expected to remain the starter, it's certainly possible Dobbins gets more work than Gus Edwards did last season. Everything coming out of training camp on the second-round pick has been positive, including reports on his work as a pass catcher. It's hard to say if Dobbins will get five carries or 15 in the season opener against Cleveland, but it does seem pretty clear he'll be involved in the offense.

Turning heads as pass catcher
Dobbins has been impressing as a receiver in training camp, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Impact
The rookie out of Ohio State has been making highlight-reel worthy plays on a daily basis, according to Zrebiec, and some of his most impressive work has been in the passing game. Dobbins has made acrobatic catches in the end zone on back-to-back days and seems to be making a smooth transition to the pros overall. The Ravens ran the ball a league-high 596 times in the regular season in 2019, and even if Mark Ingram remains the nominal starter at running back, there's room for Dobbins to carve out a significant role in this offense. And given the early camp impressions, it seems Dobbins is primed to make the most out of those opportunities.
