Active for Week 5
Smith (knee) will suit up in Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Impact
Smith played through the knee injury in last week's win over Washington, and it appears he'll do so again for Week 5. Smith will play a key nickel and depth role for the Ravens on Sunday, backing up starters Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey

Questionable for Sunday
Smith (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Impact
The veteran cornerback played through the knee injury in Week 4 against Washington and appears set to do so again Sunday. Smith has 12 total tackles through four games.

Active for Week 4 matchup
Smith (knee) is active Week 4 against Washington.
Impact
Smith missed practice Friday when a knee injury surfaced, but it won't be enough to keep him off the field against Washington. While his role is thought to have decreased this year due to the presence of Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters, Smith did see a season-best 66 snaps Week 3 against Kansas City, recording five combined tackles in the outing.

Questionable after missed practice
Smith (knee) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Washington.
Impact
Smith failed to practice Friday, which isn't a good sign for his Week 4 status. The cornerback's likely to be a game-time decision Sunday.

Officially suiting up Week 2
Smith (hip) is active for Sunday's game against Houston.
Impact
It was reported earlier Sunday that Smith was expected to play, so this news isn't quite surprising. The veteran only put in limited practice time Thursday and Friday, but he was able to gain clearance ahead of Sunday's contest. Now that he's healthy, look for Smith to have a limited role in the defense behind Marcus Peters, Marlon Humphrey and Tavon Young.

ROTOWIRE
Should play Sunday
Smith (hip), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Houston, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Smith played about a third of the Ravens' defensive snaps in the Week 1 win over the Browns while battling a back injury, but it was a different issue that affected him during the team's Week 2 practices. Still, he was able to put in limited practices Thursday and Friday, which looks like it may be enough for Smith to gain clearance for Sunday. Expect him to handle a relatively light snap count again, as Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey are locked in as the Ravens' top outside corners, while Tavon Young serves as Baltimore's primary slot corner.

ROTOWIRE
Considered questionable
Smith (hip) has been labeled as questionable for Sunday's Week 2 matchup with the Texans.
Impact
After being held out of Wednesday's practice, Smith was able to log limited workloads in the subsequent two days. Thus, he is looking like a true game-time decision at this point. If he ends up having to sit out, look for Tavon Young and Anthony Averett to see a slight increase in snaps providing depth in the secondary.

ROTOWIRE
Upgraded Thursday
Smith (hip) was a limited participant for Thursday's practice.
Impact
Smith was held out of practice Wednesday, but as evidenced by this news, he appears to be on track for Week 2 against Houston. The veteran has been a solid depth option in the secondary, so if he's forced to sit out Sunday, Tavon Young and Anthony Averett would be in line for an uptick in depth snaps.

ROTOWIRE
Held out with hip injury
Smith (hip) did not practice Wednesday.
Impact
Smith played through a back injury during Sunday's win against the Browns, but it looks as though his current hip issue is a different problem entirely. The veteran cornerback handles a versatile rotational role in Baltimore's secondary, so his presence will be missed if he's unable to get healthy in time to face the Texans in Week 2.

Set to play Sunday
Smith (back) is listed as active for Week 1's matchup against Cleveland.
Impact
Smith was a late addition to the injury report due to back spasms and was considered a game-time call for the contest. It appears the veteran cornerback will give it a go, and could see a key role in stopping the Cleveland passing attack. According to Tony Grossi of ESPN, Smith will likely be tasked with covering one of the tight ends when the Browns come out in 2-TE sets.

ROTOWIRE
Late addition to injury report
The Ravens added Smith to their injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Browns, listing him as questionable with back spasms.
Impact
Smith's shaky health likely explains why Baltimore promoted another secondary player in Jordan Richards from its practice squad Saturday. A final call on Smith's status will arrive approximately 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, when the Ravens reveal their inactive list. Though Smith doesn't fill a starting role for Baltimore at this stage of his career, the 32-year-old is a valued contributor thanks to his ability to play multiple spots in the secondary.

Declared healthy
Young (neck) is now healthy, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official website reports.
Impact
The 2016 fourth-round pick signed a three-year, $25.8 million extension last offseason, expecting to serve as Baltimore's nickelback long term. He then suffered a season-ending neck injury during training camp, but he should be back for Week 1 of 2020 to guard the slot. Young's return should allow Marlon Humphrey to take the vast majority of his snaps outside, teaming up with Young and Marcus Peters to give Baltimore one of the top cornerback groups in the league. The team also retained Jimmy Smith, who has 83 career starts to his name but hasn't played more than 12 games in a season since 2015.
