Will stick at left tackle in 2022 Browns general manager Andrew Berry said Tuesday that Wills will stay at left tackle during the 2022 campaign, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Impact Wills might have been seen as a potential contingency plan at right tackle if Jack Conklin (knee) isn't available to start the 2022 campaign, but Berry noted that he's optimistic the latter will be ready to go before Week 1. Assuming that's the case, Wills should remain at the spot that he's occupied since being drafted in the first round of the 2020 draft.

Not cleared for Monday game Wills (illness) wasn't reinstated from the reserve/COVID-19 list and won't be available for Monday's game against the Raiders, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact Even with the NFL pushing back Cleveland's Week 15 game an extra two days in addition to relaxing the return-to-play protocols for vaccinated individuals who test positive for COVID-19, Wills and several other key Browns players weren't able to clear the necessary protocols prior to Monday's 5 p.m. ET kickoff. Along with Wills, fellow starting tackle James Hudson (illness) wasn't activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list, so Cleveland will likely turn to Alex Taylor and Blake Hance to protect fill-in starting quarterback Nick Mullens.

Tests positive for COVID-19 Wills was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday.
Impact Wills was one of eight Browns players who tested positive for COVID on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. His potential absence would be a blow to the Browns' offensive line, especially with starting guard Wyatt Teller also being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday. If Wills is unable to clear protocols in time for Saturday when the Browns take on the Raiders, Blake Hance would likely draw the start.

Active as expected Wills (ankle) is active for Thursday's matchup against the Broncos.
Impact Wills missed the team's Week 6 contest against Arizona. He was held out of practice on both Monday and Tuesday leading up to Thursday's game, though he did get in a limited practice Wednesday. Apparently that is enough for him to return as the Browns' starting left tackle, and he'll be tasked with protecting Case Keenum.

Should be back Week 7 Wills (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Broncos, is expected to play, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Impact Wills sat out the Browns' Week 6 loss to the Cardinals along with Jack Conklin (knee), but Cleveland should have at least one of its starting offensive tackles back Thursday. Assuming he avoids the inactive list, Wills will start on the left side, while the Browns will likely turn to James Hudson or Blake Hance at right tackle with Conklin listed as questionable but expected to miss a second straight game. If he suits up, Wills will be protecting the blind side of Case Keenum, who is stepping in at quarterback for the injured Baker Mayfield (shoulder).

Questionable for Week 7 Wills (ankle) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Broncos, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Impact Wills missed the Browns' last two games dealing with an ankle injury that he aggravated in Week 4. The offensive tackle will look to return to the field to help block for a depleted Browns offense that will be without Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Expect Blake Hance to start for Wills if he is unable to play Thursday.

Not facing Arizona Wills (ankle) is not playing Sunday against Arizona, according to Dan Labbe of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Impact Wills was widely expected to miss this game, so his absence isn't surprising at all. The offensive line will be dealing with lots of absences, and all signs point toward Blake Hence taking his place in the starting lineup at left tackle.

Likely out Sunday Wills (ankle) is listed as questionable but isn't expected to play Sunday against the Cardinals, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact In addition to running back Nick Chubb (calf), who has already been ruled out for the contest, the Browns are expected to be without both of their starting tackles in Wills and Jack Conklin (knee). Like Wills, Conklin is also listed as questionable after neither player took part in practice Thursday and Friday. Top swing tackle Chris Hubbard (triceps) is also on season-ending injured reserve, so quarterback Baker Mayfield could be facing more pressure than usual Sunday.

Suffers potential setback Wills (ankle) did not practice Thursday,Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Impact Wills attempted to practice Wednesday, but he stopped during individual drills and was seen speaking with the medical staff. That he wasn't on the field at all Thursday is an ominous sign for his availability Sunday against the Cardinals. However, the team has yet to rule him out officially.

Ruled out against Chargers Wills (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Impact Wills didn't practice this week and is slated to miss his first game of the season due to an ankle injury that has bothered him since the season opener. James Hudson is in line to start at left tackle in Week 5.
