Staying in Miami long term
Sanders is signing a five-year, $22 million extension that includes $10 million guaranteed, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
The new deal keeps Sanders under contract with the Dolphins through 2026, his age-30/31 season. The 2018 seventh-round pick has converted 86.5 percent of field-goal attempts and 98 percent of PATs through 48 NFL games, peaking in 2020 when he converted eight of nine tries from 50 yards or more. For his career, Sanders has made 12 of 15 (80 percent) from 50-plus, and 24 of 32 (75 percent) in the 40-49 range. He's good enough to warrant fantasy consideration even if the Miami offense appears mediocre again.

Tremendously accurate in 2020
Sanders converted both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries during Week 17's 56-26 loss to the Bills.
Impact
Sanders' accurate performance in the Dolphins' season finale was emblematic of his entire 2020 campaign, as the third-year kicker managed to convert 36 of 39 field-goal attempts (92 percent) and all 36 of his extra-point tries through 16 games. Perhaps most impressively, Sanders converted 12 of 14 field-goal tries from 40-49 yards out and eight of nine attempts from 50+ yards away, both career-high marks.

Perfect in narrow win
Sanders converted all four of his field-goal attempts and both his extra-point tries during Saturday's 26-25 win over the Raiders.
Impact
Sanders was accurate as usual in a game so close the Dolphins could scarce afford any mistakes. Through 15 contests, Sanders has converted 34 of 37 field-goal tries (92 percent) and all 34 of his extra-point attempts. He'll look to close out strong against the Bills in Week 17.

Misses only field-goal attempt
Sanders missed his lone field-goal try but converted both extra-point attempts during Sunday's 22-12 win over the Patriots.
Impact
Sanders' lone attempt came from 52 yards out at the end of the second quarter, but the ball sailed wide left. Saturday's upcoming road game against the Raiders figures to provide more scoring opportunities, particularly if some of Miami's top weapons can get healthy. All of DeVante Parker (hamstring), Myles Gaskin (COVID-19 list) and Mike Gesicki (shoulder) were absent versus New England.
