Gets some run as rookie Hasty played in seven games during his rookie season, finishing with 148 rushing yards and a touchdown on 39 carries and 33 more yards on seven receptions.

Impact San Francisco protected Hasty on its practice squad to begin the year, and the undrafted rookie was quickly called upon after several injuries opened up playing time. The 24-year-old wasn't asked to do too much, but he was able to display his shiftiness and soft hands in limited action. The 49ers will have decisions to make regarding a couple of aging veteran backs this offseason, so Hasty may have an opportunity to earn a backfield rotation spot (or at least another shot on the practice squad) during training camp.

Heads to injured reserve The 49ers placed Hasty (collarbone) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Impact Now that he's on IR, Hasty will need to remain there for three weeks before the team can open a 21-day window to return to the active roster. With the 49ers on bye Week 11, he'll only miss two games as a result, making his next potential appearance lines up to be Sunday, Dec. 13 against Washington. Currently, San Francisco has one healthy RB (Austin Walter), two injured backs -- Tevin Coleman (knee) and Jerick McKinnon (neck) -- on the active roster and three backfield options -- Raheem Mostert (ankle), Jeff Wilson (ankle) and Hasty -- on IR.

Impact Hasty rushed three times for 13 yards and caught both of his targets for minus-4 yards before exiting. Jerick McKinnon should handle an even larger portion of San Francisco's backfield snaps with the backup running back unavailable, and Hasty can be considered questionable to return at this time.

Impact Hasty was set to share backfield duties with Jerick McKinnon in what was assumed to be a more even split, but ultimately, the latter logged eight more carries. Hasty had seen no fewer than nine rush attempts in the three games prior to Thursday's, so the downturn in his opportunities against Green Bay's vulnerable rush defense was especially discouraging. Hasty will hope to garner more total touches in a Week 10 battle against the Saints in 10 days if both Raheem Mostert (IR-ankle) and Tevin Coleman (knee) remain out for that contest.

Sharing work with McKinnon on TNF Hasty and Jerick McKinnon are expected to share the load at running back Thursday against the Packers, Matt Maiocco of NBC Bay Area reports.

Impact With Tevin Coleman (knee) exiting early in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, Hasty and McKinnon finished the contest as the 49ers' only healthy backs. McKinnon held a 35-29 advantage in snaps, but Hasty was the clear lead option on the ground, carrying 12 times (for 29 yards and a touchdown) to McKinnon's three (for minus-1 yard and a touchdown). The 49ers have ruled Coleman out for Thursday's game while Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Jeff Wilson (ankle) remain on injured reserve, so another Hasty and McKinnon timeshare should be on tap Week 9. Unless the 49ers fall behind big early and are forced into catchup mode, Hasty is a good bet to earn double-digit carries for the second week in a row.

Leads backfield in touches Hasty carried the ball 12 times for 29 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Seahawks. He added one reception for two yards.

Impact Hasty accounted for 12 of the team's 22 rushing attempts, leading the backfield. However, he failed to produce much with the opportunity, averaging only 2.4 yards per attempt with his longest rush going for only five yards. Hasty salvaged his performance with a one-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter. With Tevin Coleman (knee) suffering a setback, Hasty should serve a substantial role again in a Week 9 matchup against the Packers on Thursday.

Impact Hasty gashed the Patriots for 6.3 yards per carry and got an increase in opportunites after Jeff Wilson Jr. (ankle) left the game with an injury. Impact Raheem Mostert (ankle) had to sit out the entire second half, opening the door for Hasty to get on the field for 21 percent of the offensive snaps. The undrafted rookie put his skills on display by hitting the holes his offensive linemen opened hard. While he didn't log a reception, Hasty does possess soft hands, which would be a route to earning more playing time even when the backfield is healthy. It didn't seem as if Mostert's injury was too serious, but Hasty may have carved out a small role in this offense anyway.

Impact This move was expected with Raheem Mostert (knee) ruled out and Tevin Coleman (knee) still on IR. Hasty suited up in Week 3 against the Giants and recorded nine yards on two carries and caught his lone target for nine yards.
