Commanders' draft picks from past 10 years include more misses than hits

Signing with Giants Crowder is slated to sign a one-year deal with the Giants, per Josina Anderson of CBS Sports.

Impact A fractured ankle limited Crowder to just four regular-season games with the Bills in 2022, during which time he recorded six catches for 60 yards. Now that he's presumably past his ankle issues, the 29-year-old will have a chance to compete for slot snaps in the Giants' wide receiver corps.

Injury-plagued season Crowder was limited to just four regular-season games in 2022 due to a fractured ankle, finishing his first season with the Bills with just six catches for 60 yards and no scores.

Impact Crowder was supposed to fill the slot job for the Bills after Cole Beasley was not brought back, but the former's injury derailed those plans, and Isaiah McKenzie ended up filling the role for most of the season before Beasley returned for the stretch run and ended up being an integral part of the offense again in the postseason. Crowder was on a one-year deal, so he's no sure thing to return even though he seemed to be getting close to full health by the time the Bills reached the playoffs.

Impact McDermott said Crowder is moving in the right direction, but the veteran wideout still will need a bit more time before making his potential return. Crowder resumed practicing last week, just over three months after he suffered a fractured ankle in a Week 4 win. With Isaiah McKenzie having resumed practicing in full, however, the Bills aren't in serious need of additional receiver depth.

Impact Crowder is thus cleared to resume practicing, just over three months after he suffered a fractured ankle in the Bills' Week 4 win over the Ravens. According to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com, Crowder won't be added to the 53-man roster in advance of Sunday's wild-card game against the Dolphins, but he could be a candidate for activation ahead of the divisional round or AFC Championship Game, should the Bills advance that far. Crowder recorded six receptions for 60 yards on 13 targets through Buffalo's first four games before being sidelined with the injury.

He's since been able to resume walking a little less than a month ago and also running on an underwater treadmill for the past two weeks. The next step for Crowder is upgrading to running on an anti-gravity treadmill, with the aim to begin jogging on the field in about "two weeks." The Bills are unlikely to rush him back on the field, especially if they end up landing free-agent wideout Odell Beckham (knee) and otherwise don't suffer any additional losses in the receiving corps.
