Redemption in hearts of Jets' improved defense vs. Bills
The New York Jets' defense has improved lately, and players want to show it when they close the season at Buffalo

Ready for Week 18
Crowder (calf) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bills, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Coach Robert Saleh said Friday morning Crowder's outlook was "looking good" for Sunday, and the lack of an injury designation reinforces that sentiment. The 28-year-old should operate as the Jets' top option in the passing game out of the slot this weekend with Braxton Berrios (quadriceps) out and Elijah Moore (quadriceps/illness) unlikely to return from the reserve list.

Trending in right direction
Coach Robert Saleh said Crowder (calf) is "looking good" to play Sunday against the Bills, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Elijah Moore (quadriceps/illness) isn't expected to return from the reserve list and Braxton Berrios (quadriceps) appears unlikely to play Sunday, so Crowder could be heavily involved if cleared to return from his two-game absence. Crowder should dominate work out of the slot and could be the No. 1 option in the passing game if able to play Week 18.

Stays limited in practice
Crowder (calf) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
While Crowder has been sidelined by the calf injury for two straight games, Braxton Berrios has drawn 18 targets between those contests, producing a 13-102 -1 receiving line to go with three carries for 15 yards and another touchdown. Berrios' strong late-season performance should guarantee him a role on offense in Sunday's finale in Buffalo if available, but he could now be at more risk of missing that contest than Crowder after sitting out consecutive practices with a quadriceps injury. If Berrios can't play Week 18, Crowder would likely have a full-time slot role all to himself and would also profile as the Jets' top option in the passing game. Corey Davis (groin) is shut down for the season, and star rookie Elijah Moore (quadriceps, reserve/COVID-19 list) hasn't practiced or played since Week 13 and is looking doubtful to suit up Sunday.

Limited participant in return
Crowder (calf) returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
While Crowder is back on the practice field after missing back-to-back games with a calf injury, fellow slot receiver Braxton Berrios (quad) is absent to start the week. It'd be interesting to see how the Jets divide snaps and targets if both guys are available this Sunday against the Bills, and they already have some packages to get Crowder and Berrios on the field together.

Returning to practice
Crowder (calf) will return to practice Wednesday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Impact
Crowder has missed the last pair of games with a calf injury and will be back on the field after he was unable to practice in any capacity across the last two weeks. It's not yet clear whether he'll have any limitations Wednesday, but any participation in practice is encouraging for his chances of returning for Sunday's season finale versus the Bills.

Not suiting up Sunday
Crowder (calf) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
Impact
Crowder carried a doubtful tag into the weekend after failing to practice all week, so his inactive status is of little surprise. In the veteran's Week 16 absence versus the Jaguars, Braxton Berrios (5-37) and tight end Tyler Kroft (3-29) were the top two targets for Zach Wilson, but the absences of both Kroft and Ryan Griffin due to COVID-19 could lead to more targets for the likes of Crowder's fellow wideouts Keelan Cole and Denzel Mims.

Doubtful for Week 17
Crowder (calf) is officially listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
With Elijah Moore (quadriceps) not available for Week 17 after landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list and with Crowder trending toward inactive status, Braxton Berrios, Keelan Cole and Denzel Mims look on track to serve as the Jets' starting receivers.

Unlikely to play Sunday
Coach Robert Saleh said Crowder (calf) will be listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
Impact
Crowder has been unable to practice this week, and it appears he'll also be sidelined for Friday's session. The 28-year-old missed last week's win over Jacksonville and is now also expected to be sidelined for Week 17.

Misses yet another practice
Crowder (calf) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
Impact
Crowder didn't practice at all last week before ultimately sitting out against the Jaguars, and it doesn't seem like he's significantly closer to returning for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. While Crowder's outlook could still turn around if he's able to practice in some capacity Friday, fantasy managers should start looking for alternatives to the veteran slot receiver.

Not practicing Wednesday
Crowder (calf) won't practice Wednesday, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
Impact
Per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, coach Robert Saleh indicates that Crowder has about a 50-50 chance to return to action Sunday against the Buccaneers, with fellow wideout Elijah Moore, who is on the reserve COVID-19 and also dealing with a quad injury that had landed him on IR, in a similar position in terms of his chances of being available for Week 17 action.

Inactive Sunday
Crowder (calf) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Impact
Crowder was considered doubtful after sitting out practice this week, so it's no surprise he's sitting out Sunday. Braxton Berrios should step up as New York's primary slot wideout, while Keelan Cole and Denzel Mims operate as the top two receivers.

Doubtful for Sunday
Crowder (calf) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
Impact
Crowder didn't practice all week and isn't likely to play, though coach Robert Saleh said Friday that he viewed the slot receiver as a game-time decisions, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site. Braxton Berrios figures to step up as the primary slot man, and while he's done well with his limited opportunities the past two years, he still faces the same problems as Crowder when it comes to team context and QB play.

Doesn't practice Thursday
Crowder (calf) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Al Iannazzone of Newsday Sports reports.
Impact
As if the Jets weren't already missing enough players due to injury and illness, Crowder's availability for Sunday's game against Jacksonville is in doubt after consecutive missed practices to open the week. The slot receiver will likely need to practice in some capacity Friday to have a shot at suiting up against the Jaguars.
