INJURIES

Reps capped in practice Chase (hip) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Chase has now been limited in five consecutive sessions and has yet to turn in a full practice since late October, when he suffered what he described as a hairline fracture of his hip and a hyperextended right leg. The receiver indicated Wednesday that he expects to put an end to his four-game absence this Sunday against the Chiefs, but whether Chase is cleared in advance of the weekend or receives an injury designation for the contest will likely be determined by the extent of his activity in practice Friday.

Still limited at practice Chase (hip) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
Impact According to Hobson, Chase noted earlier Wednesday that his injured hip feels good enough to play at least "some reps" Sunday against the Chiefs, and his continued participation in practice supports that notion. That said, unless the Bengals' star wideout returns to full practice participation by Friday, he'll likely head into the weekend with an injury designation.

Plans to play Sunday Chase (hip) said Wednesday that he's preparing as though he'll play Sunday against the Chiefs, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Impact The wideout -- who last suited up Week 7 -- indicated that he'll see how the rest of the week goes, but he affirmed that he's "expecting to take some reps" versus Kansas City. Per Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Chase disclosed that he's returning from a hairline fracture of his hip and a hyperextended right leg, and while there had been hope that he would play in the Week 12 win over the Titans, he wasn't feeling comfortable enough to take the field. As this weekend's game approaches, however, Andrew Gillis of The Cleveland Plain Dealer relays that Chase says his hip is now pain-free.

Expected to return Week 13 Chase (hip) is expected to return from his four-game absence versus Kansas City in Week 13, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact The Bengals reportedly considered having Chase retake the field for Sunday's win over Tennessee, but the team ultimately opted to play it safe with the star wideout and give him a bit more time to fully recover. The expectation is that Chase will be available alongside Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd for Sunday's potentially high-scoring affair.

Inactive Sunday Chase (hip) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Impact Chase, who has missed the Bengals' last three games due to a hip injury, was a limited participant at practice Wednesday through Friday before being listed as questionable for the contest. However, the star wideout will be held out once again Sunday and will thus target a potential return to action next weekend when Cincinnati faces Kansas City at home. In Chase's continued absence, Trenton Irwin figures to log added wideout snaps alongside Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd in Week 12.
NOVEMBER 27, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Not expected to play Sunday Chase (hip), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, isn't expected to be active for the contest, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact In his return to practice this week, Chase reportedly turned in three encouraging limited sessions, but he's still expected to miss a fourth consecutive game. A final word on Chase's status still isn't expected to come until 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, when the Bengals will release their inactive list. If Chase is in fact included on the inactive list, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will once again act as Joe Burrow's top wideouts.
NOVEMBER 27, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Trending toward another absence Chase (hip) isn't in line to play Sunday at Tennessee, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Chase got back on the practice field this week in a limited fashion after missing the last three games due to a sore hip. While he hasn't officially been ruled out by the Bengals -- coach Zac Taylor said Friday that the wide receiver would be a game-time call -- it appears Chase instead will aim to return Week 13 against the Chiefs. In the end, the decision on Chase's status will be revealed about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
NOVEMBER 26, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Trending toward game-day call Chase (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
Impact According to Hobson, head coach Zac Taylor said that a decision on the wideout's Week 12 status will be made Sunday. Fortunately for those hoping to use Chase in fantasy lineups this weekend, the Bengals and Titans kick off among the early wave of games at 1 p.m. ET, giving managers plenty of options to pivot to in the event Chase finds himself on the inactive list. Chase, who has missed the Bengals' last three games with the hip injury, was a limited participant in practices Wednesday through Friday.
NOVEMBER 25, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Another limited practice Chase (hip) remained limited at practice Thursday.
Impact Now that he's logged back-to-back capped sessions, Chase is trending in the right direction ahead of this weekend's game against the Titans. That said, unless he practices fully Friday, the wideout figures to carry a Week 12 injury designation ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
NOVEMBER 24, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Limited in return to practice Chase (hip) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Impact Chase last saw game action Week 7, but his return to practice Wednesday represents a significant step toward the wideout potentially playing this Sunday against the Titans. Unless Chase is able to practice fully by Friday, however, he could approach Sunday's game with an injury designation.
NOVEMBER 23, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Back at practice Chase (hip) was spotted at practice Wednesday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact The Bengals will release their first Week 12 practice report later Wednesday, when the extent of Chase's participation will be known. At this stage, Chase appears to be trending in the right direction in advance of Sunday's contest against the Titans. Prior to being sidelined for the past three games, Chase was providing strong fantasy production, having caught 47 passes (on 74 targets) for 605 yards and six touchdowns in seven outings.
NOVEMBER 23, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Expected to play, per Burrow Chase's (hip) teammate,Joe Burrow, said Wednesday that he expects the receiver to play Sunday against the Titans, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Such an outcome is contingent on the wideout not suffering any setbacks upon his anticipated return to practice this week, but Chase looks to be trending toward his first game action since Week 7. More clarity on Chase's status should arrive later Wednesday, when the Bengals post their first injury report of Week 12.

Slated to practice this week Coach Zac Taylor said Monday that Chase (hip) will resume practicing this week, but his availability for Sunday's matchup against the Titans remains to be determined, Ben Baby of E...
Impact Taylor added, "Everything has been positive up to this point, which we hoped it would be." As such, Chase, who hasn't suited up since Week 7 due to a hip injury, could return to game action soon. However, the star wideout's participation at practice in the coming days likely will provide further clarity on his availability for Week 12.
NOVEMBER 21, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Could practice next week Chase (hip), who is out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, has a chance to practice this coming week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact Per Rapoport, the wideout -- who last suited up in Week 7 -- is improving and is off crutches at this stage. If Chase is indeed able to resume practicing in the coming days, he could potentially return to the Bengals' lineup as soon as next weekend against the Titans. In his absence this Sunday, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will continue to lead the team's wide receiver corps in Week 11.
NOVEMBER 20, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Not playing Sunday Chase (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh.
Impact Chase already has missed two contests due to a hip issue, and following the Bengals' Week 10 bye, he'll make it a third this weekend. Having said that, the team opted not to place him on IR, which would have required him to sit out at least four games. Considering Chase was given a recovery timeline of 4-to-6 weeks, there's a chance he'll be able to return Sunday, Nov. 27 in Tennessee. First, though, he'll have to mix into drills next week in order to put himself in a position to do so.
NOVEMBER 18, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Remains sidelined Chase (hip) wasn't present for Wednesday's practice and is on track to remain out for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh, Andrew Gillis of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact Coming out of the Bengals' Week 10 bye, Chase is still sidelined, though Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com suggests that the wideout may be ready to action Week 12 against the Titans. In the meantime, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are in line to continue to lead the team's receiver corps.

NFL's 5 healthiest, most injured teams; inside turf vs. grass injury debate
Bengals will not put Ja'Marr Chase on injured reserve Coach Zac Taylor confirmed Saturday that the star wideout would not be placed on IR.
OCTOBER 29, 2022 • CLEVELAND.COM
Not expected to land on IR Head coach Zac Taylor stated Chase (hip) is not expected to go on injured reserve, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Impact Given the initial prognosis was the dynamic receiver would likely miss at least four weeks after suffering a hip injury, this is certainly an interesting announcement. It likely helps that the Bengals have a Week 10 bye, which theoretically buys another week of recovery for Chase that would otherwise not count had he been placed on IR. Expect Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins to be prominent figures in the team's passing attack for however long Chase is sidelined.
OCTOBER 29, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Will miss time, per coach Coach Zac Taylor confirmed Friday that Chase "will miss time with (a) hip injury and will make a full recovery," Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
Impact Per Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Taylor didn't outline a timetable for Chase's recovery, while noting that the Bengals have a few more days to decide whether Chase will be placed on IR. ESPN's Ben Baby previously relayed that the wideout is expected to miss four-to-six weeks, and if Chase does land on IR he'd miss at least four games. In his absence, beginning Monday night against the Browns, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are poised to lead the Bengals' wideout corps, with Mike Thomas and Trent Taylor candidates to log added WR snaps.
