Cut from practice squad The Patriots announced Tuesday that Reagor has been released from the practice squad.

Impact Reagor suited up for 11 regular-season games with New England last year, but he'll now have to search for a depth role elsewhere in the league. The 2020 first-round pick has appeared in 56 total regular-season games in his career, split between the Eagles, Vikings and Patriots.

Impact Reagor put forth a valiant effort but ultimately failed to earn a spot on New England's 53-man roster, as the Patriots kept six healthy wide receivers on the 53-man roster in addition to placing Kendrick Bourne (knee) on the PUP list to begin the season. Impact Over his past two seasons, Reagor combined for just 15 catches after hauling in 64 passes over his first two years as a pro with the Eagles. The 2020 first-rounder is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and it remains to be seen whether he stays on with New England as a depth wideout/returner or catches on elsewhere.

Impact Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com Reagor was on the field for 36 of a possible 53 snaps on offense in the game, but it was on one of his six special teams snaps that the wideout made his biggest impact Sunday. Reagor got the Patriots off to a nice start by taking the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown. Looking ahead to the team's regular season finale, Reagor is only an option in the deepest of fantasy formats. Through 10 games, the 2020 first-rounder has caught six of his 18 targets for 105 yards.

Reagor failed to haul in either of his two targets, however, and though he could continue to take on a sizable snap share Week 9, he may not generate many looks from quarterback Mac Jones while operating mostly as a downfield decoy. Demario Douglas and JuJu Smith-Schuster are better bets for target volume among the New England receivers while both typically work in the short-to-intermediate areas of the field.

Impact Reagor caught his only target for 11 yards versus Buffalo in Week 7, playing 25 snaps on offense. Now that he'll get a more permanent spot on the 53-man roster, Reagor should settle into a regular depth role at receiver for New England.
