Impact Downs -- who is bouncing back from a high-ankle sprain that he sustained Aug. 7 -- continues to make progress, with his looming practice participation representing a key step toward potentially returning to action this weekend versus the Packers. In the Colts' Week 1 loss to the Texans, Alec Pierce and Adonai Mitchell saw added WR snaps behind top option Michael Pittman.

Impact Lammons was unable to make the Colts' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he will join the active roster after JuJu Brents was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury. Lammons played 22 snaps on special teams in the Colts' 29-27 loss to the Texans on Sunday, and he finished with no tackles. With Brents sidelined, Lammons is expected to provide depth in the Colts' secondary behind corners Jaylon Jones and Kenny Moore.

JuJu Brents - Lands on IR with knee injury Brents was placed on the Colts' injured reserve Tuesday due to a knee injury.
Impact Brents will undergo a procedure for the knee injury he sustained during Sunday's 29-27 loss to Houston. Whether the 2023 second-round pick will return this season will not be known until after the surgery, though Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports that Brents is not dealing with an ACL injury, and the 24-year-old corner could return in mid-December. With Brents sidelined, Kenny Moore could step into the starting corner role opposite Jaylon Jones. Moore played all 79 defensive snaps for the Colts on Sunday and finished with five tackles (four solo).

Impact Brents' injury could be season-ending, and although Rapoport states it will be, James Boyd of The Athletic says the team won't know a timetable for his return until after he undergoes surgery. The specifics of the injury the Kansas State product suffered are also unknown at this point, although Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports it is not an ACL injury and there is a chance Brents could be back in mid-December. It's another tough blow for the promising young cornerback, who missed eight regular-season games in 2023 due to a quadriceps injury. With not much depth at the position, it's not clear where the Colts will turn, with Samuel Womack and Dallis Flowers the only other corners on the current roster other than starter Jaylon Jones and nickelback Kenny Moore.
