INJURIES

On track for Sunday Hurst (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the Raiders, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact The 27-year-old received the questionable tag after finishing the week with a limited practice Friday, and it appears he's continued to progress well halfway through the weekend. Hurst is looking for a rebound performance after posting zero catches on two targets last week against the Saints.

RB Todd Gurley (knee) out for Falcons game vs. Raiders

Atlanta Falcons running back Todd Gurley will miss Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders because of a knee injury

Questionable on final injury report Hurst (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Las Vegas, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Impact Listed as DNP on the first two practice reports this week, Hurst then returned to the field Friday as a limited participant. We may not know for sure until the Falcons release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff. If Hurst doesn't end up playing, Luke Stocker and Jaeden Graham likely would split snaps at tight end, with the former mostly a blocker and the latter a better bet to contribute in the passing game.

Raiders, Falcons both look to bounce back from losses

No reps Thursday Hurst (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's practice estimate, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
Impact Prior to getting blanked on two targets this past Sunday in New Orleans, Hurst notched at least four catches six times in nine games before Atlanta's Week 10 bye. One practice remains before the Falcons potentially give him a designation for a Week 12 contest against the Raiders.

Misses practice with ankle issue Hurst was absent from Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
Impact Hurst missed the first four games of his rookie season in 2018 due to a stress fracture in his foot, but since then he's reeled off 40 consecutive appearances (including playoffs) between the Ravens and Falcons. Through 10 contests with Atlanta, he's posted a respectable 37-411-3 line on 56 targets, but it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to add to that Sunday versus the Raiders.
NOVEMBER 25, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Lays Week 11 egg Hurst did not haul in either of his targets during Sunday's 24-9 loss to the Saints.
Impact Hurst had pieced together four consecutive performances of four-plus catches and 54 or more receiving yards entering Sunday. Week 11 represented an absolute dud for the third-year man out of South Carolina, his first game in a Falcons uniform without recording a catch. Despite the down week, Hurst has already established career highs in targets (54), receptions (37), receiving yards (411) and touchdowns (three) heading into a Week 12 matchup against Las Vegas.

Second-leading receiver in win Hurst caught seven of a team-high eight targets, accumulating 62 receiving yards during Sunday's 34-27 win against the Broncos.
Impact Calvin Ridley (foot) was unavailable to state his own case, but Hurst commanded more passing-game involvement than at least one Pro Bowl-caliber receiver during Week 9, out-targeting the great Julio Jones by an 8-7 count. It seemed obvious the South Carolina product would see more involvement with the Falcons this season after the team sacrificed a second-round draft choice to acquire him from Baltimore. Regardless of the compensation the Falcons gave up, for fantasy purposes he's already surpassed his previous career highs in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns with seven games still remaining on the regular-season slate. He's rounded into consistent form of late especially, with four-plus receptions and at least 54 receiving yards in each of his past four outings. Hurst may be earning his keep long term despite general manager Thomas Dimitroff having been relieved of his duties Oct. 11.

Solid receiving day in win Hurst brought in five of seven targets for 54 yards in the Falcons' 25-17 win over the Panthers on Thursday night.
Impact The third-year pro continued to churn out solid numbers Thursday, enjoying an expanded role with Calvin Ridley exiting the game in the second quarter due to an ankle injury. Hurst checked in second to Julio Jones in receptions, receiving yards and targets, and he now has at least Thursday's 54 receiving yards in three straight games, his best stretch of play yet during his first season with Atlanta. Hurst also exactly matched his 2019 totals of 30 receptions and 349 yards in Baltimore with Thursday's production, leaving him poised to establish new career bests in both categories in a Week 9 home interconference affair against the Broncos on Sunday, Nov. 8.

Heavy involvement against Detroit Hurst corralled six of seven targets for 68 receiving yards during Sunday's 23-22 loss to the Lions.
Impact The third-year tight end continues his breakout 2020 campaign, as Hurst's six receptions establish a new single-game career high. He's been a high-floor fantasy option of late, with 4-plus receptions and 50-plus receiving yards in three of his past four games, as well as three total TDs before the midway point of the season. An upcoming Thursday night matchup against Carolina provides reason for pause, however, as the Panthers entered the weekend allowed the seventh-fewest receiving yards to opposing tight ends (221).

Scores third TD of 2020 Hurst caught all four of his targets for 57 receiving yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 40-23 win against the Vikings.
Impact The 27-year-old tight end has been inconsistent from week-to-week, but against the Vikings he enjoyed one of his more prolific outings of 2020. During the odd Weeks -- 1, 3 and 5 -- Hurst has averaged 15.7 receiving yards per game, but in his other three outings, he has amassed 60 receiving yards per game with two total TDs. Week 7 is not likely to be the time when Hurst breaks his every-other-game trend, as the opposing Lions entered Sunday allowing an NFL-low 96 receiving yards to opposing TEs.

Jones returns to practice as Falcons prepare to face Vikings

Seven-time Pro Bowl receiver Julio Jones returned to practice as a limited participant and hopes to play Sunday when the Atlanta Falcons visit the Minnesota Vikings
OCTOBER 16, 2020 • Associated Press
Cleared for Week 6 Hurst (back) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Minnesota.
Impact The Falcons listed a slew of players on their injury report this week, but it appears they'll have all their key skill-position players on offense available Sunday, including WR Julio Jones. It's mostly been a disappointing season for Hurst, who has just one game with double-digit PPR points so far.
OCTOBER 16, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Tagged as limited yet again Hurst (back) was listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
Impact Hurst is averaging 5.6 targets and 50.6 offensive snaps per game, but with 6.1 YPT and two touchdowns through five contests, he's been TD-dependent in his performances in his short stint with the Falcons. He's now dealing with a back issue, which may result in a questionable designation for Sunday's contest at Minnesota.
OCTOBER 15, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Limited with back injury Hurst was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a back issue, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
Impact Hurst appears to have picked up the injury in Sunday's loss to the Panthers, during which he only hauled in two of six targets for eight yards. He played a season-high 83 percent of offensive snaps in the contest, so getting the tight end some rest could have factored into Atlanta's decision to limit him in practice. As long as Hurst can upgrade to full participation Thursday or Friday, any concerns about his Week 6 availability will be dispelled.

OCTOBER 12, 2020 • Associated Press
Barely involved against Panthers Hurst caught two of his six targets for eight receiving yards during Sunday's 23-16 loss to Carolina.
Impact The tight end's involvement has remained steady, with five or more targets thrown his way in every game but one this season. Over the past three weeks, however, the production has just not been there, as Hurst has been held under 10 receiving yards on two occasions during that span. Week 6 offers a matchup against a Vikings defense that surrendered its first TE touchdown of the season on Sunday night, allowing a 19-yard TD pass to Seattle's Will Dissly.
