Impact Even though it has the chance to host a playoff game next week with a win over Cincinnati, a Chargers loss to the Broncos and a favorable coin flip, Baltimore won't risk exposing Dobbins, its top running back, to a potential injury in advance of the postseason. With Dobbins having taken the lead role out of the backfield since being activated from injured reserve Week 14, Edwards has faded from the game plan. He saw a season-low three carries in last week's loss to the Steelers, with head coach John Harbaugh acknowledging afterward that he had "no excuse" for Edwards' reduced role. Dobbins' absence for Week 18 will allow Harbaugh to get Edwards more involved as the Ravens' top option on the ground, while Justice Hill and Kenyan Drake likely handle most of the passing-down and change-of-pace work.

His workload continues to be volatile, but it's unlikely his usage will be this low again Sunday against the Bengals.

Impact Edwards had a fine performance with the opportunity he was given, as he managed lengthy runs of 25 and 10 yards to pace his day. However, he continued to slip further behind J.K. That doesn't seem likely to change moving forward barring another injury to Dobbins, leaving Edwards in a backup role.

The duo figure to form a 1-2 punch out of Baltimore's backfield, with Dobbins appearing to be the top option. Even so, Edwards should be a safe bet for double-digit touches on a weekly basis.

The underwhelming afternoon leaves the fantasy outlook for Edwards -- and the Ravens' backfield as a whole -- murky going into a Week 14 road battle against the Steelers.

Impact Edwards dominated work out of the Baltimore backfield, as no other running back recorded more than two carries in the game. His actual performance wasn't all that inspiring and was largely salvaged by a one-yard touchdown plunge late in the fourth quarter. However, Edwards was inefficient and also lost a key fumble moments after his touchdown, which led directly to Baltimore's loss. Until J.K. Dobbins (knee) is able to return, the team doesn't have great options to supplant Edwards as the lead back, so he should continue to see consistent work for the time being.
