#LetGusCook: Baltimore Ravens need to give Gus Edwards more carries
The Baltimore Ravens backfield is absolutely loaded, but it nonetheless has to find a way to get Gus Edwards more carries. When you have a b...

Impressive in limited work
Edwards had four carries for 39 yards Monday against the Chiefs.
Impact
Edwards paced all Baltimore running backs in rushing Monday despite playing just 13 snaps and seeing just four carries. He is averaging 7.2 YPC through three games (18 attempts) so while Edwards is getting chunks of yardage every time he gets the ball, Baltimore's deep running back rotation is keeping his volume down. Edwards and the Ravens will head down the beltway to face the Washington Football Team in Week 5.

Leads team in rushing Sunday
Edwards carried the ball 10 times for a team-high 73 yards in Sunday's 33-16 win over the Texans.
Impact
After rookie J.K. Dobbins scored twice in the Ravens' opener, it looked like Edwards had been relegated to the bottom of the depth chart, but only Lamar Jackson carried the ball more often Sunday than he did. There was plenty of yards to go around for the entire Baltimore backfield -- the team amassed 230 rushing yards in total -- but it could be tough to predict from week to week which RB will see the biggest share. Edwards could still be productive on limited touches in Week 3 against a Kansas City defense that just gave up over 100 scrimmage yards to both Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley in an overtime victory.

Light work Sunday
Edwards had four carries for 17 yards Sunday against the Browns.
Impact
The physical runner is facing added competition for carries this season with rookie J.K. Dobbins in the fold and Mark Ingram remaining the starter. Edwards still got some work, playing 25 percent of the team's total snaps. However, two of his carries came on the final drive when Baltimore was running out the clock. Edwards is effective on a per-carry basis, but he is locked into a very specific role that does not lend itself to much volume when Ingram and Dobbins are healthy.
