Crosses goal line in win Ward hauled in five of six targets for 42 yards and a touchdown and returned one punt for 11 yards in the Eagles' 22-21 win over the Giants on Thursday night.
Impact The converted college quarterback turned in a strong effort as a possession option for Carson Wentz throughout the night. Ward checked in second in receptions and third in targets, and his three-yard scoring grab with 4:38 remaining began the comeback from a 21-10 deficit. The 25-year-old had seen his catch total dwindle from four to two between Weeks 5 and 6, so Thursday's resurgence was a welcome sight. However, depending on the statuses of Alshon Jeffery (foot) and DeSean Jackson (leg) for a Week 8 battle against the Cowboys on Sunday, Nov. 1, it's possible Ward is no better than the No. 4 wideout in that contest.

Held to two catches Ward brought in two of three targets for 19 yards in the Eagles' 30-28 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
Impact Ward saw both Zach Ertz (ankle), Travis Fulgham and John Hightower outpace him in targets, leaving him as a complementary option during the loss. The 25-year-old had seen at least five targets in four of his first five contests heading into Week 6, so the reduced volume, especially with the Eagles still missing multiple members of their air attack, was especially disappointing. Ward will look to bounce back in a Thursday night Week 7 battle against the Giants, but there's a chance Philadelphia gets back DeSean Jackson (hamstring) and Dallas Goedert (IR-ankle) for that contest.

Finds end zone Ward recorded four receptions on five targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the Steelers.
Impact Ward saw several fewer targets in comparison to recent weeks but still managed to haul in his second touchdown of the season on an eight-yard reception with six minutes remaining in the third quarter. Otherwise, he was surpassed by Travis Fulgham, who exploded for a 10-catch performance. With DeSean Jackson (hamstring) and Alshon Jeffery (foot/illness) nearing a return, Ward could be at risk of losing more targets in a Week 6 matchup against the Ravens.

Leads team in targets Ward caught four of seven targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 25-20 win over San Francisco.
Impact With the majority of the Eagles' wideout corps sidelined, Ward became Carson Wentz's favorite target. Practice squad receiver Travis Fulgham caught the lone passing touchdown of the game, but Ward was clearly the top receiver while operating out of the slot. The former quarterback has PPR appeal heading into a matchup against the Steelers on Sunday after garnering 18 targets (12 receptions) over his previous two contests.

Only receiver on roster at practice Ward was the only Eagles receiver on the 53-man roster to practice Thursday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Impact With DeSean Jackson (hamstring), Alshon Jeffery (foot), J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (calf), John Hightower (illness) all missing the session, the Eagles ran their offense with Ward, three practice squad players and Quez Watkins (upper body), who was just designated to return from IR on Tuesday. Even if Jackson is able to return despite not having practiced yet this week, Week 4 will still likely be another busy one for the 25-year-old Ward.
OCTOBER 2, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Huge day against Bengals Ward caught eight of a team-high 11 targets, producing 72 receiving yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 23-23 tie with the Bengals.
Impact Ward collected just six total catches for 36 yards between Weeks 1 and 2, but the former college quarterback is not long removed from a notable stretch of fantasy production. Starting Week 14 of last year, Ward averaged 7.5 targets per game through the conclusion of the 2019 regular season, amassing 5.3 receptions and 52.3 receiving yards per contest as the Eagles won four straight to clinch a postseason berth. With Alshon Jeffery (foot) and Jalen Reagor (thumb) inactive for Sunday and DeSean Jackson (hamstring) forced to exit partway through, Ward was granted an increased workload. That is expected to carry into Week 4 if injury woes at the position persist, as Ward prepares for a matchup against a banged-up 49ers secondary.

Just one target in loss Ward caught his lone target for five yards in Sunday's 37-19 loss to the Rams.
Impact After drawing seven targets in the opener, Ward saw just one look in this one despite getting the start. With Jalen Reagor healthy, the 25-year-old's role was due to diminish. It will likely tick back up again if there are any injuries to Reagor or DeSean Jackson, though Alshon Jeffery is likely to work his way back into the mix at some point.
SEPTEMBER 21, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Five catches in opener Ward caught five of his seven targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to Washington.
Impact Although he didn't end up drawing the start, Ward was due to play a significant role with Alshon Jeffery (foot) and Jalen Reagor (shoulder) banged up. The 25-year-old did just that as he finished in a three-way tie for second on the team in targets. As has been the case for most of his career, most of those targets were short-range, as his longest of play of the day went for 11 yards.
SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Poised to begin year as starter The Eagles list Ward as their No. 3 receiver on the unofficial depth chart that was released Tuesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Impact Ward could be pushed down the depth chart once the Eagles get healthier at receiver, but with Jalen Reagor (upper body) highly unlikely to play and Alshon Jeffery (foot) looking iffy for Sunday's season opener versus Washington, the former University of Houston quarterback should be locked into a starting role to begin the season. Especially if Jeffery joins Reagor on the sideline Week 1, the Eagles will likely make heavy use of two-tight end sets featuring Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert, but Ward proved late last season that he could be reliable option in the slot for quarterback Carson Wentz. Over the five games in which he played at least 70 percent of the offensive snaps (including playoffs), Ward totaled 24 receptions for 233 yards and a touchdown on 34 targets.

Competing for key role Coach Doug Pederson said Wednesday that Ward is "in that starting mix" for the Eagles, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
Impact Ward was a pleasant surprise for the Eagles last December, averaging 52.4 yards, 7.5 targets and a 77 percent snap share over the final four games of the regular season. His role was born of necessity after the Philadelphia receiver group was crushed by injuries, but Ward quickly provided an argument that he should have been playing the slot ahead of Nelson Agholor all along. In any case, Agholor is now with the Raiders, and while the Eagles did add a few wideouts in the offseason, they've already seen Marquise Goodwin opt out of the 2020 campaign, while Alshon Jeffery (foot) remains on the PUP list. That leaves Ward, DeSean Jackson and Jalen Reagor as the favorites for snaps and targets in September, albeit with a trio of young prospects in J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, John Hightower and Quez Watkins also hoping to compete. Ward's slot ability could work in his favor in terms of securing a role, but it also means he's more likely to come off the field for multi-tight end formations. Jackson and Reagor both come with more upside.
AUGUST 12, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Looking good for roster spot Ward's roster spot should be secure, according to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com.
Impact The Eagles drafted three wide receivers and traded for Marquise Goodwin, but they lost Nelson Agholor to the Raiders and have Alshon Jeffery rehabbing from major foot surgery. While Ward isn't likely to reprise his role from the final four weeks of last season -- three-quarters of offensive snaps and 7.5 targets per game -- he could enter training camp as the team's top slot man. Even if he loses that spot, Ward's familiarity with the Philadelphia offense and ability to field punts should help him stick around on the 53-man roster.
