Cards turn to David Blough at QB against Ridder, Falcons
The Arizona Cardinals will start David Blough at quarterback against rookie Desmond Ridder and the Atlanta Falcons

Career-best night in Week 16 loss
Dortch secured 10 of 11 targets for 98 yards and rushed three times for 25 yards in the Cardinals' 19-16 overtime loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday night.
Impact
Dortch's career-best night came out of nowhere, considering he'd logged just four snaps from scrimmage apiece in the prior two games and had gone without a target in those contests as well. The third-year wideout served as spot starter Trace McSorley's security blanket from early in the game, however, and he finished the night leading the Cardinals in all receiving categories. If McSorley were to log another start for Colt McCoy (concussion) in a Week 17 road matchup versus the Falcons, Dortch could enjoy another dose of expanded opportunity.

Cleared for Week 16
Dortch doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's matchup against Tampa Bay, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Dortch was limited for practices Wednesday and Thursday due to a knee injury, which was concerning given he sat out Week 12 with a knee issue. However, it appears his lack of full participation was merely precautionary, and the wideout should be good to go for Week 16. He's operated primarily on special teams over his past two appearances, but if Marquise Brown (groin) is sidelined, Dortch could be thrust into a sizable offensive role against Tampa Bay.

Limited by knee Wednesday
Dortch was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice due to a knee issue, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Since sitting out Week 12 with a thumb injury, Dortch used the Cardinals' Week 13 bye to get healthy, but his usage has sunk to little more than special-teams work over the last two games. As such, his 10 targets from Week 11 appear to be an aberration, as his 10 offensive snaps from the past two outings haven't yielded any looks in the passing game. If he's able to suit up and eventually get some plays on offense Sunday against the Buccaneers, any passes that come to Dortch will be from Trace McSorley, who is getting the start under center with Kyler Murray on injured reserve due to a torn ACL and with Colt McCoy unavailable due to a concussion.

Logs full practice Thursday
Dortch (thumb) practiced in full Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact
After going off for a career-high 109 yards on nine catches during a Week 11 loss to the 49ers, Dortch didn't practice in the ensuing week due to a thumb injury and eventually went down as one of the Cardinals' inactives Week 12 against the Chargers. With the benefit of Arizona's bye week, though, he's able to handle all on-field work, which can't be said for DeAndre Hopkins (illness) and Rondale Moore (groin), both of whom were DNPs on Thursday. Arizona still has two more sessions to go during Week 14 prep, but if one or both of Hopkins and/or Moore are limited or out Monday versus the Patriots, Dortch could take on a bigger role alongside the likes of Marquise Brown and A.J. Green.

Sitting out in Week 12
Dortch (thumb) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Chargers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact
In the wake of his 103-yard performance last Monday against the 49ers, Dortch was revealed to be dealing with a thumb injury, but surgery was ruled out, and he was considered day-to-day by coach Kliff Kingsbury. Dortch proceeded to miss every Week 12 practice and entered the weekend as a game-time call, but a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN late Saturday noted he was unlikely to play. Indeed, that has come to pass, meaning the Cardinals will go with DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown, A.J. Green, Robbie Anderson, Andre Baccellia and Pharoh Cooper at wide receiver Sunday with Rondale Moore (groin) also unavailable.

Unlikely to play in Week 12
Dortch (thumb) is listed as questionable but isn't expected to play Sunday versus the Chargers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
The situation at wide receiver for the Cardinals has lacked clarity all week, but with Rondale Moore (groin) getting ruled out Friday and Marquise Brown (foot) being activated from IR on Saturday, Dortch is the final domino waiting to fall. That hasn't happened yet, but if he's deemed inactive about 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, Arizona's likely available receivers will be DeAndre Hopkins, Brown, A.J. Green and Robbie Anderson, with Saturday signee Andre Baccellia and practice-squad call-up Pharoh Cooper the other candidates to be active.

Game-time call
Dortch (thumb) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers and will be treated as a game-time decision, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Impact
Dortch didn't practice in any capacity Wednesday through Friday, and his status takes on more importance given the upcoming absence of Rondale Moore, whose groin injury in the first quarter opened the door for Dortch to top 100 receiving yards in a loss to the 49ers on Monday. While similar production is unlikely in any event, Dortch could man the slot this week in an Arizona offense that hopes to get Marquise Brown (foot) back from injured reserve. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Brown's role could be limited his first game back, but Dortch will need to prove he's healthy enough to capitalize before his team's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday.

Another DNP on Thursday
Dortch (thumb) was listed as a DNP on Thursday's practice report, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact
After posting the first 100-yard game of his pro career Monday against the 49ers, Dortch was revealed to be dealing with a thumb injury that required an MRI and hasn't allowed him to take part in either walkthrough during Week 12 prep. It's unclear if he's in danger of missing Sunday's contest versus the Chargers, but the Cardinals could reveal the statuses of both Dortch and Rondale Moore (groin) as soon as Friday. With Marquise Brown (foot) currently in his 21-day window to be activated from IR, DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and Robbie Anderson are Arizona's healthy wide receivers on the active roster.

Sits out Wednesday
Dortch (thumb) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact
Like Rondale Moore (groin), Dortch was held out to begin Week 12 prep. Unlike Moore, Dortch still has a chance to play Sunday against the Chargers, with two more practices to put himself on a path to do so. There's a chance Marquise Brown (foot) is activated from injured reserve by Sunday, but even if he is, he likely will be on a pitch count. For the time being, DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and Robbie Anderson are the healthy wide receivers on the Cardinals' active roster.

Avoids major injury
Dortch (thumb) won't need surgery and is considered day-to-day, Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact
An MRI on Tuesday revealed that Dortch avoided a serious injury when he left Monday's loss to the 49ers in the fourth quarter. He replaced an injured Rondale Moore (groin) in that contest and ended up catching nine of 10 targets for a team-high 103 yards. Dortch could handle the slot role again if his thumb heals before Moore's groin.

ROTOWIRE
Set for MRI on thumb
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Tuesday that Dortch will undergo an MRI on his thumb, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Impact
There was no more information given, so it's unclear if Dortch is in danger of missing any time. He is coming off a career-best performance in Monday's loss to the 49ers in which he hauled in nine of 10 passes for 103 yards. The bump in playing time was aided by Rondale Moore leaving the contest early due to a groin injury, and the Cardinals still don't have the services of Marquise Brown (foot), who remains on injured reserve. With all three potentially question marks for Week 12 action, the situation will be one to watch as the team prepares for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

First 100-yard game
Dortch recorded nine receptions on 10 targets for 103 yards in Monday's 38-10 loss to the 49ers.
Impact
Rondale Moore (groin) was injured on Arizona's first offensive play and did not return. That opened up the slot role for Dortch, who took advantage for long gains of 47 and 13 yards. That helped him top 100 receiving yards in a game for the first time in his career, though it's unclear how long Moore may be sidelined, plus Marquise Brown (foot) appears to be nearing a return. If either Brown or Moore returns in Week 12, Dortch will find it difficult to earn a significant role in the Arizona offense.

Suiting up in Week 10
Dortch (groin) is listed as active Sunday at the Rams, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact
Dortch was tacked on to Arizona's injury report Friday as limited due to a groin issue, which made him questionable for this Week 10 NFC West matchup. With his status cleared up, though, he'll be available to the Cards offense for the 10th time in as many games this season. While he was leaned on heavily through Week 3 on his way to a 20-198-1 line on 23 targets, Dortch has totaled just seven touches for 27 yards from scrimmage and one TD catch in six appearances since then.

Impact
Dortch was added to the injury report Friday, presumably after suffering an injury in practice. He took only five snaps the week before, relegated to a pure depth role with Robbie Anderson joining DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore as full-timers.

ROTOWIRE
Compiles two touches Sunday
Dortch recorded one catch (on one target) for zero yards and one carry for three yards during Sunday's 31-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Impact
Since opening the season with at least 55 receiving yards in each of the Cardinals' first three games, Dortch has been afforded just seven touches for 27 yards and one TD in six contests in the meantime. His snap share during that stretch has ranged from three to 53 percent of the offensive plays, while DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore have been the beneficiaries of Marquise Brown's (foot) IR stint. Arizona also gave recent addition Robbie Anderson a large workload Sunday (83 percent, three targets), meaning Dortch may continue to struggle for reps on offense.

Despite TD, sparse usage continues
Dortch caught his only target for a five-yard touchdown and had one carry for one yard during the Cardinals' Week 6 win against the Saints.
Impact
Despite playing the third-most offensive snaps (35 of 66) among Arizona wide receivers behind DeAndre Hopkins (61) and Rondale Moore (59), Dortch was unable to take advantage in an offense that was missing Marquise Brown (foot) and top running back James Conner (ribs), among others. After compiling a 20-198-1 line on 23 targets in the first three games of the campaign, Dortch has been targeted just twice in four contests in the meantime. Now, even with Brown out of commission for the foreseeable future, Dortch appears to be an afterthought for quarterback Kyler Murray with Hopkins back from suspension and tight end Zach Ertz regularly involved in the passing game.
