Active for Sunday's game Lock (shoulder) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Impact Lock last suited up on Sept. 20, but the postponement of the Broncos' originally-scheduled Week 5 contest to this Sunday has afforded the second-year signal caller the added time he needed to be ready to return to the lineup following a two-game absence. Lock's return, along with that of running back Phillip Lindsay (toe), helps offset the Week 6 unavailability of leading rusher Melvin Gordon (illness) and top tight end Noah Fant (ankle).

Expected starter Sunday Lock (shoulder) is expected to start under center Sunday versus the Patriots, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Impact Lock's status will become official about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, but he has avoided a setback and is good to go. The 2019 second-round pick was serviceable through the first two games, completing 23 of 24 passes (62 percent) for 236 yards and a touchdown. He'll be without both Noah Fant (ankle) and Melvin Gordon (illness) on Sunday, so Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick and Phillip Lindsay are expected to be Lock's top targets against the Patriots' sturdy pass defense.

Broncos running backs coach tests positive for coronavirus

Injury Report: Drew Lock ‘trending the right way’ to start vs. Patriots, officially listed as questionable Lock has not played since a Week 2 game in Pittsburgh, where he suffered a shoulder injury that forced him to miss two starts.
OCTOBER 16, 2020 • DENVERBRONCOS.COM
Listed as questionable for Week 6 The Broncos list Lock (shoulder) as questionable for Sunday's scheduled game against the Patriots, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
Impact That said, coach Vic Fangio noted Friday that the QB is trending in the right direction with regard to starting Sunday, while adding that the team chose questionable for Lock over not listing him with a status given that the "probable" designation is no longer an option. While it looks like Lock will be a go Sunday, it's worth monitoring the entire Week 6 NFL slate due to the potential of COVID-19 related postponements.

During recovery Lock studied QBs who avoid sacks, injuries

Quarterback Drew Lock is expected to return to action Sunday for the Denver Broncos' twice-delayed game at New England

Second straight full practice Lock (shoulder) turned in a second straight full practice Thursday, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports. "There were no setbacks [after Wednesday's practice]," Fangio said o...
Impact While Fangio stopped short of saying that Lock would reclaim starting duties Sunday in New England, the second-year quarterback should take back that role if he comes out unscathed Friday in the team's final practice of Week 6. Perhaps more intriguing than whether Lock will start Sunday is which of the remaining three quarterbacks on the roster might serve as his backup. Jeff Driskel and Brett Rypien both drew starts while Lock was sidelined, but Blake Bortles boasts the most experience of anyone in Denver's quarterback room.

Resumes practicing in full Lock (shoulder) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Impact Lock missed Denver's last two games due to a strained shoulder, but his ability to practice in full to begin Week 6 puts him in position to reclaim starting duties Sunday against the Patriots. According to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic, head coach Vic Fangio has yet to announce that Lock will be fit to start this weekend, but that should merely be a formality if he's able to continue practicing fully Thursday and Friday.

Should be ready Week 6 Coach Vic Fangio said Sunday that Lock (shoulder) will likely be ready to start for the Broncos in the team's next game Week 6 at New England, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports....
Impact The Patriots and Broncos were initially scheduled to play Sunday in Week 5, but due to three positive COVID-19 test results among New England players over the past week, the game was pushed back to Monday and then postponed to Week 6. The postponement created a de facto bye week for the Broncos, and few players on the team should benefit more from the extended break more than Lock, who had missed Denver's last two games with a right shoulder strain. Had the Broncos played Week 5, Fangio said Lock likely wouldn't be ready to go, but the signal-caller will likely have enough time to get healthy with Denver off the schedule until Oct. 18. Fangio hasn't decided whether Brett Rypien, Jeff Driskel or Blake Bortles will serve as Lock's top backup when the second-year quarterback is officially cleared to start again.

Impact The Broncos and Patriots are now tentatively scheduled to play Sunday, Oct. 18 in Week 6, which was originally a scheduled bye week for New England. Denver meanwhile, had been in line to host the Dolphins, but Miami now looks poised to take its bye Week 6. Lock (shoulder) had been listed as questionable heading into Monday's contest and was uncertain to play, but Denver's starting quarterback should be ready to return from a two-game absence if the Patriots are able to host the Broncos next weekend.
