Recovering from surgery Coach Matt Rhule said Wednesday that Jackson underwent groin surgery after being placed on injured reserve, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Impact Jackson suffered a groin injury during Week 12 and was subsequently placed on IR. However, the Panthers are just now divulging that the 26-year-old underwent surgery on his groin. Rhule mentioned that the recovery period is only six weeks, so Jackson should be getting close to full strength. Nonetheless, the Panthers are firmly out of the playoff picture, so he isn't expected to return in Week 18.

Impact Jackson suffered a groin injury during Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, and an MRI undergone Monday revealed the extent of the issue. The starting cornerback, who has two interceptions through 12 appearances this season, will thus turn his attention toward getting fully healthy for 2022. This offseason, Jackson is set to become an unrestricted free agent.
