Goes on IR Carolina placed Brown (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Impact Brown tallied three tackles and played 60 of the Panthers' 66 defensive snaps in Sunday's 47-10 loss to the Saints in Week 1 but emerged from the contest with a meniscus injury. He's expected to undergo a procedure to address the injury, but a recovery timeline won't be established until doctors determine whether he requires a partial meniscectomy or a full repair of the meniscus. The latter surgery would spell an end to Brown's season, while a partial meniscectomy requires a shorter recovery timeline. The move to IR at least ensures that Brown won't play in any of the Panthers' next four games, making a Week 6 matchup with the Falcons on Oct. 13 his earliest possible return date.
