Impact Prior to Thursday's practice, coach Kyle Shanahan included Samuel among 49ers that were slated to be limited, according to Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News. But Samuel bucked those expectations and handled every rep presented to him and his fellow wide receivers. With his calf injury behind him, he'll ramp up for Monday's matchup against a Rams defense that has surrendered the third-most catches (130) to wide receivers so far this season.

Impact Samuel put up a modest five catches (on nine targets) for 63 yards this past Sunday versus the Cardinals, at least for his standards this season. Fellow wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk also busted out for 6-89-1 on eight targets, so Samuel suddenly has some competition for looks from QB Jimmy Garoppolo in the passing game.
