Deebo Samuel and 6 Commanders running out of time to save their jobs The clock is ticking.
6 HOURS AGO • RIGGOSRAG.COM
Another three catches Samuel recorded three catches on four targets for 35 yards in Saturday's 29-18 loss to the Eagles.
Impact It was difficult to judge the Commanders' passing game due to Marcus Mariota's (hand) exit early in the third quarter, though Samuel wasn't particularly impactful at any point in the contest. He did manage a 20-yard gain on a tough catch and run over the middle of the field late in the third quarter, accounting for his longest reception of the contest while also marking his eighth catch of at least 20 yards this season. However, Samuel has now been held to 35 yards or fewer in four of his last eight games while topping 50 yards only twice in that span.

Three grabs in win over Giants Samuel caught three of five targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 29-21 win over the Giants.
Impact Marcus Mariota completed only 10 passes in total on the day, with Samuel and Terry McLaurin the only players to catch more than one of them, but Samuel's longest gain went for only 18 yards. The veteran wideout has hauled in multiple passes in every game he's played this season, and his 65 receptions through 13 contests are already the second-highest total of his career after his 77 in 2021 with the 49ers. Samuel will look for his first TD since Week 11 in a Week 16 clash with the Eagles.

Suiting up Sunday Samuel (illness) is active for Sunday's game at the Giants.
Impact Samuel didn't practice Friday due to an illness and ultimately was deemed questionable for Week 15 action. His lack of inclusion on the Commanders' list of inactives Sunday has cleared him to resume his typical role, which has meant 70-plus percent of the offensive snaps in nine of his 12 appearances this season. Having said that, with top TE Zach Ertz out for the rest of the campaign due to an ACL tear that he suffered last Sunday in Minnesota, Samuel may experience a slight uptick in his usual 6.3 touches per game moving forward.

Is Deebo Samuel playing today for Commanders? ESPN's Adam Schefter gives latest injury news update | Sporting News Washington isn't quite at full strength.
DECEMBER 14 • SPORTINGNEWS.COM
In line to suit up Sunday Samuel, who is officially questionable to play against the Giants on Sunday due to an illness, is expected to give it a go, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact Samuel came down with an illness near the end of the week and didn't practice Friday. However, he seems to be feeling better and thus appears likely to take the field against New York. He'll be working with QB Marcus Mariota, as Jayden Daniels has been ruled out due to a left elbow injury.

Questionable due to illness Samuel (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at the Giants.
Impact The Commanders added Samuel to their injury report at the end of the week, labeling him as a non-participant Friday. He'll have a couple of days to recover before a favorable matchup with the Giants at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday. With TE Zach Ertz (knee) out for the season, QB Marcus Mariota is already running low on reliable pass catchers beyond Terry McLaurin.

Misses practice with illness Samuel missed Friday's practice due to an illness, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Terry McLaurin also was absent, but in his case it was a planned maintenance day. Samuel's absence is somewhat more concerning, though he'll have a couple of days to get healthy before a matchup with the Giants on Sunday. Commanders coach Dan Quinn didn't comment Friday on expectations for Samuel's availability.
DECEMBER 12 • ROTOWIRE
Team-high four grabs in loss Samuel caught four of six targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 31-0 loss to the Vikings.
Impact The four receptions led the Commanders while the six targets tied Terry McLaurin for the team lead, but the volume didn't amount to much yardage. Washington's passing attack struggled even with Jayden Daniels returning to action, but the second-year QB left the game in the third quarter after appearing to aggravate his dislocated left elbow. Regardless of whether Daniels or Marcus Mariota is under center in Week 15 against the Giants, Samuel figures to be involved in the offense -- he's seen at least five targets and caught at least three passes in nine straight appearances, compiling a 46-429-4 line on 60 targets over that stretch.

Overshadowed in OT loss Samuel recorded five receptions on seven targets for 64 yards in Sunday's 27-26 overtime loss to the Broncos.
Impact Samuel was overshadowed by strong showings from both Terry McLaurin and Zach Ertz, but he had a solid performance of his own. He did the majority of his damage in overtime, recording a 38-yard reception down the right sideline that came two yards shy of the end zone. Samuel has at least five targets in each of his last five games, and his usage down the field has started to rebound as he has three receptions of at least 20 yards combined across his last two games.

Finds end zone in OT loss Samuel caught seven of eight targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 16-13 overtime loss to the Dolphins. He added three rushing yards on his only carry.
Impact The veteran wideout scored Washington's only TD of the day on a 20-yard catch-and-run in the third quarter. Samuel has gotten into the end zone in back-to-back games, and he'll take a 53-470-5 line on 68 targets for the season into the Commanders' Week 12 bye, while also chipping in 52 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
