INJURIES

Rookie DE Darrell Taylor returns to team practice from NFI list Rookie defensive end Darrell Taylor has returned to Seattle Seahawks practice from the non-football injury list, but he likely won’t play.
JANUARY 6, 2021 • USATODAY.COM
Back at practice Taylor (leg) participated at Tuesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact The rookie second-round pick has been on the non-football injury list all season, and he was finally able to take the practice field Sunday. It's unclear if Taylor will be able to get up to speed to join the active roster for any playoff action, but he's clearly in the final stages of his recovery.

Could return for finale Coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Taylor (leg) will try to practice next week, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Taylor has been on the cusp of practicing for more than a month now, and he received an injection in his leg Dec. 7 to help expedite the process. Even Carroll expressed some doubt about Taylor's chances of practicing next week, stating, "We'll see if that can come to life." The rookie second-round pick will remain on the non-football injury list until further notice.

Will be evaluated later in December Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Taylor received an injection last week, and it will be a "couple week process," Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Impact Taylor's return to practice seemingly gets pushed off on a weekly basis, as his chances of returning this season are becoming increasingly unlikely. The rookie second-round pick could return for a playoff run, but the Seahawks may be best served by letting Taylor fully recover ahead of the 2021 season.

Unlikely to return this year Taylor (leg) is looking for an off-campus second opinion on his injury, as the hope that he will return again this year has greatly diminished, Joe Fann of NBC Sports Northwest rep...
Impact It sounded like Taylor was nearing a return less than two weeks ago, but he has seemingly suffered some type of setback. It is looking likely that the rookie will have to set his sights on 2021 for his NFL debut.
DECEMBER 5, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Hopeful to practice this week Taylor (leg) is hopeful to practice this week according to head coach Pete Carroll, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Taylor has been on Seattle's NFI list since the beginning of the season, as he has been rehabbing a leg injury that has held him out of action since the NFL Combine. Even if he does practice this week, the rookie could still be a couple weeks away from game action.

Still no clear timetable Coach Pete Carroll said Taylor (leg) still has no clear timeline for return from reserve/non-football injury list, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Impact Carroll said he was excited about getting the rookie second-rounder into the lineup, but he wasn't confident that Taylor would be ready to return Week 7 against the 49ers -- the first game he's eligible to play. For the time being, L.J. Collier and Benson Mayowa will start at defensive end, but both Alton Robinson and Damontre Moore have handled decent workloads.

No timetable for return Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that he's unsure when Taylor (leg) will be able to resume practicing, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Impact The rookie second-round pick continues to rehab from January leg surgery, the severity of which kept him from practicing at all in training camp and led to his placement on the reserve/non-football injury list list to kick off the season. Taylor won't be eligible for activation until November, but at that point he could be available to bolster Seattle's pass rush.
SEPTEMBER 8, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Heads to NFI list Taylor (leg) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list Saturday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Taylor's NFL debut is on hold, as this leg injury kept him out of training camp and he won't be available until November. At this time, there's no reason to think he won't be ready once he's eligible to be activated, but for the time being, Benson Mayowa (undisclosed) and Rasheem Green are expected to start at defensive end while L.J. Collier and Alton Robinson serve in rotational roles.

Not a lock for Week 1 Coach Pete Carroll said Sunday that "it's going to be hard for [Taylor] (leg) to make the opener," John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Carroll said that Taylor is "still a few weeks away" and noted that the defensive end has recently been away from the team due to the birth of his child. The rookie second-round pick still resides on the active/non-football injury list.
