Taking seat Monday
Sutton (shoulder) is listed as inactive Monday against the Titans, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Impact
After making a catch at Thursday's practice, Sutton stayed on the ground for a bit and went to the locker room shortly thereafter. An MRI revealed an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder, which didn't allow him to practice Friday or Saturday and left Sutton a game-time decision for Week 1. Earlier Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Sutton wasn't expected to play, but Adam Schefter of ESPN later noted he made attempts to suit up and is "really close." Alas, Sutton and KJ Hamler (hamstring) won't be out there for the Broncos' opener, meaning Drew Lock's options at wide receiver will be rookie first-rounder Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, DaeSean Hamilton, Diontae Spencer and Tyrie Cleveland.

Unlikely to face Titans
Sutton (shoulder) is not expected to suit up for Monday's game against Tennessee, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Sutton is nursing a sprained AC joint in his shoulder sustained during practice last week, and it looks as though he'll need more time to recover before retaking the field. Rapoport notes that Sutton would suit up Monday were the Broncos in a must-win scenario, a hint that he shouldn't remain sidelined for too long. If the Broncos' top wideout is indeed forced to sit out versus Tennessee, expanded targets will be made available for rookie first-round pick Jerry Jeudy, in addition to Tim Patrick and DaeSean Hamilton. The official word on Sutton's availability will likely come down to a game-time decision.

Game-time decision Monday
Sutton (shoulder) is "truly questionable" for Monday's game according to coach Vic Fangio, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Impact
Sutton did some light work on the sidelines during Saturday's practice, but he wasn't wearing a helmet during the portion open to the media. It seems as if Sutton's status could completely depend on the mobility of his sprained shoulder following Monday's walkthrough. It's worth noting, Fangio did suggest rookie KJ Hamler was "closer to the doubtful side of questionable" so there's at least some separation of availability within the injury designation that could give fantasy managers some hope in regard to Sutton. If the star wide receiver is ruled out ahead of Monday's contest, expect the Broncos to rely heavily on the likes of Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick and DaeSean Hamilton.

Impact
As Monday night's season opener against the Titans approaches, Sutton is considered day-to-day with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder. If Denver's top wideout is out or limited at all Week 1, added targets would be available for rookie starter Jerry Jeudy as well as returnees Tim Patrick and DaeSean Hamilton.

Sprained AC joint in shoulder
Sutton is considered day-to-day with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Impact
As Klis points out, it could have been worse, but now the Broncos' top wideout has to be considered questionable for Monday night's season opener against the Titans. If Sutton is out or limited at all in Week 1, added targets would be available for rookie starter Jerry Jeudy, along with Tim Patrick and DaeSean Hamilton.

Sutton will undergo an MRI on the shoulder he injured during Thursday's practice, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
Sutton was unable to finish Thursday's session after hurting himself while making a catch. The wideout's status must now be carefully monitored as Monday night's game against the Titans approaches. If Sutton is limited or out in Week 1, added looks would be available for rookie starter Jerry Jeudy, as well as Tim Patrick and DaeSean Hamilton.

Exits practice early
Sutton was forced out of practice early Thursday with an apparent shoulder injury, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
Impact
Per the report, the Broncos' top wideout "stayed down for moment" after making a catch in practice. He then "shook his right shoulder a little bit" before heading to the locker room with a trainer. Look for an update on Sutton's status no later than when the team's Thursday injury report is posted.

Poised to reprise key role
Nick Kosmider of The Athletic calls Sutton the "best player on the Broncos offense right now."
Impact
Kosmider mentions this in the context of the attention being paid to promising first-rounder Jerry Jeudy, whose presence should help open things up for Sutton, who was targeted an average of 9.3 times over the course of his final three games in 2019. With an offseason that won't include any preseason action, Sutton's pre-existing chemistry with Drew Lock "figures to be something (the second-year signal-caller) will lean on heavily at the start of the season." Sutton logged a 72/1,112/6 stat line last year, numbers he appears poised to match or exceed, with an improved team context (in terms of QB play and added offensive weapons) in mind.
