Returning to No. 2 role
McCoy is expected to serve as the Cardinals' backup quarterback Sunday against the Bears after head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Kyler Murray (ankle) will return to the lineup this w...
Impact
McCoy proved to be a capable replacement while Murray was sidelined for the past three games, despite not having top wideout DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) at his disposal for any of those contests. The veteran signal-caller guided Arizona to a 2-1 record sans Murray and Hopkins, completing 75.6 percent of his throws for 7.6 yards per attempt and a 3:1 TD:INT while adding 40 yards on the ground. Though McCoy is unlikely to see extended action again this season so long as Murray remains healthy, the 35-year-old's strong showing as a fill-in starter should be enough to earn him another one-year deal with the Cardinals or another club this offseason.

Strong in road start
McCoy completed 35 of 44 pass attempts for 328 yards and two touchdowns against Seattle on Sunday.
Impact
With Kyler Murray (ankle) out again, McCoy was asked to step in as starter for the divisional road matchup -- the second divisional road matchup of McCoy's three-game stint as starter. That's normally a lot to put on a backup, but McCoy did a good job and kept the Arizona offense steady throughout the decisive victory, just as he did against the 49ers in Week 9. The Cardinals get a bye in Week 12 before facing Chicago the following week, and by then Murray should be able to step back into the starting lineup.

Active and starting Sunday
McCoy (pectoral) is active for Sunday's contest in Seattle, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact
With Kyler Murray still nursing an ankle sprain, the Cardinals will roll with the healthiest of their top two quarterbacks Week 11. McCoy was able to practice Wednesday through Friday and even capped the week with a full practice, so he should be able to gut out his own pectoral strain. However, he won't have DeAndre Hopkins (inactive/hamstring) or Chase Edmonds (IR/ankle) at his disposal, leaving A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Zach Ertz and James Conner as the top skill-position players available to the offense.

Likely to start again
McCoy (pectoral) is likely to make his third straight start under center in place of Kyler Murray (ankle) Sunday against Seattle, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
Both quarterbacks officially carry the questionable tag, but McCoy appears to be in a better place health-wise than Murray is with his high-ankle sprain. McCoy left last week's loss to the Panthers with a pectoral strain and didn't return. He was then limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he upgraded to full activity Friday, while Murray remained a limited participant for the second day in a row. The Cardinals likely won't officially announce McCoy as their Week 11 starter until after the team releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, but expect him to direct the offense while Chris Streveler serves as his backup.
